  • This is just SOOOOO much better than the new voice...

  • Just the way he says "Put Cap'n Solo in the CARgo hold!" just sounds so menacing. And yes I made cargo caps because he emphasis CAR when hes saying cargo. So yeah Lucas, WHY?!

  • Boba's old voice was so much better. I always picture in my head now that the New Zealand/Australian accent goes away when his helmet is on. Clone or no Clone.

  • If he would just include the original versions in a properly remastered form he could do whatever he damn well pleases to the special editions

  • The fuck? Is THIS what everyone seems to be fapping off about. I watched Star Wars IV-VI when I was a kid and couldn't remember him when this random popularity spike started. Thought I was a fool that didn't pay attention much. Turns out he's just a side character with no scenes directly about him and his character. Fucking hell, what?

  • @Zoomy He looks really cool and has neat weapons.

    That's about it.

  • Is there anything Lucas didn't end up changing??? Jesus H. Christ...

  • Couldn't they just justify the old voice by saying he was injured or something...took a gundark claw to the throat or something...

  • The original is so much more menacing !! He sounds like the killer from Scream

  • The original voice was so much cooler. The new guy sucks. Check out my vids for my Boba Fett hoodie !!

  • My biggest issue with the re-release is the change in Fetts voice. Change what you will but you do NOT mess with boba fett!

  • I know you guys will hate me, but I like morrison's better, to me it just sounds better, but I respect the old school one too

  • Shittily recorded? I respect your opinion, but you don't have to be a dick about it.

  • The "He's no good to me dead" was poorly mixed. All of the others actually sound like they are coming out of his helmet but that one sounds like they just slapped the sound on top of it.

  • @GoonOnFire I agree. It sounds like his voice is coming from offscreen.

  • I miss Jason Wingreen's Boba Fett voice. "As you wish" will never be the same :(

  • Kind of reminds me of HK from KOTOR at some points. I think this would've been better to keep, instead of changing it to Morrison.

  • I do enjoy the original voice more to me this is still his voice. I kinda think it's fitting for his voice to be different also. Yeah he's a clone and all..but it's like when people move countries say someone from England coming to America they start to lose their accent and their voices change after time. And yeah this voice is so much more bad ass xD

  • The original version is way more menacing.

  • Sounds like Michael Hogan.

  • Stupid special editions and CGI crap and switching songs and putting Hayden Christensten as a ghost and... DAMNYOULUCAS Y U DID this to your own movies??

  • I don't mind the Temuera Morrison overdubs, but I wish Lucas had him deliver the lines in a more sinister fashion. But I have a feeling that Lucas told him to sound "nicer."

  • Personally, I like Morrison better.

  • This voice is so lame and out of place

  • Slave 1 is the coolest ship.

  • fuck the prequels.

  • I'm not going to throw a fit over Temuera Morrison being put in instead, but the original sounded better. Though, I appreciate that they tried to add continuity.

  • He kinda sounds like Lee Van Cleef. They shouldn't have changed it.

  • This sounds a bit creepier

  • Boba Fett kicks Chuck Norris in his pussy

  • @SovereignStatesman

thats not true about them being 20 in only 3 years, they age at twice the rate, not seven times the rate of normal people. i know this cuz i watched attack of the clones today:P the stormtroopers are in fact supposed to be clones so i dont know why they didnt dub over their voices

  • @anakinsolo68, Actually, your both right and your both wrong. Some clones were still alive and actually got a serum that slowed there aging to normal, but they had since been replaced by the imperial draft that forced the rich youth to enlist in the Empire. Thats why the Stormtroopers don't sound all the same. (I know this because I am a nerd that knows everything about star wars.)

  • @davidkowalski11

Are you crazy? The voice is similar, but the ACCENT is completely different!

Wingreen is clearly whitebread midwestern American, while Morrison's is the same New Zealand deadpan that we heard for the entire last 2 prequels from Jango Fett and all the clone troopers.

  • "As you brish."

  • @americandodgeball, "He's no good to me dad!"

  • There's practically NO FUCKING DIFFERENCE.

  • @SovereignStatesman To a pleb, no.

  • @combatsambonyc

    To an Anal-retentive douchebag, yes.

Boba Fett changed, so his voice had to change with it.... deal.

  • @SovereignStatesman yes there is a difference and if you can hear it than I do feel sorry for you.

  • @khaiboul0v

I feel more sorry for your English teacher LOL

  • Definitely far better and more sinister.

  • @robotunderpants

You can't judge someone by their voice. Jango Fett was far more sinister and complex, they HAD to use his voice to show him living on in Boba, who was just a kid in the prequels.

  • @SovereignStatesman Not really... They didn't have to use Jango Fett's voice. Anakin had a whinny white boy voice who acquired a deep black man voice. Also why where not all the stormtrooper voices dubbed over with clone trooper voices? They are just clones too. The different voice gives Boba Fett his own identity and should have been left alone, but hey there is no right answer...

  • @9mmparadox

    1. Darth Vader's voice was MECANICAL, since Anakin's vocal-cords and lungs were damaged by heat and smoke.

    2. By Luke Skywalker's time, all the clones were DEAD due to growth-acceleration-- look in Episode III, they had aged 20 years in about 3 years. After that, the empire just recruited their troopers.

    3. You're seriously telling me that ALL the clone-troopers talked exactly like Jango Fett, but Boba wouldn't, despite being personally RAISED by Jango? That's IMPOSSIBLE!

  • @robotunderpants - FUCK YEAH

  • so much better than that new zealander guy

  • Boba fett's best line in the entire star wars saga: "Gettim Dad, Gettim!"

  • @smellokitty ugh... :( haha

  • Boba fett is bad ass either way man ;-)

  • I think both this guy and Jango Fett's actor are good in their own way.

  • I like both voices personally.

  • Agian, no offense whatsoever to Temuera but the original voice by Jason Wingreen is vastly superior ! ! :)

  • I'd have preferred them to have Jason Wingreen re-record all of Jango Fett and the clone's lines in the prequels! Shouldn't you strive to emulate the trilogy that made this series so humongous, rather than change said trilogy to "better" fit the trilogy that less people like?... I don't get the logic.

  • I was thinking of making a tribute to Boba Fett but I'm not sure which song I should use its between Out of my way by Seether or Four Rusted Horses by Marilyn Manson

  • PUT CAPTAIN SOLO IN THE TRUNK

  • @tninbredretard LOL good one

  • @hankheavy Joker's numer one guy! Who could forget him? :)

  • @DarthStarscream1138 he means people that play small rolls

  • @micksquizzy Yes yes that's what I meant. Bob is Joker's number one guy! Didn't you know?

  • @DarthStarscream1138 i dont really watch batman but i do know that the joker is a big character. My apologies

  • much better than the new voice

  • this is the only real boba fett... with a rasp and menacing voice

  • his voice changed from an american to a gay ass fat kiwi motherfuckers voice

  • @MrInception12 You just said Jango Fett is bad. That's A bad move. ;)

  • @DarthStarscream1138 yeah true hes gonna fucking blast me into pieces lol haha sorry jango i apologize but yeah i was joking dude

  • @DarthStarscream1138 Jango Fett was retarded. If he was a bounty hunter, then what the crud was he doing in some giant jedi blowout war? Bounty hunter and mercenary aren't the same thing, his equipment and weaponry is not at all ideal for all out combat like that. His inclusion in the movies at all was even worse. He was just in there to add another familiar character. Star Wars becomes just another whiny teen drama in the new trilogy. The brand was much better off before they were made.

  • @MrZacSpurgeon You can believe whatever you like. But I'm a Star Wars fan and love all 6 movies. Not a one with a narrow view and like only half of it.

  • @DarthStarscream1138 If disliking something that took a beloved part of my childhood and turned it into a whiny teen drama with inexplicably recycled characters and the abomination that is Jar Jar Binks makes me narrow minded, then so be it.

  • @DarthStarscream1138

Just because he doesn't like the prequels doesn't not make him a Star Wars fan, especially if he loves the originals. It's like saying if someone didn't like Alien 3 and Resurection it excludes them from being a fan of the Alien franchise.

  • @martinbarnes8 Ofcuase there are many kinds of fan. He like originals and I like all the films. But he said something I Like (Prequals) are bad and one of my favorite Star Wars chracters (Jango Fett) is retard so.....

  • Love this original voice like the majority of you guys...but....they re-recorded the voice for 2004 remastered DVD Set because they wanted to Tie-In with Episode 2, so it would have the New Zealand voice of Jango. In A WAY it was a cool IDEA but still..this original version sounds more chilling, threatening, nostalgic & makes Boba seem more of an individual.

  • Original voice is 100 times better. Lucas ruins everything he touches now.

  • You put a guy in a bad ass bucket helmet and everybody finds him bad ass awesomeness!!

  • Man his voice was so bad ass. Its like hes the only one that can talk to Vader in a demanding tone and get away with it. Now he just sounds like a pussy. Thanks Lucas, you little bitch

  • @greensucksbluerules ok the guy gave me misinformation

  • This and the young Anakin at the end of Jedi is by far the two worst changes! Fuck off Temuera Morrison.

  • Sounds a lot like the Green Goblin from the somewhat recent Spiderman film.

  • George Lucas needs to give up wrecking these films

  • The original voiceover is 10X better than the Crocodile Dundee bullshit (no offense, Aussies.)

Lucas should have left it the way that it was.

Just like 99.99% of EVERYTHING in the Original Trilogy.

  • Correct voice

  • Did anyone ever notice that Boba's voice in the original edition sounded like he had no helmet on, but was then was changed in the 1997 edition?

  • A new zealand accent desn't sound threatening

  • Damn, Boba's helmet is BADASS

  • boba fett is the biggest badass

  • the only change they should have made was yoda and the lightsabers

    everything else was great

  • Original voice is awful. This makes sense to change his voice. A lot of you guys have an honest opinion but the wrest of you are ridiculous people who cling to there childhood when they're 40

  • @youngboysnation the original voice was far better - dark, menacing, and vengeful. Far better than the flat "new zealander" accent they replaced this with

  • @youngboysnation If the prequels didnt exist i would be in love with this voice. but i always go by film continuity. I dont think boba needed to sound too menacing despite his upbringing but he did need a little bit more feeling. I admit temuera morrison could've done better. He recorded the lines over the phone with george lucas. but i still prefer the 2004 edition

  • @youngboysnation How can you possibly think this voice is awful? Im not 40, im 19 and this is the voice I remember. The new voice was recorded in five minutes over a telephone, thats how much respect Lucas has for his own movies.

  • @dmax631 i exagerated when i said it was awful. i grew up with the older voice. but i still prefer the new voice. and i do agree that lucas was lazy and disrespectful to his best film.

  • @youngboysnation i exagerated when i said it was awful. but i still like the new voice. i grew up with the old voice

  • @youngboysnation How can you like the new voice? theres nothing to like, it's dull, lifeless and makes no sense. Jason Wingreen must be spinning in his grave

  • @dmax631 Damn i didnt know he was dead. RIP. i just think that the only difference is the accent. to be honest i just like it better. I have nothing else to say about it. i really dont care what version george decides on in the future i just prefer this one

  • The original voice is better! I wish george lucas would just stop applying plastic surgery to these movies. He's raping the franchise several times now.

  • I'll be making a fan edit once I have the Blu-Rays, check my youtube status for updates. The goal is to get as close to the original theatrical cuts as possible.

  • Changing the voice is UNFORGIVABLE, the man Is Boba Fett! Not some god damn ewok. If you wanna change voices you best start with jar jar.

  • This is the voice of the TRUE Boba Fett.

  • The new Boba Fett says "he's no good to me DID", but this one says "he's no good to me DAD".

    LOL

  • he sounds so badass!

  • He sounds like a cowboy!

  • Boba Fett > Darth Maul

  • I agree...the original voice was better.

  • Whats this thing in the comments Boba Fett not being evil, he is evil. He's a villain not a hero.

  • it doesn't matter how much you speak, its how cool you are speaking it.

  • blu ray yes i know they changed it by the yoda for episode 1 awesome

  • George Lucas go to hell

  • he sounds like hes trying to hard. -__- I perfer the new voice, this makes him sound evil, hes not supposed to be.

  • @africandude1

He doesn't sound evil, he sounds BAD ASS. Big difference.

  • Yeah, this Boba Fett definitely had a more sinister tone than the re-recorded version! This movie scared the crap out of me as a child.

  • this was the only addition to the original trilogy that made me hate Lucas

Boba Fett was my idol growing up

literally the coolest man in the universe

and they totally destroyed him by re-recording the voice with that fucking kiwi actor

    FUCK YOU LUCAS

  • Their voices actually sound really similar besides the accent. Not sure why Lucas changed it. Gives a nice distance between Boba and Jango/rest of the clones. Although, did Boba have the accelerated growth like the rest of the clones? Because if that's the case then it makes sense.

  • @7BillionAndDying he didnt have accelerated growth thats why Jango treats him like a son

  • Listening to this I wouldn't doubt for a second that Boba Fett's original voice inspired how Bungie wanted Master Chief to sound.

  • They should've made a sub-movie with Fett after Empire and one when he escapes from the Sarlaac pit. And this is the voice of the Baddest man in STAR WARS.

  • I am a big fan of temurea morrison but i like this version a lot better

  • @MustangGT691 xD I'm a big fan of Bounty Hunters :D, but I must admit, that this is the creepyest voice of all of them, doesn´t? n_n

  • @flashdesunamic yes he does and it fits boba so perfectly

  • God, ever since they changed his voice; I just HATE the old voice. It makes Boba Fett sound too dark, like a shadow figure. At lease the New Zealand voice makes him sound far more agile (speed over strength is better) like a Crocodile Dundee kind of warrior, and most of all, the new voice humanizes him more, showing he's not just a dark warrior, he's an actual person like anyone else in Star Wars.

  • @JediDanD I agree. I wouldn't mind them using either audio track. But, I can feel how the voice actor here is trying a bit too hard to sound tough, gruff and evil.

  • Sounds a lot like the green goblin from the Spider Man movie.

  • characters like Boba fett, H.U.N.K, and Adrian Shepard background stories should never be reveled their mystery of make them so badass

  • 19 people are George Lucas and his clones ! ! LOL

  • The original voice is far superior (no offence to Temuera though, his voice was good for Jango) and very sinister ! !

  • man who is this voice actor? it sounds so familiar, like ive heard it in video games or cartoons before. Way better than the new one. And although boba is a clone of jango, since he has aged at a normal rate he may have had experiences that changed his voice from his 'fathers' so leaving the old voice wouldnt have been so cannon breaking.

  • @stnason2641 lol if only i read the description. still awesome, and i know ive heard the voice elseware.

  • this voice is so much more badass. its the kind of voice that prtty much says "dnt mess with me bitch!" much better than the Jango version

  • This voice is sooooooooo much better then Jango fett, it's not even a question.

    i hate george lucas

  • @dmax631 agreed. lucas ruins things

  • I understand that Accents are not genetic, but he grew up with his father and a bunch of Concordian Mandalorians that all had the same accent. So it makes sense he has his father's accent.

  • The original voice sounded better. Although I like Temuera Morrison as Jango Fett, Boba Fett's old school voice is better for differentiating the two characters. Also, the original voice sounds more threatening and menacing.

  • even though some of the changes in the films were good, i have to admit that this voice sounded a lot more threatening

  • @LOVEABLEGOURGEOUSMAN dude none of the changes were good. except maybe smoothing out the underside of the landspeeder

  • Lucas shouldn't have changed the voice. Despite the fact that they are genetically identical, so much of how we speak is determined by our surroundings as we grow up. Boba Fett was brought up in a far different setting than Jango and thus his voice SHOULD be different.

  • I love the froggy voice, there's no reason for them to change his voice.

  • Does anyone know if there is a version that doesn't have the altered voice (Wingren's voice, that is), but I don't mean the unaltered DVD versions, though?

Has anyone modded a version which keeps everything the way it is on the 2004 DVD except Boba Fett's original voice is retained? Because that is my only real complaint about the DVDs :P

  • The original recording makes him sound much more "weathered" and hardened. It gives him a no-bull presence that best suits his mysterious look and the type of character he's trying to portray. The new version sounds like he's still out of boot camp and is eager to make his mark.

  • @xj220 "Weathered and hardened." Well said!

  • To the comments that are in favour of Wingreens voice simply because it makes fett sound more villainous. That's what makes Morrison better for the role. Fett's no villain, he's just man working for a living.

  • I like old boba :P

  • 0:08 sounds like recorded over the film... the distortion is absent.

  • 19 people were Disintegrated.

  • Like this one better. Sounds more "alien-y" (yeah, I watched too much Pee Wee's Playhouse back in the day). I agree with Thrasher305 that he sounds more mysterious and villainous than Temeura, but no disrespect to him.

  • I didn't grow up watching the old trilogy. But I have to say the old version sounds a lot better. Makes him sound like a more mysterious and sinister villain. The new one sounds like he was in and out to record the dialogue.

  • I'm not opposed to the Temeura voice-acting on any kind of principle (except that it's unneeded, but whatever). It's just that Bulloch gives Boba the right "feel." Morrison just sounds bored with the role. Whenever I compare the two, I just imagine Morrison being called away from the set of Revenge of the Sith, told to read a few lines into a mic, and rushing through it to get back to dressing as a Clone Trooper.

  • I'm hearing Michael Hogan.

  • I love small characters that somehow manage to leave sucha great impression to the audience. My favorites are probably Boba Fett and Bob the Goon from Batman 1989.

  • @hankheavy you saw the nostalgia critic's video of batman 89 vs dark knight where he said Bob the goon is like "the boba fett of batman" and explains that Bob barely does anything but he really leaves an impression on you

  • @elcap22 Well spotted, my friend, but to be honest. I've been a huge Bob the Goon fan since I was a kid. I even had the Bob action figure. And yes, I saw Nostalgia Critic, but Bob left an impression on me when I was like 7 or 8 years old. And so did Boba Fett.

  • @hankheavy LMFAO!!! Bob the Goon fucking rules!!! Him and Boba are the prime Ensemble Darkhorses of cinema.

  • So fucking good.

  • I like both voices. Stop saying this is how it should be and all that stuff, you can watch the theatrical version if you want and forget about the edited one. I think the new voice goes with him well though.

  • This is and will be the only voice of Boba Fett forever, the Jango one makes me cringe!

Infact, i'd rather had not known the back story of Boba and just let the mystery surrounding that character do it's thing.

  • This is how it should be.

Now he's just a clone trooper with Mandalorian Armor .

  • @startmirca You forget that clones essentially ARE Mandalorians. Besides, the voice is Badass either way, so it doesn't matter much.

  • Comment removed

  • I like the voice now. Menacing

  • This is rather 50/50 for me.

On one hand, I like how Lucas made another attempt at connecting the two trilogies together. It really makes the viewing experience of both more fun in the connections.

On the other hand, the fact that this voice was in our minds for so long made it almost a sin to hear it changed. There could've been some in-universe explanation like "His helmet gives him a different voice" or "his vocal cords got scarred" or something along those lines.

  • Shoudn't all the storm trooper's have this voice too

  • @wheelblack35

Yes and no. By the time of A New Hope and the original trilogy, the Jango stormtroopers were slowly being replaced by other clone templates or actual human conscripts, to the point that the Jango stormtroopers became a minority.

  • 4 lines and aim that makes storm troopers seem skilled. He goes out like a punk, and yet he's still so very popular. Why?

  • If this trend continues by the time we get to the blu-rays hayden will replace james earl jones! 0_0

  • Lucas how could youuuuuu!?!?

  • if 3rd world countries had a dollar for every time george lucas made a change to one of his movies there would be no poverty over there

  • hopefully when they put out the blu-ray editions of the star wars saga next year they will give us the feature of choosing which audio we want to hear

  • @Kingdom007Hearts That won't happen, I can assure you of that.

  • @TheUnluckyTug02 yeah it sucks. i am not a fan of the prequels so i probably wont buy the bluray anyway. i prefer watching my vhs tapes b/c it doesnt have any editing on it.

i.e the who shot first han solo or quiedo?

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of those changes that doesn't especially bother me, but I do prefer the original. Temuera just sounds bored.

  • Why does Lucas feel the need to inject prequel crap into the original trilogy and vice-versa? Can't they just remain separate? I mean, sure, some people don't care either way. Some star wars fans like the prequels. But for those of us who don't, why can't we enjoy the watching the original trilogy on DVD without those constant reminders of Kiwi Boba Fetts and Hayden Christensen force spirits?

  • @jenifaui Because he's overrated artistically and is 100% obsessed with making as much money as is humanly possible. Lucas has always been driven by money, this is why he can't stop manipulating his old films. Every 'new' slightly altered version of his films get released and make him that much more money. The remastered star wars and indiana jones films made him millions.

  • @bpatrice49 Yep. I just wish he cared a
