  • i doubt you actually used a torch (the flaming kind)

  • @cokersatm

definitely no....haha, that sounds primitive :D

  • @cokersatm he is just probably European. they call flashlights torches

  • Normally the aquarium fish breeders collect the Moina and Daphnia at the Indah Water Treatment Pond early in the morning before the sun rise,as during this hour the dissolved oxygen level in the pond is the lower, and these microscopic organisms float up the water surface where the atmospheric air dissolve in the water surface that contains higher D.O. level.

  • thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bumpis Sure, you are welcome :D

  • Are they always nocturnal, or can you try your luck in the morning with trying to catch them, in other words, can you catch them in daylight?? :D

  • @Teeklip

Hi Teeklip, no, they are not nocturnal...they are actually attracted to light. And yes you can catch them in the morning, early in the morning, that's the only time you can see them forming red patches on the water surface. Once the sun is up they just vanish into the water, and you can never see that phenomenon, not even in the evening.

  • great videos, i'm in the process of setting up a 10gallon tank eventually going to upgrade to 29gallon. Your videos have given me some ideas.

  • Thank you for the comment :D

  • wow! that's a lot of big juicy daphnia!

  • Juicy??? I hope you didn't taste them....haha, just joking :D......anyway Happy New Year!

  • lol! yeah not actually been eating any yet... I can only imagine the fishes delight at seeing those macro-mini-beasts though! Happy New Year to you aswell!

  • what is teh WARNING for ??? what damage are you predicting about ?

  • Because catching daphnia can be dangerous if you are not experience and familiar :) You might fall into the pond, so just a warning especially for those who can't swim :D

  • Yes, use them as food to feed fish fry :D

  • What do you do with them? Use them as food?
