@Vomitore my friend metallica's music has evolved over the years compared to that old days the quality of lyrics may not be dark/Gothic as before but the musical quality has certainly improved over having a 1 or 2 riffs played in a song with 1 guitar lead in albums like kill em all or ride the lighting so on now their music has more substance ,more variations and more melodic than it used to.

Most people dis metallica because they changed their musical style or made mainstream music. Even musicians get bored creating same music day in and day out. @sidoghosh You're correct. There is millions of people who follow Metallica. That's because a lot of the old fans were replaced by more new fans. Metallica are "Family friendly metal" now. Just like Ozzy became family friendly with the show. In the early to mid 80's parent's didn't want their children to listen or like him. But after his TV show he became this "lovable, yet so dis-functional" character that you couldn't do anything but love. Since it's cool to like Metallica? Why not Ozzy!?

I knew some hardcore fans back in the day who cringe at their name now. And when I go to shows people make comments of how much of a joke they are now. And yes, Ozzy isn't as heavy as Metallica. But Ozzy, just like Metallica is now a "Family friendly metal" band. When the black album came out, the old Metallica was over ... Now they're a fad.

Metallica realy died after "justice for all" but they ressurected with Death Magnetic.

Load and Reload are not bad, but no Metallica Style. The Garage Inc. was a Cover-Album and St. Anger some Hardcore-Shit, but no Metallica Sound.

Death Magnetic is the first good Metallica-Album since the legendary "Justice"
