  • Da notte di follie a letto Thom Yorke

  • This song, every time, brings me to place that's somewhere between "Things aren't going to be OK for you" and "You'll be fine, don't worry about it." Happens every time.

  • F fd

  • how does jonny this soun with the guitar, someone tell me please?

  • @adanmaster10 He shakes a coin on the strings :-)

  • i miss radiohead

  • This can't be Glasto '97 i was there, it was in the afternoon i.e. in daylight.

  • Great video and great music

  • Remember from Laurens cd she made for us. Awesome!

  • Is there an official DVD of this show anywhere? It's considered the best live show of all time by Rolling Stone, for what that's worth.

  • How can Thom Yorke hate this song?

  • Seven people were left to dry

  • a siete personas las dejaron dry

  • oooh THAT's why we loved radiohead!!

  • @twolightsband loved??? why the past tense??

  • commercial? whats commercial bout this does it sell tennis shoes or rip off underfed underpaid vietnamese children does it soundlike brittney spears no it dont please explain who and what makes it commercial and why that would be a valid reason to dislike a great piece of music dont you think it ought to be judged on its own merits ?

  • Radiohead is real music.Just fucking real emotions that no one can describe. I LOVE IT

  • Only Thom could be so clever as to hate his own song eventually. I still love it.

  • i love how ed walks across the stage to jonny haha

  • it boggles me how after years and years of listening to this song, it could still manage to move to tears.

  • Does Jonny still wear the arm brace?

  • This song is so awsome, I made a cover of it! :D

  • Happy birthday Danny !!!

  • Surely the greatest band... EVER

  • Don't leave me high! Don't leave dry♪

  • i love the part where he says "all your insides fall to pieces", one of the best lines ever

  • I made a cover of this song!

  • He's not much 2 look at, but what an awesome voice! I love Radiohead completely - vocals, lyrics, and music. I saw them in 1996 as a back-up band for REM. Loved them more than REM, and went out and bought this Cd tbhe next day, and it remaians one of my favorites

  • @kylaharden62

not much to look at? he's precious!

  • never gets old. incredible

  • A truly great band. Inspiring to everyone.

  • Listen to my version on my page :)

  • nice song

  • they all do their own thing

  • ALL TIME FAVORITE RADIOHEAD SONG, was supposed to be on pablo honey but they thought it sounded like a Rod Stewart song.[1]However, during the sessions for The Bends it was was felt that it worked well with the rest of the album's content. IT is the original recording never re recorded for the album Thom stated that he was pressured into this song on being on The Bends.

  • WTF?! I didn't know they didn't like this song too. I love Creep and all, but I could understand them being sick of playing it. But this song? WTF?!

  • @ssonicdeafmonkey

It's cause' they think this song went too commercial...

I agree with them, but it's an awesome song.

  • i don't understand why they don't like this song...

  • I understand Thom not liking creep... but this? I don''t even

  • @XmissXalyssX I don't get it myself.

  • couldn't they play this live instead of Creep since Radiohead feel the same about both songs

  • radiohead's best ever song!

  • love this song, the crowd are so loud at this lol :D

  • Comment removed

  • @villiparis Yeah i think it was loud, hurt my ears lol :P, depends whatearphones u have, i suppose.

  • ieu lagu teh gokil pisan...urang nepi ka ayeuna merinding lamun ngadenge lagu ieu..top lah radio head....

  • Curious thing .....Thom is a small guy, but when a see him and hear him he looks like the biggest giant in the universe...

  • i hope they start playing this again...

  • @pleasenononsense This is not a bad song. Its a very bad song. - Thom Yorke (2009) I think we can stop dreaming...

  • i fucking love this song!! end of!

  • i know thom said he hated this song, but this is such a good performance.

  • will they ever play this live again?

  • Comment removed

  • He's doing it with a coin.

  • Comment removed

  • If I remember rightly, Johnny plays the sliding notes by rubbing the strings with the ridges on the side of a coin, and sliding it up and down the string to get different pitches.

  • They havn't played this live since 1997

  • really? they don't play high and dry anymore?

  • Nope, like Creep ... Thom said they think this song is crappy ... But loads of bands would kill to have a song as good as High and Dry xD

  • buh lost some of my interest in seeing them here xD

  • @KalB971 - Most bands would also kill to have their A-sides as good as Radiohead b-sides

  • @meltedcandlewax Bloc Party has better B-sides than their A-sides

  • perfect song, so representative of the artistic mood in that time.. ill never forget thisone

  • chinga tu madree''¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I think "emo" isn't the "BAD-WORD" all the time of its existence.. so don't get angry so easy ;)

  • dont u dare call radiohead emo, freedom of speech be fucked

  • LOL. easy there.

  • what the fuck has emo got to do with radiohead, the term didnt even exist then!!!

  • @ceridawn i think it's an asian puberty thing ...

  • @ceridawn well it did but in the term emocore but regardless agreed that the term as a "genre" has no relevance to the mighty radiohead

  • @ceridawn actually the term did exist at that point it just wasnt as known as it is now a days and used to brand shitty pop bands. emo has actually been a "genre" since rites of spring, fugazi and embrace cam out of washington dc. heres a list of a few good pre 2000's emo bands. texas is the reason, sunny day real estate, mineral, jawbreaker, the get up kids, etc. listen to some of these bands because im sure if you like radiohead you may like a few dont say things unless you know the facts.

  • @johnnygermisdead thankyou for readjusting my misinformed mind.

  • @ceridawn no problem thats what i'm here for

  • Adoro essa banda uma das melhores do mundo ^^

  • no una. si no la mejor de todos los tiempossssssssssssssssssssssss

  • I was there , and this was the best gig I've ever seen.

  • different gravy! Simple as.

  • Obviously, different people have different ideas. Good luck with that.

  • emo? you have no idea what you are talking about. Wasn't it Radio 1 that banned there earlier songs for being to depressing? Have you listened to In Rainbows, 15 steps, Reckoner, Jigsaw Falling into Place, and Weird Fishes. Lots uplifting music. As for Kid A and Amnesiac, I love them, but I always fail to put them in a genre. But I know for a fact, that it is without a shadow of a doubt, not emo.

  • went through a too emo way??? is that supposed to be english. And when did radiohead ever become emo?! haha that's hilarious. you may have different ideas, and i'm here to tell you they are fucking retarded!

  • just cause it makes you feel depressed doesn't mean it's emo, what if a movie makes you feel depressed, does that make it emo? what if i call you a fucking retard and it makes you feel depressed, does that make me an emo?

  • thats how epic this video is!

  • sex.

  • even sitting in front of my laptop, this still gives me the chills

  • i think nirvana paved the way for radiohead, in terms of them becoming successful, but radiohead is defiently the most important band, musically, of the 90's and now, one of the most important of all time in my opinion

  • I'm not comparing!'

But I think in 20 years, when people look back at popular movie, in terms of influence, Radiohead will be like the Beatles...

In terms of influencing pretty much every act after them.

  • I feel Nirvana is completely irrelevant to Radiohead. I actually feel Nirvana--as a former fan--slowed down the 90's, because it wasn't anything new, unless over-distorted guitars was a movement. Radiohead's "OK Computer" was a movement in music itself, if not just the way guitars are played nowheredays.

  • I'm just saying that Nirvana brought alternative music into the spotlight, but i agree with you that Radiohead changed the music scene by creating a whole new movement and has since influenced many bands

  • i cry when i see this video......i love it!!!!!

  • yea you can definitly tell thom's fucking tired in this one!!!!! i mean he does outstanding, AND he's exausted, the mans just great, even when he hates the song he's singing/playing

  • people say that this is their easiest song to listen to.

i think its great and beautiful live but their other songs hold more meaning.

  • it's hard to believe thom hates this song...he said so in an interview

  • i think that's their's better song

  • Lol you're a shit singer. And I haven't even heard you sing. You know why? You mustn't have much experience if you think Thom is out of key here. And to understnad how to sing well towards the end of a gig when you're exhausted to fuck.

  • It's the best thing that I ever Hear

  • muito boa essa musica!!!

  • love it xxx

  • He has an absolutely BEAUTIFUL voice, live, and on the record. I'd give anything to see Radiohead live. People are such pricks. *sigh*

  • try singing for two hours a night five nights a week for nearly two years straight and see how your voice holds up khanoh you cunt." the untalented judge while the talented do" i just fuckin made that saying up...that'll be worldwide by next week.

  • me too!!

  • i was there

  • errr, he is on key, if ur a singer (even if ur not) u cant argue with that ... the performance is lovely...

  • ive been into Radiohead in the past year or two and regret that i wasnt into them when i was at school

  • i like the way he sings live personally. but i can understand where khanoh89 is coming from though.

    ENJOY MY OPINION!

  • who gives a fuck if he hit bum notes guys. Hes only human.

  • The point of the matter, khanoh89, is that even Thom's bum notes don't detract from his overall performance. I just listened to this performance and didn't cringe once. It's all about feeling, and Thom Yorke has it aplenty.

Also, if you want perfection, or whatever you describe as perfection, go and listen to the studio version and leave the live fans alone. Idiot. Just because you have this "amazing" opinion that Thom sings badly doesn't mean we need to as well. It's opinion, mate, not fact.

  • MA-RA-VI-LHO-SO!!!

  • You misunderstand me, I meant that technical excellence doesn't always equate to listener pleasure. I'd rather listen to The Ramones than Yes.

And it's very easy to say you're a better singer but, until you've done a gig in front of >50k people with monitors blowing up and unable to hear yourself, I don't think it's fair to make the comparison.

  • You may be a better technical singer but, given a choice between the pair of you singing the same song, I suspect most people would plump for Thom...

  • Top band. Top song. Top performance. khanoh89 you are without doubt and I mean this most sincerely - a complete and utter c*nt .

  • o yeah, i see your point

  • no, he just couldn't be bothered with u, and spoke the truth.

  • how the fck does jonny does that? o.o

  • Singing is also a very subjective thing to judge on technical standards. You wouldn't judge piano or guitar parts on 'technique' so why should singing be any different?

  • A lot of singers don't hit the right key in live performances. Yorke sings newer songs a lot better, I think it was always going to be a problem with old falsetto tunes like High and Dry.

  • SIMPLEY YOU ARE A CUNT

  • i wonder how you would sing khanoh89.

when youve got 200.000 fans in front of you.

some out of controll tones when you sing is the least that could happen in a situation like that. and btw i love that performance

  • radiohead and thom yorke kik fuckin asses mother fucker !!! the best fuckin voice ever, u know what i mean

  • your clearly a smart arse, Yorke is one the best live performers around, ask people who have seen him live and they will tell you that

  • well your wrong, he is an amazing live singer, you just need to watch videos like this and Glastonbury 2003 to see how great he is live

  • your obviously a cunt, yes I do like "soccer" but I can still have an intelligent debate with someone,

its beyond me how you cannot see the utter genius Thom Yorke

  • FUCK YOU

  • do not feed the troll

  • successful troll is successful.

  • a lot of people say this is one of the best glastonbury gigs ever but when Radiohead themselves talk about it they said everything went wrong, it sounded terrible and that they were so disappointed by it that a cloud hung over them all through the OK computer tour.

  • that's not really true - if you watch Meeting People Is Easy Thom Yorke says that, in terms of the OK Computer tour, everything AFTER Glastonbury was a dissapointment.

  • Wrong, my friend. Radiohead, music critics and many who where there hail this Radiohead performance as one of the best performances of all time - by any band.

  • yeah the critics say that, but interviews with thom and the band say that all the sound equipment messed up and they weren' happy with it.

  • Its a shame cause they did an amazing job of playing creep during this set.

  • yeah they're monitors blew up, that didnt effect what the crowd hear though just what the band heard

  • i have an mp3 of this, infact the whole gig, message me if you would like it.

  • i would like it plz

  • ohhh i would like

  • i'd love a copy if you could manage it

    thanx:)

  • i was there man, and this set rocked, we was all caked in mud and cold, but we all loved it all the same.......best glasto ever if you ask me...

  • thank you so much for being patient...

    "woooh!!! YeAH PATIENCE!!!"

this is called high and dry.

    "wOOOOAH SHIT!!!!"

  • people say this song has no innovation, but what a great solo from jonny in the middle. really changes the whole song.

  • its that great of a solo, especially not for jonny greenwood . but yea, i still really like this song. who cares if it isnt innovative? its got a nice sound and melody to it. yeraeaaa :-)

  • oops, i meant "its NOT that a great of a solo"

  • How good is this song and how good is this performance?? In fact, how good are the 'head. Bloody brilliant I'd say.

  • does anyone have the mp3 of this?

    cheers

  • It definitely looks like Thom Yorke is strung out the entire time.

  • your a moron then...

  • I'm not very familiar with Radiohead, but this song is fucking great

  • best UK band of the last 20 years

  • best BAND of the last 20 years

  • Thom might hate it, but it highlights what makes Radiohead so good in that they can turn what would normally be a pretty mundane pop/rock song into such a beautifully performed piece. Its pretty straightforward but it works really well.

  • he places his finger across the 3rd fret and scratches with coin, going down gives a higher pitch going up gets a lower one

  • i wonder what jonny and ed said to each other during the song

  • this is probably the last time they have played this song eh?

  • not the last time, but you're pretty close. they only played it a handful of times after this on OK Computer tour and that was it. i don't think Thom likes this song very much...he didn't want it on The Bends. i remember him calling it "fucking dreadful" in one of his interviews.

  • It's very curious that you say that, because I would say that Coldplay was influenced by Radiohead not the other way around. Don't get me wrong, Coldplay are one of the best bands. But this is the original sound of Radiohead before they experimented with electronica.

  • Yeah thats true .. What sound do you like better? jw .. I take it you like them all but any preference?

  • Yeahh, you are right. Right at this moment, I'm for Radiohead, specially for their new masterpiece: In Rainbows. But that could change when Coldplay release their fourth LP. The thing is that Radiohead is already a legendary rock band, and Coldplay needs to prove themselves more innovative, more experimental, and take more risks with their sound. But overall I really like them both. What do you think?

  • what? how can you even compare them. coldplay are so boring and cheesey, anyone could write their songs

  • but they don't. coldplay is good at writing emotional songs about love. i wouldn't say boring, moreso just relaxed. and cheesey, sure. but look at some of the songs radiohead has written....when you take a look at the lyrics of creep, they seem a little cheesey.

please, please do not mistake this as thinking coldplay is better. radiohead is my favorite band right now, coldplay looks up to them, and i dont think cheesey is a bad thing all the time.

  • superb band

  • I just love everything about radiohead, every single album speaks volumes to everyone on a different level.

The Best Band In England Ever.

  • Radiohead is surely my favorite band at the moment and it has been in a while, but lets not forget about pink floyd, which in my opinion is the best band of all times!

  • "i dont know if its true and i hope its not, but i heard tom hates this song, i dont see how he could thow, its so good"

yeah, he dubbed it "fucking dreadful"

  • He does, I heard that the intro riff he originally wrote as a pisstake of a Rod Stewart song... they've since dropped the song from their live setlist which is a shame, its one of my favourites.
