Actually the Vector W8 was a disaster, anti freeze would leak into the cylinders blowing the engine after 200 km's, which is why Vector changed the W8 for the Lamborghini V12 Diablo Engine and called it the M12. That didn't go very well with the public.
There is however a new concept out, a modern day Vector that looks very nice actually. Hope all goes well for them.

By the way, the Vector M12 was called "the worst car ever made" by Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear.
Vector W3 and W8 are from a different era. The front in looks nice, but the rear tail lights are from the 80's. Have to say the only American car from the 80's that will stand the test of time is the Buick Grand Nationals
The only thing problematic about the Vector was that it was expensive and of limited production run. Comparing it to the average europen car, generally an embarrassingly low grade of vehicle of poor quality, doesn't remove from the fact that they were and remain to be an awesome design for a car of any type and function.

Vector W3 and W8 are from a different era. The front in looks nice, but the rear tail lights are from the 80's. Have to say the only American car from the 80's that will stand the test of time is the Buick Grand Nationals

The only thing problematic about the Vector was that it was expensive and of limited production run. Comparing it to the average europen car, generally an embarrassingly low grade of vehicle of poor quality, doesn't remove from the fact that they were and remain to be an awesome design for a car of any type and function.

The article I had from Road and Track from march of 91 said 0-60 was 3.8, horsepower was 625 and top speed was 218. Not bad for having a GM 3 speed automatic.

Do you even watch racing. Audi's diesel V8's are very impressive. These are your opinions. And the reason why porsche keeps the same look is because they sell a sh$# load of cars. You say porsche is gas happy!! The carrera gets 27 mpg! Also the air coming out is cleaner than the air going in on the turbo!! Look at Top gears review on the porsche Turbo. you want junk look at viper.

porsche indisputably has the absolute most racing wins in motorsports. but consider this panoz esperante won le mans in 2006 with a suspension designed in ?1815? over porsche and crushed ferrari. yea it's ugly but it's american. stop comparing apples to oranges. many factories in many countries make excellent and crappy cars.

You've got to be kidding. Hmmm, let's see... Corvette, Mosler, Panoz, Saleen, Roush, Viper, Ford GT, Cadillac XLRV, RUFF and, of course, SSC, to name a few. Throw in Ford Mustang, Shelby, Pontiac Solstice GXP, Saturn Sky Red Line, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger and Camaro, and that's a pretty promising line-up. This is where you claim they all have parts made in Europe.

vector is beautyfull, but it`s still nothing but a test vehicle of some sort. it will never ever be like say F40, porsche 959, McLaren F1, Bugatti Veyron or other top of the line european sports cars. lets face it, americans just aren`t good enough to make a really fast and reliable car.

Test vehicle? No. This went into production, and shocked the automotive world back when it came out. The only reason why it didn't go anymore far, is because the Vector didn't have much money backing it like the richer Ferrari company, Porsche, etc. This car was actually superior to any of its competitors at the time.

I'm form here & still agree w/vore667 The 959 was the top performer and most sophisticated. We cannot build cars that match up to the ALL ROUND performance of the Germans. The vector used several engines from chevy to lamborghini. Corvettes rattle & their windows come from their seals at high speeds. Porsche has won more races than any other car manufacturer in the world. Including around 12-19 outright at Le Mans. Harley Davidson went to them for their highly acclaimed V-rod engine
