I don't think Gen Clark questioned McCain's qualifications in the most advantageous way, but with McCain's military record being at the core of his public perception, it is appropriate to question to what extent it actually constitutes qualification for the office of President. He was one of thousands held as POWs by NVN. If that constitutes qualification for high office, where are all the others? He'll fight to preserve that mystique, but the bottom line is, McCain's no General Eisenhower.
