when there is not a load on the engine the pressure in the manifold is actually negative until the boost builds enough to cause positive pressure in the manifold. the turbo size is a factor as to what rpm boost will start to become positive. It is usually around 2k when there is a load (press gas pedal way down) on the engine. when you press the gas you are acutally just allowing more air to reach the engine.
Ur an Idiot!!!! That's y they are called "Twin Turbos," because both turbos produce the same amount of boost. + The TT Z's r really define the term "TWIN" -2 Turbos -2 intakes -2 Blow Off Valves -2 Intercoolers -2 Individual piping from downpipe to Exhaust Tip. + 2 sets of Intercooler Piping Don't 4 Get!!!! 2 Throttle Bodies 2 Sets of Camshafts to = 4 in Total 2 Sets of Cam Gears to = 4 in Total
good spin in 2nd.....i can usually catch a sqeel but not spin real good in second. still gettin adjusted to it and workin on it i have a 300ZX mines a 87 though
hmm nope his oil pressure is alright . If the car is warm.. if thats it when its cold id seriously be doing an oil change or checking levels but for a Z warmed up thats fine.
nice wheel spin hitting 2nd ;) haha.:D
and Hitman what your friend may ahve been getting at is he needs a TURBO timer to stop the oil "COOKING" in the turbo's if you turn the car off straight after stopping. should always let a turbo cool off for at least 30 seconds after driving.
Nice sound! I have a friend who bought this same car a few months ago and he told me that because of the turbo, you have to be careful before turning it off because it may start to overheat.
The car has what's known as a turbo timer. after you take the key out, the engine runs for 60sec to cool the oil in the turbos so they don't wear prematurely.
The reason you let it idle a couple minutes before shutting it off is to let the turbos slow down and stop spinning. Shutting off the engine shuts off their oil supply, don't want them spinning with no oil. Ball Bearing turbo's don't have this problem.
yep! that's why you get turbo tiers, so it knows when to turn the engine 'off' we had that problem on our old S14 200SZ we were going to put a turbo timer on it, but we just sold it instead lol, got a 4.0 straight six, TWR jag now :p
i have a question. ive been lookin at 300zx's a lot lately. but i see that most low milage ones are automatics and theyre cheaper. how much did u spend to change over the tranny?
actually 300zx gears are kinda long lol u can take 3rd over 100mph.. anything over 7k is risking engine ..it dont bounce off the revelimiter at 7 but i alwasy shift a bit b4 7.. like 6.7 or 6.8k
accually you can do alot with meth in an n/a car. You can increase the compression greatly and advance the timing up the waz. it greatly increases the cylinder pressure. plz don't flame people as you have no idea what you are talking about.
goddamn... i drive an e36 BMW M3, and i STILL miss the power made from my 300ZXTT... mine was at 367bhp, but it still pulled HARD... man i need to turbo my M3, im missing booooost
One thing you should change in the UO Pulley kit is the water pump pulley. You should get the overdrive water pump pulley (Blizki H.I.) My Z runs way cooler than before and less damaging to anything under the hood and boost runs more consistent because it reduces heatsoak. I have the UO pulleys too but replaced the water pump one.
GO with a carbon fiber driveshaft. Just make sure its balanced correctly before installation. Ive heard GREAT things about CF driveshafts over Alum ones. Also, ever think about going big single turbo?
No nitrous/meth, what about water injection did u leave that out 2.? & Y not mention Co2 spraying on intercoolers,O ya intercoolers are only on boostin cars not AllMotor cars.
Cmon buddie do ur research. Only Boostin cars use meth Idiot. So thats still a turbo/supercharged car, making it not ALLMotor/NA.
Street racing rules are not hard. No Meth? Peeps have meth kits so that they can boost higher on pump gas without detonation. Higher the Boost the more HP. If U have boost ur not AllMotor
for the retard above. All motor means NO FORCED INDUCTION. (Supercharger, Procharger, Turbocharger, Nitrous) Anything that has any of those i just listed, is not ALL MOTOR. N/A - All Motor (Naturally Aspirated). FI - Boosted Cars (Forced Induction) Stop watching Fast and the furious and learn something real about cars.
Nitrous, like supercharging and turbocharging is a method of delivering more oxygen to the combustion chamber than would be present in an un-assisted condition. So they are all classified as forced induction.
Nice Z. Don't rev so high, you've got plenty of torque to work with.
Idiot... Whos talking bout boost? Im talkin bout if u boost or spray its not Allmotor for any car. Allmotor means N/A,Muscle or Rice. When u add Turbo, then its no longer Allmotor. As long as u dont boost/Spray, u can do anything to the motor.
- Stroke,Port & Polish,Bore,Hybrid Motor TypeR Headw/LS bottom half,to get most HP/lbft.TQ out of any Integra Motor)Of Course Bolt Ons too. Just No Boosting or Spraying. Ive seen & raced 250-650hp+ Allmotor Cars. From Honda Hatches, to the Z06s&Camaros
To anyone who has a Z32 TT, I'm in the process of buying one and I hear that the stock boost guage on the is highly inaccurate, that's my most get aftermarket, ist that true?
Whoever considers Nos as ALL Motor is an idiot, & proabably races for money, & says he's all motor when he's spraying. Maybe u Honda guys out there consider NOS as all motor, but if there was a vette, or camaro spraying, 50 100 150 200 even 250 shot, would u consider that all motor? Some NOS kits give u more power than turbos or superchargers. So how is NOS All Motor?
They mark ur car @ the track to see if it's Nos equipped or not, to change ur drag class.
Man, this sailorjason guy is clueless and hasn't seen an actual "nitrous" bottle before has he? I can't believe he tried to correct you with NOS vs. nitrous.
Sailor Jason. NOS means 'N'itrous 'O'xide 'S'ystem.
psi means pressure(pounds per square inch). Doesn't just apply to cars. Usually turbo's, blowers, and superchargers, all force air in to the engine.(force induction) This rate/pressure @ which the air flows is called(psi)
But your engine oil, is measured in psi, and so are your tires air. PSI is everywhere
you may laugh at me, i actually have 91 300zx TT as well. i used to have a 94 sentra xe, so..i'm new with cars and i've only had the Z for a few months, still learning a lots of the stuff on the dash.
i've google psi before, i knew it stands for psi but, what difference does it mater when the psi is positive or negative, again, don't laugh at my noobieness :(
Turbo's have intercoolers/pop chargers..etc to increase the air travel from beginning to end so cooling will happen. Because of this, when u step on the gas, it takes a split second for that air to reach ur engine . (Lag) -PSI
The second that air gets into your engine, it starts becoming more and more +PSI (No Lag)
so let me put it this way, turbo PSI is the amount of air thats tranveling into the engine, the high the PSI the faster the air are going into your engine?
The air is traveling faster because ur turbo spools up more and more, but the air coming into the engine is also getting denser as well as colder when it's reaching peak boost.
Ok... you do have a pretty good grasp on the turbo idea but you are off a little bit. pop chargers are more of a nissan thing not turbos. Also the lag from having vacuum in stead of pressure is due to the exhaust not spinning the turbo fast enough yet not how long it takes for the air to travel through..
used to be an Auto 91 TT with 196,000 miles for 4 $3,500.....Then I ripped out old motor/tranny & put in... JDM Motor/Tranny 5spd (55,000 KM) JWT ECU JWT Single Pop Charger JWT Aluminum Flywheel JWT Severe Duty Clutch JWT Sport 500's (Turbos) Greddy Profec-B Boost Controller Stillen Side mount Intercoolers CZP Downpipes 2.5" Testpipes Borla Exhaust SSR D5-R Rims 18x9.5F 18x10R a lot more parts not mentioned due to lack of character count........
are you sure u dont have a knock sensor issue? or any kind of ECU code.. (your CE light is on) You probably are on "safety boost" .. U barely reached "10psi" which is more like a 7psi (safety boost) (stock gauge not being accurate)... you should check your codes.
You may already know this, but the stock boost gauges on z's are notorious for being a few psi under the actual number. car sounds good and definately seems quick nice job
yeah, my z got that "check" warning let on when i was trying to push it hard. a mechanic told me coz its running lean, a/f ratio need to be retunned . correct?
I have full exhaust, (downpipes)(which kill O2sensors) which make my engine light come on and off depending on how much exhaust is blowing by my O2 sensors. watch ur 02 sensors...cause u'll eventually end up in my shoes. Right Now my engine light is off too

plzzzdontsnitch 2 years ago
8 PSI
robertuemura 2 years ago
@robertuemura can you get more boost out the stock turbos
KillerKyle94 1 year ago
3 Basic but main contributing factors to achieving High Boost.
1.) Stock Injectors 330cc's Maxed out @ 13.5/14PSI
2.) Stock Internals Pistons N Rods Mainly can only hold between
400-650+RWHP (RARE with Perfect Tuning) Z32power.com
3.) 91 Octane Gas (CALI) starts to have detonation after 15PSI so u need
a Meth Kit/Race Gas to go beyond that, but always have proper tuning.
& of course your turbos Ultimately decide how much PSI u can BOOST after u solve these 3 issues. OEM turbos Maxed@17-19PSI

I have full exhaust, (downpipes)(which kill O2sensors) which make my engine light come on and off depending on how much exhaust is blowing by my O2 sensors. watch ur 02 sensors...cause u'll eventually end up in my shoes. Right Now my engine light is off too
