Kobe and Lebron are amazing players who will both enter the Hall of Fame for their contributions to the game. That being said, its not fair to compare them to Jordan. He is a different species of player. Ego, expectations, emotion...none of those things mattered to him as much as winning. If you took him in his prime and put him in today's game with no hand checking and few (if any) dominant centres, he would average 40ppg while covering the other team's best player EVERY GAME. Salute MJ.

I think unless you were around when MJ was in the league, it's hard to get a full understanding of just what MJ represented to the game of basketball. When I was a kid growing up in the 90s, Michael Jordan WAS basketball. People, especially kids, viewed him as a basketball God. You turn on the TV to watch basketball, and look for the Chicago Bulls because they were THE team, the best team in all of sports. It's hard to put in words. When MJ retired in 98, the game just has never been the same.
