@boiy132 I think the beginning of Days reflects this scene as to give the game more depth about the friendship between the two. After all, Final Mix was released two years before Days.

This scene takes place as Roxas is fighting Sora in the 'mind-battle'. It happens as soon as sora slashes roxas with the kingdom key. Roxas walks a bit, stumbles, falls over and his hood falls down. This secen takes place, then roxas gets back up and tells sora he 'makes a good other' so yes, axel is 'dead', roxas is gone, and none of this actually -physically- happened. Its all in the mind.

You know, this scene and the whole Roxas/OrgXIII storyline as a whole wouldn't have had half as much of an emotional impact on me (and been even more confusing) if I hadn't played 358/2 days first. I'm glad I did play it first. I still bawled at the end of course even w/o knowledge of Sora, this ending, etc.

Also, this is random, but anyone remember howat the begginning of KhII when Roxas first fought the thief, the Nobody spoke, "We have come for you, my liege". Pherhaps the means that Dusks can actually speak, as well as other forms of Nobodies, not just the Organzation. Maybe Heartless can even speak!

I like to think that Axel had a heart. I keep thinking of this saying in Bleach which states, "Whenever people grow close, a heart is born between them. It isn't inside our bodies. Whenever we care about something, whenever we care about another person a heart is born." I love this saying so much.
If that's the case then Axel certainly had a heart. Namine didn't really get too close to anyone, but I believe she was forming a bond between Sora and them and therefore had a heart also.

@Ariani101 WELL, if you want some hope for Axel's return. We know Kingdom Hearts III is about Xehanort being reborn. Because when a persons Heartless (Ansem from KHI) and Nobody (Xemnas From KHII) are defeated, the person is reborn. So its POSSIBLE, that Axel could be reborn as Lea.

I think what just happened was axel had already died, but he was saying goodby to roxas. And I also believe that the teardrop was axel's, which proves that axel does have a heart.
I think that Roxas never returned to the Sora's heart.
He had another life when Sora try to find Riku in kh2...that's why Roxas appear in TWTNW (and speak with axel in this scene). Maybe b4 the axel's death, Roxas speak with axel (and appear this cutscene).
2: 57 - Perhaps in that part, Roxas was going to TWTNW to return to the Sora's Heart (that explain why Roxas appear in twtnw).
@LinkMan2000 Think you're right, Roxas had to come back to Sora because he had part of his memory and that was only because of what Naminè did. So once he did he could live on his own without causing any problem to Sora.

And that still doesn't explain how Roxas obtained his own separate (though temporary) corporeal being with which to meet up with Axel. The whole thing is a bit confusing ^^;

But I guess I didn't clarify, this cutscene appears after Sora defeats Roxas, but before Roxas says "You make a good other" Somehow he and Axel make their final farewells, consciencely in a way even though Axel is dead. It is pretty confusing, I suggest finding the Sora vs Roxas vid from final mix with all the cutscenes in it to get your own interptation of this if you haven't already.
I can't help but have the feeling that those two are not over. After all, they said "see you" instead of "farewell". It would have been easy to clearly put and end to them if they had said "farewell" but they didn't... Must be a reason for they hadn't. I don't know, maybe I'm just too optimistic.
@eduardoguerrero28 this scene wasn't in the english verison of KH2. They only use english vas for the old stuff in final mixs, the new scenes are in japanese.

Waitaminute, something's wrong with this scene. it doesn't fit anywhere into the KH timeline. When Roxas leaves the Organisation and stops talking to Axel, he STILL doesn't know he's part of Sora, and all the way right up till Riku captures him, he has very little clue. After that, he gets transported to Diz's Digital Programme, then he's fused with Sora. Before that happens, he fights Axel with no memory of his time with Axel. So how does this thing happen? Making no sense.
@Yamibakeru it's right after axels death, a part of roxas come back alive, that's how he can fight sora later. Roxas merged with sora in the beggining of KH II but it's not fully succesfull, it is in the end

Honestly,I'm starting to think these conversations are just fake and don't really belong in the story at all,Kingdom Hearts has the story depth of a fat man's belly button,and the deeper you go,the less sense the story makes!!

But I guess I didn't clarify, this cutscene appears after Sora defeats Roxas, but before Roxas says "You make a good other" Somehow he and Axel make their final farewells, consciencely in a way even though Axel is dead. It is pretty confusing, I suggest finding the Sora vs Roxas vid from final mix with all the cutscenes in it to get your own interptation of this if you haven't already.

I can't help but have the feeling that those two are not over. After all, they said "see you" instead of "farewell". It would have been easy to clearly put and end to them if they had said "farewell" but they didn't... Must be a reason for they hadn't. I don't know, maybe I'm just too optimistic.

we can choose japanese or english in theater mode.
so when i played final mix, in this scene there was no voice.

It's Axel's tear. If you look closely, you will see something fall from his eyes as he speaks. It helps if you have the clips downloaded.

Waitaminute, something's wrong with this scene. it doesn't fit anywhere into the KH timeline. When Roxas leaves the Organisation and stops talking to Axel, he STILL doesn't know he's part of Sora, and all the way right up till Riku captures him, he has very little clue. After that, he gets transported to Diz's Digital Programme, then he's fused with Sora. Before that happens, he fights Axel with no memory of his time with Axel. So how does this thing happen? Making no sense.

@Yamibakeru it's right after axels death, a part of roxas come back alive, that's how he can fight sora later. Roxas merged with sora in the beggining of KH II but it's not fully succesfull, it is in the end
