I am a huge DC fan and I generally like every thing Chris does, but yes, his voice is quite off-key in this performance. It could be poor sound quality in his earpiece or something, though, because if you listen to other versions of this song live (especially with the band), he is quite good. Just an off performance, that's all. No biggie.
Wow. He didn't really do bad...hell, most bands really play like shit live. He was pretty good. Sure, he's done better, but still...
Though yeahh, nice. I like it. I would've said this is one of my favorite Dashboard songs, but they're all too good...hard to put one over another. =P

that was super shitty ill admit, but still he's amazing cause he wrote that damn song all by himself and dashboard is still the sexiest acoustic music ever regardless baby <3
the thing in the hole isnt a pickup. its a feedback buster. the pickup could be one of many brands installed under the saddle (i think thats what its called) Ive got one on my acoustic made by fishman, was like 200 installed, not too bad. anyway, cruddy performance, hes not into it... ) :
hes normally flawless live... this was a little dissappointing ... its one of my favorite DC songs... but he sounded a little flat here... i guess hes aloud one just okay performance every once in a while lol
anyone know what pickup hes using, or what that type is called. the kind where it covers the whole sound hole. Ive been looking for one and cant pin down what theyre called.
jst: Actually, I have this very same model guitar myself (Gibson J-185EC in Antique Natural), and although the list price was $3,300.00, I got it for $1,941.00 including tax. It's not too bad back in 2003 when I got it, but I heard they are up to about $2,400.00 now. Gibson's changed a lot of the specs now, too, so it's not the same guitar...not as good, I think.
yeah man im just kidding about that, cause i would want one of these myself one day and i finally got a chance to play one at a Guitar Center right around where i live and it was listed as $1,799 although it was a J-88 it basically looked the same ha. but nothing compares to the J-185, in my point of view. thanks for ur opinion concerning the new gibson models
jst: Keep this in mind if you're buying a NEW J-185EC, Gibson completely changed them from the model here. They changed the fretboard from ebony to rosewood, the ebony bridge is now rosewood and not moustache anymore, just straight. The birds-eye beak neck is now just straight, and the gold-plated Grover tuners are now just plain chrome. In my opinion, they ruined this beautiful guitar. You're paying more and getting less! Luckily, I got mine before they changed to the new specs in 2006.
Definitely! Gibson ruined that guitar starting with the 2006 models. I happen to love ebony, and now it's all switched to rosewood, which I don't care for.
A difference between ebony and rosewood is a difference im not familiar with. Care to explain further? However, i do understand what you mean about the moustache bridge of classic gibson models thats just another reason im attracted to gibsons
Ebony wood is black, hard, smooth, very fast fretboard wood, and it's kinda rare in that it's found only on Mount Kilamanjaro in Africa. Rosewood, is red to brown, softer, kinda rough, not as slippery a wood for fretboards. Yeah, the moustache bridge is gone, it's just straight and plain now.
awesome. thanks for the tip. and looks like you've done your research. if i wanted a straight bridge, i'd take a lesser version of this guitar in another model. just to say that my fretboard came from kilamanjaro africa is a great reason anyways.
thats the biggest loada crap ive ever heard. ive listened to him from the start and just coz someone dnt like him on his own, it just means they dnt like his acoustic stuff, his stuff has varied a lot since the start. further seems forever was before dashboard and they were nothing like his acoustic stuff, chris is great with or withour the rest of the guys

you rarely hear someone else singing behind him.
have you ever heard further seems forever?
he used to be lead for that, but I guess he broke off and did his own thing, which lead to DC.
but I don't think they're as good now, compared to having Chris.
