@8x50scope yes i was thinking of going for 100-400 L IS with a 2x extender as most my photos and video will be of animals but the price is around £1400 so now ive completely changed my mind and am going to downgrade to a bridge camera because i do a lot of country walking and geocaching so just got myself a powershot sx30 IS and ive got some real nice results with it and its 35x optical zoom. 140x zoom if u need it but i find it gets to much noise once over 90x but light & ideal for long walks.
@8x50scope yes spot on there :) the moon was in crop mode. ive since got myself a canon 70-300 IS USM but this kit lens is a good all round handy lens to have if you don't mind the lack of zoom.
