  • @KennyboyGM Youre right! I agree. But you know how we humans are... We are very vulnerable! They cant control what s surround them. Too bad for them weakly ones.

  • Pitiful isn't it ?? have you any ideas what the Cambodian kids in Cambodia goese through every day ? scratching for a living. You live in America, the greatest democracy in the world. You have the equal chance and opportunity to exploit the free enterprise of this great land,i would think you take full advantage of what is offered to you.Think boys think, wipe the tears from your mothers eyes.Go forth and take charge, the world is your.

  • Many immigrants came to America empty handed in search for a new fresh start. Long Beach was a hard place to start but it was not the only place to live in United States. In many cases but not all... it's a combination of failed system and failed parenting which allowed kids to enter the wrong path. This apply to all races, not just to our friends, the Khmer people. It's sad to see this. There's no winning for anyone.

  • america has too many poeple, alot of stuckup ,back stabber that why the kid turn out like that

  • my dads friend just got out of jail 2 years ago. He been locked up for 15 yrs, he didnt get deported.

  • How your parents raises you have alot to do with how you turn out. I could have join a gang, but my parents woop my ass good. Almost all my friends do dirt, but I knew better. Parents have to care and show tought love, to keep their kids out of trouble.

  • Dang why we killing each other, i thought the reason we made gangs to protect ourselves, from other gangs.

  • this is a truly moving film.

  • This song is on point.

  • i have family in atl and my cousin just got deported last week. and i heard that the whole riverdale and college park got picked up too. are they going state by state? cuz i'm from n.carolina and i did 2 years i.n.s. after doing 3 years for stealing cars. am i next?

  • @aznshorty18 well said, As I was growing up bad things happened all around me but I don't use that as an excuse to be in trouble with the LAW........ I feel for the Deportees and their love ones, but I also see why deportation…..

  • I feel for the Deportees and their love ones, but their actions led to this seperation and sadness.

    good luck on your journey

  • Thank you for posting your videos. I really appreciate it and want to thank you and many others for spreading awareness and shedding light on this issue. My older brother is also on the deportation list, and like many his of fellow deportees, have a 10 yr old daughter. Most comments I see regarding this issue focus on the returnee's past, and not the issue at hand. Again thank you for the video...

  • Love the music.

Hip hop with a piowerfull message.

  • Even the native American Indians were deported and have been for deported for decades to reservations in hicksville with no infrastructure or running water in their own native USA country.

  • It's really fucked up that Cambodians get deported but not illegals that's coming from Latin american and Mexico. Make no sense.

  • @Hperman09 deportations happened to race when you done WRONG, except for US Citizens

  • @Hperman09 latin-americans are deported everyday.......get your facts right friend.

  • @theworldindepth latin and mexicans get deported everyday cause there border meets ours.. its easy for mexicans and latins to come over the boder.. camboidans have tocome here legal unlike mexicans and latins who sneek across the boder.. so get your facts right before you open your mouth..

  • 2:46 excellent photograph

  • hip hop needs to learn from this. this is real hip hop. not most of the corny shit thats on nowadays.

  • Thats sad

  • the voice of the mother in the begining broke my heart.

  • What are you saying? Immigrant suppost to play God!!!! You US citizen can make mistake and we can't. Everyone make mistake. Nobody is perfect. Everyone deserve second chance and stay with their families.

  • wow... very sad. Hope that lady got the help she needed to stay.

  • i know everywhere there at in uptown lol

  • Policy's should be changed in the country thats receiving them. Cambodia can set a policy that refuses Cambodians that left under a certain age. This will force the US to let them go after the time is served. The US was trying to deport my boy back to Guyana but Guyana refuses anybody thats been away for longer then 20 yrs. He wound up serving the max and let go after.

  • if a white guy watch this video and they know they arent cambodians they would think they are hispanic

  • hes 31 years old. okay people that was able to come to the US were giving the prevalege to make a better living for themselves! if you do crime, you will do time and deportation! simple fucking conclusion! your mothers probably said to you million times, go to school and make me proud my son! this is the land of opportunity!

  • u dont know what it was like being cambodian in this country circa 1986-1996 r u even serious do u think we lived in BEVERLY HILLS or SOME RICH WHITE TOWN like where u hailed from??

We from the worse ghettos of the WORLD in CAMBODIA to the worst GHETTOz of USA!!!

  • I LOVE AMERICA but i hate the racist people as human beings we shouldn't judge one another by our image or race if u hate a person hate them of who they become not hate them because of their race in the USA military there's all kinds of diffrent race fighting to protect AMERICA

  • Fair enough if they deport a person who actually commits a serious crime, but u cant deport their family because of another person. Legislatures who passed this law is definitely xenophobic.

  • I just hate Cambodian gangsters. Please deport them immediately. They make other good Cambodians look horrible, they bring shame to us.

  • @alexee2007

Excuse me. If you know you are poor and you want to get out there, then you need to work hard it. You don't make any sense, you join the gang, because you poor. Are you saying that you will be rich if you join the gang. You commit a crime, then your life will be ruined, you go to jail or you will get killed.

  • when your poor, your parents off working day and night, barely having a family life, no mom no dad to help you with your daily problems, no one to listen to you, that why people join a gang, dumbass, cuz with a gang they have friends they know and in a sense a family, you dumbshit not to mention extra money

  • @DAYOUNGFAB

What are you complaining about? I was an orphan and I did not have anyone. I felt left out, no one loved me. However, I studied hard, because I wanted a better life for myself. I went to college and it took me a long time to finish it, because I had to work many jobs. Now, I am doing ok.

If you are poor and you parents do not speak English. You need to work hard for yourself and for your parents.

  • it was different for you because you were alone and plus those people those origanal refugee's who came here tried to adjust to the culture and the origanal khmer gangsters, they were right, you should respect them, you know why cuz they fucking stood up for us, they fought back against the latinos, the blacks, the whites who discrimanated against us, robbed us, killed us, by the second generation gangsters, i hate them they have lost the origanal will and the righteous

  • @DAYOUNGFAB

I was a refugee who was born in Cambodia. I lost many relatives. Those gangsters stood up??? They create problems and disgrace Khmer people. How they help Khmer? They can help Khmer by getting good education and using their knowledge to help others. Are you proud that your people create problems and become very low ? I am proud of them if they have done something useful. I say deport them all and don't give them any money.

  • @alexee2007 these people they did their time, they rebuilt their lives, they finally listened to their parents and started following their dreams, they started getting jobs and rebuilding their lives, some were actually getting invovled to educate kids about gangs and not to join them,my great uncle,he didn't do anything bad but write a disatisfied letter to someone, complaining about community problems and the dumbass who recieved the letter thought of it as a threat and reported him to the police

  • they sent to jail for a year, released him and the INS called him for some unknown reason and from there we never saw him again he got deported when he already did his time

  • im not trying to say gangbanging is right, but its a way of life, but you have no right to disgrace the origanal refugees who became gangsters, because they did not do it out of the style of it like these 2nd generations, they were raised up in this environment and influenced by this "NEW" culture

  • @alexee2007 it's not as easy when your family is living in a gang infested area, and you have six or more siblings that you need to take care of, and you speak very little english... I'm not justifying their actions, just stating facts. Since I grew up in Stockton, CA - in Oak Park...

  • wow i kno all them,i c how young they was bac in tha dayz....i grew up wit most off them till i moved to California.....i miss u all and muc love and respect......i will c u again my fam bam.....nice song......RIP to my fallen friend anfd love oncez.......khmer love allday everyday......

  • The hoods in America were created by the New World Order to suppress minorities so leaders of the New World will keep their power to overrule. They make you bicker and fight over bullsh*t and then blame the problems on you so they can provide a death solution for you. Until people understand this, and that the drugs and wars were systematically design for mass killings on everyone for the New World Order, people will continue to fall to this system. Revolutionize the mind and resist.

  • DHATZ MY CUZZIN IN 2:40 ON DUH LEFT SIDE OF DUH COUCH ... LoLz.

  • Do you know where Bobby is now? I'd like to contact him if possible.

  • @stuartisett hi there, funny to find you here, i'm the girl who you took fotos for NYT 2008....i hope you find your friend!!! good luck!!!

  • holy shit i know some of these people

  • I want to visit cambodia, i heard of temples and friendly people.

  • C A M B O D I A !!

  • waddup Chicago

  • Go back to your country!!

just kidding. it's really a case of survival in your enviroment. when many refugees came to america, America placed them in the ghettos of America. It is more difficult to change your environment than to be part of it. Of course being surronded by drugs, crime, and violence forces one to adapt to it and even make it their norm. Some to rise above all that Sh1t while others embrace it.

  • i respect what gangs try to stand for when its more of a defensive motive, but when it becomes offensive to other people, u have to start questioning the positive that is really coming out of this. i think its time for khmers to start focusing our energy on making money and education. we've already proven our realness to america. gangsta life is apart of american roots. every new immigrant that came to america usually has sometype of gangsta or gangbang beginning. but, its been 20 years now.

  • i guess the fuked up thing is that some of these who are deported were sent back home for crimes that was done many years before they even came up with this deporting thing. so its just one messed up situation.

  • maybe its not a bad idea for some of these people to go back to cambodia and see how tough some peoples lives are

  • they arent deporting khmers back because they think we have khmer rouge blood. they deporting because prison was design to stop people from commiting crimes. the problem with cambodian youths and gangs is that this culture has become glorified in the youth. which means little boys and little girls would rather grow up to be a criminal then someone that is, let say an economically productive individual.

  • i'm an english guy and i've lived in cambodia for 4 years. it 's a great country to live in. with great people.

but commit crime over here and your in the shit. if you want to make a life somewhere you have got to follow the rules and show respect, and joining a gang is is not the best of ideas. i'm sure alot of khmers would love to have a chance of living and working in the u.s.a.

  • Some people abuse their freedom. The lesson here is that there's a consequence for for doing so.

  • people please stop joinging gans. or if you do, please dont shoot other people and dont steal people cars or ro bstores and you wont have any problems with the police.

  • Instead of thinking of how its fucked up for our people to get sent back, stop and think about how we're over here in the US fuckin their country up. I mean, how would you feel if white folks went to live in cambodia and started a white gang there?? And after repeatedly telling them to stop over and over again, nothings change...Think logically. Put yourself in their situation. Don't think there's no consequences for the crimes you commit. This is just a sad case but a good example.

  • no matter how hard we enforced with this stereotype. I love being Cambodian.

  • I just want to say that I support Cambodian refugees. I know that they are victims of the US and the Khmer Rouge, among other things... they have suffered so much and they deserve understanding and support. I respect Khmer culture and its people, so my heart goes out to them wherever they are. I think they deserve monitary compensation from the US Govt for the damage done to their neutral country in the war and the resulting genocide.

I hope Cambodia and its people, wherever they are, can heal.

  • My prayers goes to his mother.

  • its not as bad as ppl think. cambodia is a beautiful place. better to be there than in jail lol.

  • @thyson except for high umemployment rate, human rights violations, and government corruptions... other than that life is a piece of cake!

  • what did they do to report back to cambodia?

  • Anyone sentenced to more than 1 year in jail can be sent back. Some have obviously done serious crimes but served their time in jail. Some have been deported for domestic violence charges, one man for 'public urination', quite a few for drug charges.

  • oh wow. thats is something. hmm interesting. but one year in prison and deport? thats crazy. well i hope they will learn from it and be a better person in srok khmer ;)

  • its fucked up we got deported why these illegals and mexicans do watver the fcuk they want why we get deported, itz fucked

  • @mskatwoman022008 basically 3 strikes or sometimes stuff they did along time ago and they brought it back up

  • back to Minearkhmer, it is the other corner of Khmer. not only confusion eyes. Sweet love and Hope is for Cambodia.

  • Where can I get his (Dalama) cd

  • They r curently sold out, so you have to w8 lol ;)

  • Where can I get his (Dalama) cd

  • This seems unfair, these men are the product of the society they were put in and after making mistakes and serving their time, they find out they have to be sent back to their country that they know nothing about? They shouldn't be involved in gangs, but for they guys in their mid to late 30s it was their way of surviving. This is complete BS there are people who need to be deported more than these guy.

  • Who rap this song ?

  • The music is by Khmerican rapper Prach Ly.

  • I met this dude he's from your favorite hood ABZk from N/S Long Beach!!!

  • i think as a Khmer community we should care. if we don't care about this at least we should care about the underserved community that struggle for justice. Whether we care or not, these men should have a fair hearing in immigration court before the punishment of deportation. These men are 'Refugees' under UNHCR. and should not be sent back. If the process for these men parents to become US citizen was easier without being stuck in the innercity poverty system ..the outcome would not affect us.

  • I love the music and the story behind it.

  • i agreevwith ujayet

  • dam das the saddest part. he hangs himself. so sad.

  • That was kinda fucked up, he hangs himself

  • who hangs himseft.?

  • the guy who got deported, his mom was talking at the first part of the video

  • shit man big difference usa and cambodia taken yo life is the easy way out..here bangin is knives and guns, there its machete and samurai sword type shit

  • The video does not support what you're writing, you're talkin' bout cambodian kids getting deported to a country they don't know much about, and yet your showing nonthin' but cambodian gang members in every pic,..and i'm suppose to feel sorry for them??! well no shit huh!! they deserve it!

  • I don't think the real purpose is to make you feel sorry for them. Often I don't ,but I feel pain for the families, the family that they left behind did not deserve this. Their children that they left behind did not commit any crime for them to get the punishment as well. On the hand, gang members in the pics shows the reality of life as young Khmer men growing up. If this is not the pic that you see growing up, congrats to you. you are the model minority. I also struggle like them.

  • hey Chhive see you when i go visit the homeland hope you are doing good for yourself ,hope this message gets to you

    one life-one love

  • This is fuccin long time ago so don t even worry u can t do any thing about it.

  • much respect to all the Khmer OGs.

  • tigerstyle900.. thats in easy question to answer!! if you commit a crime u get SETENCED a jail bid, which you have to serve for your CRIME YOU COMMITED!! 1yr 2yr 3yr ect it doesnt matter, if your sentenced you have to serve your time.. then when you have served your time they are eligible to deport you.. juss like if an american citizen went to cambodia and violated a law!! they would make him serve his time then release him to the united states!! yes it is fucked up, but wat can we do??

  • Well bush created the deportion law, now that obama is in power we should ask for a new appeal to the law

  • Actually Clinton signed the law in 1996, Bush started enforcing it more.

  • But american citizens doesn't not become perminent resident of Cambodia. Actually america is the only country that the human rights surveyed that has mandatory deportation without due process. These men didn't even have an immigration hearing(before an immigration judge) before they get deported because of certain crime they committed. Other countries , no matter how much time you serve or what the crime is , the immigration at least consider other factors..such as family in the country etc.

  • Gangs come out of poverty and most khmer came here as penny-less refugees and had to stick with the people they trusted not the people calling chinks and all that shit, alot of khmer people escape through the land mine filled jungles of cambodia to thailand and then come to a country where its pretty much communist too,my homie spent 9 years in prison then did his time and got out for a week then got deported tell me why they had to lock him up 9 years frist and didnt say shit when he was locked.

  • gotta say that shit is fucked up my uncle got locked up for 2 years and then six-months later while he was at my lil ro's birthday, the Ins people knovked on our door and told him, he's getting deported

  • Some homies can't even go take their citizenship test & they ain't never been to the pen, may be just juvy & county, but that ain't shit, they still can't take the test, now thats some real bullshit man if that ain't I don't know what is.

  • why cry now?? when we commit crimes we all know the aftermath!! but we still choose to gangbang and commit felonies!! im against deportation but what the fuck can we do if the owner of the house is evicting us!!!!!!!! have a sense of pride and stop crying and take your consequences like a man!! its 2009 and if your in the process of getting deported all that meens is we didnt take the first deportees as an example!! so if anything you deserve to get deported if your still commiting crimes!!!!

  • Do u even know that they are pickin on Khmer.becuz we came from killing field.the USA they think that we still got the khme rouge blood.

  • You know alot of these fools when they get out the pen, their actually working full-time,some are going to school & finnish school so they can do what they wanna do,after 3 to 4 years of being free they get deported, some were even working as Gang-Prevention counslers,& they still got deported, some were deported for minor shit like peeing in public or shop lifting a candy bar,now tell me man ain't that fucked tup?

  • Sok508. I don't think the real issue is about manning up to the punishment. The issue is 'refugees' ' deportation laws'. These men (most) have been the US for a long time. Growing up, they did not know the double punishment of a sentence as growing up in poor neighborhoods. It would be the last thing that they thought of. They grew up as americans like you and all of us in the US. Society makes them who they are. That should be considered in an individual case by case in immigration court.

  • Peaple should do something about this she only have her son left. They don t know how hard is Khmer rouge was.

  • yo your family risked their lives to save their children from hell like the khmer rouge, and yet young kids grow up gang-banging and dont realize what their family been thru just to bring them here only to see them follow a life of crime and get shot up on the streetz thats what u call fucked up

  • damn,, dats some deep shit right dere i feel ya.

  • the khmer O.G'z

  • fukd up

  • much love to all ma khmer

  • What's the name this first and second songs

  • wow, some fucked up shit

  • to all my homies , bothers, and soldiers keep ur head up

    one life , one love

  • this is sad
