  • How can this Handle a Great Lakes Canadian Winter? I Want One....but I think the Salty Snow within a City (Windsor Ontario) would just Destroy the Bamboo, nor would it keep out the Cold!?

  • Great idea....why not!

  • I plan on having one house made of bamboo. this thing isnt bad at all. I go for anything that is in harmony of nature.... always and in all ways... :) nice video though.

  • 'an acre of trees to build a house' riiiiiight. Lost me right there at that totally bogus stat.

  • looks like something a homeless person would build.....

  • Is there anywhere in Australia that will do this? Please let me know!

  • do they dry out?

  • I made the mistake of planting bamboo in my farm .... and I now have to pour poison into it every six months ...

  • Don't forget Swiss Family Robinson. Awesome. What are the cost comparisons to log cabins? Especially if the bamboo must be shipped from the islands.

  • yes tree huggers are so corny

  • I built a 200 sq meter bamboo house in the Philippines because it was cheaper than a normal house. I didn't do it for the "greenness" of it,nor to be "nurtured" through new age mystical soundtracks and hippy logic. This video makes me want to slash and burn a forest and also burn a 50 ton pile of rubber tires to make up for the tree hugging mentality of this film......Which by the way wasn't bad at all, I'm just a natural ass hole.

  • Just forget about bamboo. Far better is tropical Greenheart or even better Purple heart.

  • LOL! We have these houses all over the community.

  • OMG!!! love the sound of the trees blowing in the wind.

  • Bamboo = slash/ burn/ plant/ monoculture/ slavewages/ processwithpoison/ shipoverseas/ shortlifecycle/ notdurable....

  • Awesome

  • There is nothing quite like the sound of bamboo clacking against one another in the wind..Heavenly.

  • Can't wait too see it! BTW did you know in the movie the site ez-casino(dot)com is shown?

  • 4 feet in one day!! wow.

  • I'm surrounded by bamboo...probably not the kind that you can build with, but still I love it. And definitely, it does grow amazingly fast. You have to love it, because once you have it growing you're not going to get rid of it quickly.

  • @Elin48 for stuff like this, the government need to take some time to think about the environment, instead of that fucking oil.

  • Thanks for uploading this, i just moved to hawaii and am looking for eco friendly homes or earthship homes

  • Absolutely fantastic! Beautiful, sustainable and non-toxic. What more could you ask for?

  • HEMP > Bamboo.

  • @DackIsBack We should be using both, and hemp doesnt have a tensil strength greater than steel

  • Hawaii belongs to Japan.

  • Very cool. In Assam, India, we visited a village where everybody builds their houses out of woven bamboo. They even build barns (goshallas) for their cows out of bamboo.

  • Fantastic! Out of Sight! When I stayed a short time in Pensylvania, I remember going down a back road where bamboo grew for a few blocks long. It's a beautiful plant and now we are beginning to use bamboo the way the Malaysians have been using it to build homes. What a nifty idea for the future !
