  • how fast should i go when trying to jump I'm 5'1'' 105 pounds

  • Man I just can't do the toe side...I was told to let go of my rear hand to prevent my body from spinning but then I just lose balance.any tips?

  • thanks dude

  • He makes it look easy. Ive been trying to do a wakejump all summer and I can't get it

  • @Aberman96 You should try shortening your rope. Once you get the wakejump down at the shorter rope length then add the next section and so on...also make sure you are using a wakeboard specific rope.

  • Toe side scares the poop outta me.

  • Hahaha I got a minor concussion

  • that awkward moment when the intro is almost longer than the rest of the video

  • man thank youu soo much, that was such a CLEAR explination. cant w8 to try it

  • i cant do it. I always land like right on top of the wake. i keep my postion and everything. i dont know what to do. helppppppppppp

  • @jonathan6272 egde more, maybe the wake tht the boat leaves behind isnt an easy one to jump.

  • what speed and rope length for wake to wake

  • well thank you global warming! allways summer!

  • do u need to learn riding both side ?? regular and goofy cuz i can't ride regular

  • @MrOscar94 I'm learning to switch a lot so I can start do my 180's soon. I'm coached by an awesome wakeboarder and he said that it's kinda important because you can't make 180's without being able to ride your with your wrong foot. But I guess that depends on what trick you wanna start out with first, but 180 is a simple trick.

  • Most people go out until it's about 49 degrees, you can get a wetsuit to keep you warm. And your skin doesn't sting. But after 40 you usually have to winterize your engine.

  • Thank You so much!

  • excellent instruction. Well explained, and enough detail to learn it, but not so much detail that it gets too technical.

  • 0:29 wtf

  • Great beginner video...I just started wakeboarding and am working to cross both wakes when jumping.. but its hard since I don't have a tower. If only money grew on trees...

  • Awsome i wakeboard all the Time!!!!!

  • this video is helpful but i dont get the intro. Why would someone want to show a bunch of clips of them wiping out???????

  • @ineedajob555 the intro is about the failure and pain your going to go through to become a half decent rider.

No pain, no gain. Be Relentless in your goals.

I love wakeboarding but I still havnt got good air off the wake.

I don't have a tower on the boat which doesn't help but this guy is awesome, i listened to him before going out on the boat last month and i did manage a couple of small jumps.

  • @CelticSilurianTribe yeh my boat doesnt have a wakeboard tower we didnt rely have enough money to add one on. But yeh it is alot harder. But ive practiced so much on these wakejumps and i finally can jump the wake easily heelside. Toeside is so much harder but im trying to get better

  • wow i thought i had to pop the board....thanks bro this changed my perspective on jumping

  • This really helped! I can jump but I did it totally different. Thats why I didnt get good air. Now, Im just gonna go, Im not gonna be scared, im just gonna go real fast then BOOM!!!!!! Thanks for the vid!

  • How fast are you suppose to be going? (mph)

  • @DragonForcer01 you go about 20 to 30 MPH

  • @TheThevideogamefreak thats actually really fast 22 is about as fast as you should go

  • Whats the perfect length for the rope to be at if you wanted to gap the wake and do tricks?

  • @skateboardnow 55 60 think width of wake to wake to i got cable rope with extensions works like a charm 0% strecth bout 110 $ at west marine but find em anywhere

  • @wakeboarderforlife28 How fast are you suppose to be going? I heard like 20mph, is that right?

  • I go 22 or so just go with comfort and control I go all time @DragonForcer01

  • How fast does the boat drive ?...

  • @OliOliK that would depend on alot of things but most people keep it around 20 mph or so.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh i wanna wakeboard!

  • I have the same closed toe bindings!

  • Finally I understand what is a progressive edge. Thanks!

  • ive only gone wake boarding 2 times and what is harder a 360 or a back roll

  • Comment removed

  • @freestyle374 NO pǝʌoɯǝɹ ʇuǝɯɯoɔ

  • dude it looks like ur haling ass

  • also what is ur speed it looks like u are going to fast

  • Ryanhawkins08 your wake is way to small to jump u should think about getting different boat

  • i posted a video of me am i going alrite? i just started

  • hi it is damian you Hot!!!!!!!

  • iam a girl and ihave a hyperlite Jade 129 board..ijust got it last winter, so this past summer was the first time ihave used it.iam tryin to jump to jump the whole wake from the right side on my heal side.iget some air but iam not getting alot and enough to jump the entire wake.ican only get halph way.wat am i doin wrong

  • I wakeboard behind a rib with a very small messed up wake and no tower but u can still get some crazy jumps if you hit it right. I learnt you never have to charge to clear the wake. If you hit it slowly and focus on trying to get the perfect pop you will get it

  • Awesome vid!! Actually, it helped a lot!!

I'm trying this on the weekend!!

  • If you actually watched the video you would see that the name of the song appears somewhere in the video. just pay attention

  • song ?

  • Can anyone personally message me with tips on how to do wakeboard jumps? It's insane how people can actually jump clear across the wake and land it..

  • very useful man thanks

  • These videos are awesome.

  • I was wondering if anyone can help me out i have a tohoe boat with a waketower on it and i dont thinkg im getting as high as i could. i read in wake magazine that people ride at like 20 mph but that just seems to slow but when i go faster sometimes it just seems to fast... i also don't know what rope length is best. i've tried full lenght and a way shorter rope but at a slower speed. the wake seems bigger and i think i get more height. Any tips???

  • I would recommend going around 18-19, shortening the rope around 2-4 feet (tie a loop down the line a bit and I am also assuming you use a 45-50 foot rope) and determining your results from there. As you get more comfortable, I would go back to the original length and then from there increase the speed.

    Hope this helps!

  • yeah i got an advice,

    get a new boat.

i wakeboarded with an in/out for a little bit then couldn't take it.

my dad got a wakeboard boat, its night and day difference.

  • it helps ty man

  • does it make it easier with a wakeboard tower? i get about 3/4 across the wake and when i get really high i can feel myself being pulled down...i board behind a regal 2200 with a little pop up ski pylon - goes about 3 inches up

    PLEASE HELP!!

  • Yes it does. The tower puts ur rope higher which makes it alot easier to gain high. It basically pulls you up. The distance of your jumps wont matter with the tower.

  • lol yeah man it helps so much.

  • yeah you just need a different boat if your planning on advancing in wakeboarding.

it is deffinately a night and day difference with the tower, ballasts, and a wake about 3 times the size.

  • Hey, what song is playing in this vid?

  • song? you obviously didn't watch the credits.

  • Cool video, helped alot, thanks

  • ya start off doing 22-23 eventually ride ur self up to 25-26 the faster the boat the harder ur edge will be with less effort, also remember to extend at the top of the wake, l, put all ur force and pressure down into the water, youll get some serious pop, also with your approach if u dont feel liek the boat is throwing u at the wake ur not cutting hard enough like he said cut slow and lean back keep tension on the rope even in the air use the ropes tension for balance in the air

  • ok so my problem is when I jump, I'm just not going high/far enough...my rope is attached to the back of the boat on the bottom. No tower. I watched the vid but if anyone has any tips or w/e that they think might be helpfull let me know.

    Thanks

  • I ride without a tower or pylon as well and have no problem making it w2w. My guess is you arent committing and keeping your edge all the way through they wake. The other option is to shorten the rope so you ride at a narrower part of the wake making it easier to jump the span.

A normal rope is 75ft long. I dunno what connorr is talking about but only pros ride longer than 75ft. Making it shorter is easier to new riders. I ride at about 65ft.

  • ok thanks for the advice. I'm going back out this weekend so maybe I'll get it. I'm sure I'll get it with enough practice.

  • how long is a normal wakeboard rope? (line like the guy says in the video). could you send me a message please

  • it can vary from 70 to 90 feet but it should be closer to 90 because you want to be out at the highest point of the wake for the biggest jump. the highest point will be wherre white wash is starting to form on the top of the wake

  • whats da name of the song?

  • mind killer by Freeland you fucktard! Watch the whole video ;)

  • it looks so easy :O

  • ya he makes it look easy got out there last weekend busted my ass like you wouldnt believe.....

  • haha me too...meeee too. fml

  • same here,

were all the same boat here.

    :P

  • @ricanplboy well duh hes a pro

  • @ricanplboy haha good times, on my first try after i launched off the wake i ended up diving headfirst in the water

  • Please does someone know the name of the song??

  • go to 5:12

  • is wakeboarding easier if you know how to snbowboard?

  • not at all bud the only thing u can carry over is the fact your comfortable on board with ur feet strapped in other than that, cutting turning balance psoture is completely different, u have to learn to go comfortable with the boats speed and not your own liek when u start riding theres no pausing slwoing down for certain tricks, jumping is way different you lock ur knees to jump a wake where as a snowbaord you give alittle ollie for some pop, way different youll like though!

  • I really wanna know if my boat that hits 20 knots able to handel a wakeboard on the back?

  • if your boat only goes 20 knots your not going to have neough power to get the board out of the water, especially if its a bigger person

  • If your weight is around 55 - 60 kilos then?

  • I weigh about 58 kilos, and i have a boat that does 23 knots... the hard part is going out of the water, but if you start lined up with the boat, the boat will get some speed before pulling you up.. remember to keep the rope tight.. Send me a message if you don't understand what im talking about =)

  • whats the first song called

  • holy shit man i met this guy in Dubai on the 1st round for the UAE Wakeboard tour.

  • Was he doing Wakeboard stuff and that?

  • loloololololol i tryed but i try to go big first and it turned out doing a huge jump but my landing was on my jest witch fucking killed

  • 0:29 haha

  • ey u guys can go to the philippines and wakeboard in camarines sur!!

  • hey nice vid... but wat length rope do u think i need, how fast should the boat be traveling and should i leave the additional fins on the bottom or take them off!!!

  • God, I miss wake boarding. I want summer lol.

  • Ya, man for real.

  • @Mrrampagej you can do it in the winter or not?

  • @sporemenietje, all the lakes are frozen over (I live in MN). I snowboard in the winter though.

  • @Mrrampagej it is summer

  • i dunno why i watch these videos in the winter. I just wanna go wakeboarding but the water is just too cold. ill just wait till may i guess.

  • hey thanks for the tips man, i'll git it a try..

    im a beginner u know

  • wats the song at the start

  • its all in the timing. when your hitting the wake, your squating. then right when ur tip gets off, just do as you do when you jump

  • When you go into the jump do you jump into the air or do you let the wake take you into the air?

  • does it help to pull down on the rope as you hit the wake?

  • Cann Youu Do This on a Jetski and What Speed Have You Got 2 Go ?

    Thanks Jay

  • Nah a jet-ski wont work, and generally around 20-25mph, but every rider has a different preferred speed.

  • Actually, RRoDnDiRtY, a Jetski will work. The Seadoo Wake Edition with the 525ib. ballast platform on the back puts out a well rounded wake.

  • yea they water holders help create a decent wake but wakeboarding on a boat, i think, is better

  • god i cant wait to get out there and try that out, great video

  • Hey great video your a great wakeboarding teacher i wakeboard too and i was wondering if you could look at some of my videos and give some pointers thanks! again great stuff!

  • thx a lot dude, the day before yesterday i landed my first wake2wakes and now im going to work on extra pop, but with this help, im sure it wont take long

  • whats tthe song name

  • IT Depends> If u are jumping ramps then don't use a fin lol. But if you aren't using a ramp then use a fin. It will help you cut through the water

  • do you suggest that you use the little screw in fin or do you not have anything on the bottom at all

  • great tips

  • if u have the money buy a malibu wakesetter

  • yeah, i had a ride on it yesterday and it really is fantastic..

  • psh, ide be happy if i could even get up on the stupid thing! UGHHH..

  • hey, i ride on a corect craft professinal watter ski boat, it has a low tie point witch makes it harder to get air, what kinda boat to u sugest i buy?

  • i have the same prob, i have a sport nautique with a low tie

  • buy a tower and some sacks. cheaper than the new boat. all i have is a damn waverunner

  • You should get Superair 230.Mine coming in in 2 weeks time! can't wait!!

  • Send me $60,000 and I'll do it.

  • Thanks for the great video

  • need to ollie when you hit the wake

  • I fall every time!, are you spoused to jump? or just hit the wake and let it carry you?

  • very nice

  • where are u i think i boarded there before it looks really fimilar

  • 60 to 55 ft is the best length which ive found and ive been wakeboarding for 2 years

  • These videos are the best instruction ever

  • how long should a wakeboarding rope be for wakejumping

  • yea i wanna no 2 any1 wanna help us

  • It depends on how fast you are going, how big your wake is, and where the best spot is on your specific boat wake. At 2:54 it pauses for a second. You can see too far back gives you a wake that is curling over (your rope would be too long) and closer to the boat the wake rolls off at the top (not enough pop and height to the wake) In general there is about a 10 foot section in between this where you get a good wake. Faster boat means narrower, smaller wake and slower boat means wide and tall

  • man this is gonna help me, since i started wakeboarding a week ago

it's really clear now, and i hope to do a wake jump tomorrow

  • its a creative touch. they meant to do it

  • lol he moves the camera alot

  • uhh first off great vid man 5 stars itll vastly help me

but dude fire ur camera man plz

its like a toddler filming and just before he started he downed a Redbull

  • Nice Work =P

  • awesome bro.Great soundtrack 2

  • awsome vids although watching your intro everytime gets a bit tedious

  • how much speed It's perfect on the boat to do wakebording?

  • the best speed is usually 15-20 mph depending on what you want

i think slower speeds make a larger wake, as long as its not too slow

  • The faster you go the easier it is to jump the wake, at least in my experience. When I first learned to WB I would go at like 16-17 mph, when I first learned to jump it was at like 22-23 mph.

  • im no expert either you could be right. :P you hear diff things everywhere. i guess whatever you find works best for you

  • great and very helpful video.

    Many Thanks!!!

  • i go wakeboarding all the time and now ill actualy be able to jump yay

  • sweet!

  • where do you find water like that? ! ? !

    i want it!!!

  • its ok i seen it at end credits soz

  • who's the music by at the start??

  • awesome video......this helps me out alot
