no its not. water becoming a gas is a physical change. the chemical compound of the water didnt change at all. its still h2o just in a different form.
The vapor pressure of boiling water is of course high enough for liquid to dissociate into gas, but when this happens in air that's -20C, that gas instantly converts into a solid. Hence, "snow" is created.
nice. my uncle lived in alaska a few years and he told me that if you pee outside in that type of weather you need a branch to knock the ice off your pee stream before it reaches your junk lol
its basically because hot water will not contain tiny bubbles of gas,but cold water will. Gas bubbles change how it freezes in 2 main ways. One of them is by directly affecting the freezing point, and the other is because when water freezes, it freezes around the bubbles of gas. In cold water, this means a layer of ice will be formed quickly around the outside, which stops the rest of it from freezing.
confusing, but true, im sure some websites explain it better
Good times! We used to take a whole pitcher of boiling water (yeah, real safe hahaha) and chuck the water up into the air and watch it do that. No water drops would hit the ground! Crazy cold...
So simple but everyone is still amazed by hot water. The next thing they should show is hot the house is compared to out side. Minnesota is the only state I know where you open the door and see the heat waves escaping
LOL God Bless the great people in Minnesota I don't know how the hell you guys do it, I guess if you grew up in that type of weather all your life then you can take it
There's always a positive to everything, even though in this case, the positive is slightly less intense than the negative which is, being frozen to death.
what the fuck dont you get from my comment? you can only see 5 centimeters of the spray because she doesnt know how to film. you cant see it landing or rising up or whatever the fuck it does
I don't get it, La Niña should be the cooling effect after El Niño. When el Niño (boy) move from West to East on the Pacific, change drastically the the World Climate. It used to happened every 15-20 years, now its happening every 7-5 years. When el Niño goes back to the west, and the other current go back to place, that's call La Niña (girl). The last Niño was in 06 Summer - 07 winter, so La Niña was 07 Summer- 08 winter. Is because of this that we didn't;t get many Hurricanes after 05.
lol my weatherman showed that experiment on TV the other day when it was like -20 here in buffalo. Apparently you are making a cloud, I think that it is super cool.
Guys, I recently got banned for re-uploading Obama talk about globalization. I lost all my subscribers, so please re-subscribe and lets spread as much information as possible.
Ya, -49 with windchill. It could be 10 below and you could get 49 below with windchill. It's 20 below in this video, and there's wind, so it could be 60 below with windchill. She just maybe didn't mention it.
And so you know, THAT WASN'T STEAM! That was condensed water vapor. You can't see steam.
If you throw a bucket of boiling water outside when it's 30 below almost none of it touches the ground! Stop your whining, "that still wouldn't happen".

NathanWubs 2 years ago
umm.. no, theres no chemical reaction
HausGaGa 2 years ago 2
Water becoming a gas form is a chemical reaction.
NathanWubs 2 years ago
Boiling is a phase transition, not chemical reaction.
"A chemical reaction is a process that always results in the interconversion of chemical substances." (Wikipedia)
When water is boiling, the water molecules stay the same, only the weak bonds between the molecules change.
jimidinh 2 years ago 11
exactly. :)
HausGaGa 2 years ago
um no. in this case water is just freezing. its not becoming a gas.. the white u see is tiny pebbles of ice.

It's called the "mpemba effect"
its basically because hot water will not contain tiny bubbles of gas,but cold water will. Gas bubbles change how it freezes in 2 main ways. WOW. when was the last time somebody saw STEAM.
trust me its only -20 there but over here it was -49 with the windchill the other day. that still wouldn't happen(if you think its snow its not)
angrytick 3 years ago
Ya, -49 with windchill. It could be 10 below and you could get 49 below with windchill. It's 20 below in this video, and there's wind, so it could be 60 below with windchill. She just maybe didn't mention it.
And so you know, THAT WASN'T STEAM! That was condensed water vapor. You can't see steam.
If you throw a bucket of boiling water outside when it's 30 below almost none of it touches the ground! Stop your whining, "that still wouldn't happen".
