They are very polite civilized people taken on the whole. There are a**holes anywhere but, by far I've encountered way more of them in the good ol US of A than in France, thank you very much!! The character is funny, but he does not personify the REAL French. Plus, isn't the character supposed to be from Quebec? Just sayin'.
