Love this video from step 1: He seems to already find it challenging to get the ice into the shaker and needs all of his concentration. He seems to be to slow to put step 2 and 3 together. Than pours the wrong liquor (that was Disarono not Amaretto). He uses pouring spouts no problem but is to under equipped for a spout on the dark rum bottle? His Highball glass, Up glass, Cocktail glass and Rocks glass are all the same to him (looking at his other vid's). He looks as if i'm serving this to him!
@Schandmowl It douse matter, that is like saying that wines made from a Merlot and Pinot Noir grapes are the same wine. They are complete different wines. The flavors, aroma, body, character, tannins, alcohol percentage etc, are all different and affect the outcome from the product. When you change ingredients you create a different drink. By your logic if a guest orders a Bombay Sapphire and tonic, you can serve a Gordon's Gin instead it's only a JUST A BRAND NAME... Attention To Details counts
@Thunderbrow1 Yeah you're right, but if the recipe says "Amaretto / almond liquor" it's the same as it would say: "vodka" in another recipe, so it's up to your personal preference. For example a simple screwdriwer recipe says "vodka", so I'll prefer Russian Standard and someone else might prefer "absolut". But I DO agree that when someone orders specifically (like your example with the bombay) that it wouldn't be the same with gordon's.
@Schandmowl I completely understand your arguments. The narrator specifically mentions Amaretto not Disaronno or almond liquors (that is what I was criticizing not the creation of the cocktail). It just showed that the shooting of the video and the narrating had bad to no communications.
PS. If I came off as a douce-bag, I was not trying to be mean or anything I just could not be bothered to word my comment better after a long day. Sorry if I offended you (and for the incorrect grammar).
@Schandmowl I haven't ever been to America (neither north nor south) I have grown up in Europe and have achieved my Hospitality Management diploma and I have learned for the places I have worked (and school of-cource) that details are what make or break a guests stay and we do all of this for them. That's why I take these things so sirius. It's just that for me that high standards matter and if I see a colleague achieving under the standard bar I will approach him or her. But thats just me. :D
No measurements. They made a nice video but it dosent teach you what it should. That bartender is wearing the same shirt all the time, Did they made all these videos in one day?... and who's bar did they use, they wasted all their liquor lol.

Exactly. I'm only 16, but I'm a much more experienced drinker than people would think. And everybody I know that's my age says the same exact thing. They all think that amaretto tastes like Dr. Pepper.
* 2 oz light rum * 2 oz dark rum * 2 oz passion fruit juice * 1 oz orange juice * juice of a half a lime * 1 Tbsp simple syrup * 1 Tbsp grenadine * orange slice and cherry for garnish
Preparation: 1. Squeeze juice from half a lime into shaker over ice. 2. Pour the remaining ingredients into the cocktail shaker. 3. Shake well. 4. Strain into a hurricane glass. 5. Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.

@Thunderbrow1 No problem. Maybe it was a misunderstanding, because for me (and most people in my country), Amaretto is the same as almond liquor

Correct recipe:
1. Go to New Orleans
2. Find Pat O's
3. Order a Hurricane
4. Keep the glass
5. Buy hurricane mix on your way out.
6. Make sure you still have ten bucks to pay for parking.

It's Amaretto. And it's an almond-flavored liqueur, that many people say tastes like Dr. Pepper.

It's called a hurricane because it's supposed to look like the sky after a hurricane. "A sunny sky chasing the clouds away"
