I bought this pedal a long time ago after watching this demo and I have to say truly one of the best pedals I have bought and I have way too many pedals. Most which I don`t even use.I found a good deal on one so wasn`t too expensive.
Turn the depth and speed down and throw it in front of a high gain amp yipee
This one sounds great. I'm not a huge fan of phaser. If I was to use one Id either use it slow or fast. I don't like it in the middle. It makes it sound like theres just an effect going on on top of the guitar signal. Slow or fast makes it sound like it is a part of the sound of the guitar.
I love Maxon pedals, they have some of the best parameter sweeps in any pedal I've used. They are simple looking and kinda hefty on a pedal board, but the most fully usuable pedals I've tried
That thing should sound better for how much it costs. Honestly, not a great deal more pleasing to the ear than an old Boss PH-2. More sweep though, that's about it.
It's not bad, but it should be mind-blowing for that money.
Agreed. Maxon is ridiculously overpriced. Your much better off buying a EHX Polyphase: $200, with a two waveform phaser that can also be controlled by an envelope for auto-wah, or manually with an expression pedal. And it sounds WAY better than this, imho.
i'll give in to say maxon is far too overpriced, but i have never had a pedal of theirs break on me while i've gone through literally 5 small stones. this has lasted me over a year, which beats the record of the small stone :/ it sounds much better too
I have the moog phaser, which I love; this one has a unique, "ballsier" sound, which is also good...this ones more of a phaser phaser, while the moog has some features that make it more of a phaser/ring mod
i love the sound of the negative feedback setting at 4:57, but I'm just not sure if it's worth that high of a price. are there any cheaper phase pedals available with similar feedback controls? even if they don't have as many step options, i'd be fine with that.
its a good pedal, but how does it match with the red witch phaser? they are both 300 bux, and i know the red witch has tremolo also. what would give you more bang for your buck?
Honestly, Maxon kind of rips off Western consumers. Maxon pedals in Japan (where I'm studying abroad right now) are $100 - $150 dollars cheaper than Maxon pedals sold in America. However all other manufacturers (including Japanese ones!) sell their pedals more expensive here than in the west.
Actually, yeah guys, they play that right before Robert goes into "If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to put a flower in your hair." That's the riff they jam over, though I think we can all bet that it transformed into the core of "Achilles Last Stand" over time.
know of any pedals which sound like the beatles? like the phaser in "lucy in the sky with diamonds" and the fuzz in "think for yourself"?

it is also overpriced but this is also a vintage series pedal. you could get their PT-9 Pro +. that's a bit cheaper, 270.
