No, moron, don't skew the facts. Congress as a whole has an 11% approval rating. Aren't there Republican members of Congress? And Clinton never WANTED the GOP to shut down the government. He let it be known that if they shut down the government by not negotiating with him, THEY would be lamed, not him. And guess what? It worked. CLINTON got credit for the Republican initiatives, not Gingrich. That is why he was easily re-elected in 1996.

We should ALL be paying 5 bucks a gallon. Right now, the cost of gas is derived from drilling and refining. However, it should also include the cost to the environment. If so, alternative fuels and mass transit would be as attractive economically as they are socially.

Ultimately, high priced gas might pave the way for more/better mass transit. We'd probably be able to convert freeway lanes.
