  • This guy is brilliant. I love the way he sings. Are there any more videos of him?

  • i am doing this this year at my school and i want to be laurie so bad!

  • Its only when one watches some of the other amateur productions on here that one realises just how good this one is!

But then I guess it had bucket loads of dollars hurled at it through sponsorship and has some good hard working behind the scenes crew!

The cast list is enormous, also helps when the lead players are good singers / actors / dancers!

Even the video is professional - always helps. Just a pity the sound balancing was a bit soft (and late) on some of the vocals.

    TOP SCORES 4 ALL

  • were doing this play nd our curly is awesome nd not to brag but we have the best ali hackum EVER! its so funny

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this whole production, I watched all 43 parts! It was absolutely the best! Thanks for posting the whole show to Youtube! Your school and director are to be commended!

  • This is Hutch Dano if he could sing!

  • Curly looks a lot like Hutch Dano........ hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • i am in a broadway camp that i have to learn this play in 2 days!!!

  • Jeez,

Get over it. The entire renaissance wouldn't have happened without the "gays". And etc, etc. And who really cares about that any more. Gay, straight, bi, man, woman, we are all sisters and brothers under the skin. Let's move on.

  • I love it. I was sitting in my apartment in Perth, Western Australia and I suddenly hit on this. What a terrific effort you guys have made. Be proud of it.

  • he's cute and he has an awesome voice, awesome!!!

  • Wow what a great voice!

  • what song did you use for the begining?

  • He's kinda hot, and in those leggings a bit of a gay icon.

  • I disagree with a few comments: Curly sounds and looks great - a performance to be proud of! If anything a hint of criticism for the percussion section: it needs to swing more and let go of the metred beat. Great job Jenks!

  • The sets look just like the last revival on B'way. Great voice on Curly.

  • great set and costumes!

  • wow this is impressive!

  • Vote no on state question 744.

  • Amazing!! My High School is thinking about putting on Oklahoma! great play

  • oklahomans arnt hicks..if you were smart you would know that were more modern that most of the states thanks!:))

  • great! my friend performed an awesome production of oklahoma too! check out "many a new day" at the channel: suebettybob!!!!!

  • This is a High School production??? These kids are GREAT!

Stop finding fault you detractors and enjoy what these kids are giving from their hearts!

  • boooo jenks go union!!!!!!!!!!! 1 more thing ur awesome At singing

  • ridiculo

    adios

  • Lovely voice and very good looking man.

  • I have some honest criticism/praise for you. Curly is singing through his nose, and his vibrato needs to be reigned in. He also needs to interact with the set. I understand that its a high school production, and that parents are happy to just hear familiar music and see their kids. However you guys/gals can use this opportunity to grow as actors and learn about stage movement. The set is fantastic, and the costumes are nice. Your designers really out did themselves. Bravo!

  • You guys are a talented high school, were also performing oklahoma this year im exited thanks for postin this!

  • Impresive sets! I think Curly should work on the singing technique a bit more though: the sound is a nasal and lacks power, and the vibrato feels forced. I also feel there should be a bit more story-telling on his part. Enjoyable nonetheless.

  • @trudbol I like his voice. He right on pitch 100%. I think the timber will develop more fully as he gets a little older.

  • @trudbol He has a great voice... this is what I want my high school's production to look like

  • you guys probaly practiced a lot! cuz its good

  • I Just went to c this play and loved it!! I'm so glad it's on here! The guy is cute too! haha :D

  • I absolutely adore watching this. I know I've commented before... on this part or another, but it's really an inspiration. Everyone did so well!

  • Bet that highschool has money lol

  • I love this production. Not Broadway, but I bet you'd pass for awesome off broadway production.

  • we are from oklahoma and that is just a natural oklahoma accent were not hicks....lol

  • @JenksShowChoir

I'm from Californa, but i grew up in Oklahoma for 3 years. Now I live in Idaho, and i still have the accent. yes i get made fun of, but when i move back, i'll belong.

  • @JenksShowChoir Yeah you guys are decent people!!!!

  • i just wish they had more to their accents

  • he has a good voice but, he just doesn't seem manly enough for this part, i guess. I mean, he's good, but he doesn't have that charisma...maybe I'm just partial because the first time I saw this musical, it was the hugh jackman version, ahaha.

  • Yeah... that's enough to bias anybody... lol

  • I think he's great and cute

  • love him!

  • hes really flat on some parts, ekk, there it goes again, RUN Aunt Eller!!!!! RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • booo jenks lol i go to union

  • I went their :O

  • Omg I played in the orchestra =D

    Good times

  • my school is doing this musical :)

  • this is AWSOME!

  • AMAZING! :D

  • he doesn't have that deep voice that curly should have. :/

  • yeah..he shouldn't sound like a 14 year old :x

  • @silv3rXrav3n well actually it would be weird if he didnt sound like a 14 year old because he looks to be about that age.

  • my school just did this musical i loved it these ppl do a good job

  • he looks like phil from phil of the future (:

  • My school did Okalahoma once! I was Ado Annie! It was so much fun being her because she is always so happy and excited and i loved singing "Can't Say No"

  • your set is amazing! :)

  • Curly's voice is amazing! Great job!

My school's doing Oklahoma too, but I never get to hear the Cast A or B Curly's sing. Ah, the perils of only being ensamble...

  • ey good music :D

  • this guy has an amazing voice, i wish he was my curly when i played laurey...

  • my schools doing this play

  • FFS! THAT STAGE IS HUGE!

  • At my school there doing this play too but we haven't gotten everything pieced together yet but its going to be AWESOME!

  • he has such a great voice! yall did such a great job at casting everyone! love it!!!

  • i wish my school could do this. theres never enough males to do anything good =[

  • @m1zzursh3r Same at my school! There is just a lack of men in the theater

  • i like the set, it looks cool!

  • wow his voice is amazing

  • I am taking part in this musical we star rehersals on monday and our show is Jan 2010

the company is called Glasgow School Youth Theatre

  • that musical was really good, i went and saw it.

  • Wow - awesome voices!

  • I saw this at the Hult Center its a big theatre in my town. THe singing was obviously stronger but you guys are goooood.

  • alot of guys are gay in show biz but who cares? this cast has an amazing voice and this show is as well(:

  • I kinda have to agree with you. lol.

I LOVE oKlahoma, and this is a good production!

But the costume screams "Back Door"

(Though that's nothing against the performer)

  • i saw this musical at a school in nanaimo it was not very good

  • Okay so my school is doing this musical next year and I kind of don't want to do it cuz I'm brown and I feel like the casting director doesn't pick me because I won't "suit" the part. What character in this play can pass off as being colored?

  • The Traveling peddler:Ali Hakim

    He's a very funny part

  • Hmmm.... I guess that would work. If I was a guy. lol

  • that shouldn't matter if your good enough you will be picked

  • Ali Hakim

  • Thats stupid. Your casting director should pick you based on talent. You can play any color you want! Silliness. Good luck

  • Great singing and acting, though the costumes were not very authentic

  • This guy has the most incredible voice.

  • Hey, you did an impressive job. Keep it up.

  • omgosh i was Aunt Eller..not in this show..in another one...that was my favorite role ever shes so much fun lol

  • If I was living in the USA, Id'like to act in a show like this, lucky people.... Unfortunatly in France Musicals are not really usuals...

  • She plays aunt eller well

  • the corn is as high as an elephant's eye. is the husk as long as his tusk?

  • we did this play and this the way he sings this is wayyyyy diffrent! but really good!

  • wow, wish I could sing like that! well done man! 5/5

  • Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Way to go, Jenks HS! Have loved this show since I was a kid -- first the 1955 film, then the play.

Great singers, actors, and dancers here. Nice scenery, camera work, video editing, and audio, too.

BTW, with good stereo playback, the orchestra shines. For me, that heightens the emotional impact. One example: this opening 5-minute segment.

The way your leads play Laurey and Curly's tender scenes can make me a bit misty-eyed. Thanks a lot for uploading your production. I love it!

  • i have just finished a production of oklahoma literally 2 days ago!! i loved it but only because of the songs and the amazing cast i was with...dont you agree that there could be a better plot, and jud dies too suddenly???

  • Agreed -- the songs are knockouts.

About Jud's death -- my real gripe is the aftermath. It feels rushed, and the levity at Curly's trial seems out of place. The 1955 film, which I saw first, has the same problems -- as if R&H, after 2+ hours, wanted to get this part over with fast and get to the happy ending. In real life, if I'd just seen a man fall on his knife, it'd be a while longer before I'd feel like celebrating anything.

Overall, I rate this first R&H show at 9.5/10.

  • im doin this play and im curly

  • he does ok, but he doesnt act it as he should, or sing it all that well at the strong notes such as 'feelin'

i am doing this for my si nging exam and no offense but i cna sing it alot better

  • I'm really turned off by the Curly. Flat and expressionless.

  • The story takes place near Claremore, Oklahoma. While I would agree that the dialects have never been native sounding, there were people from various

parts of the country there then. Interestingly, no one has a "Texan" accent, which is closest to what I've heard there.

  • he singss great!

  • Our school did this musical earlier this year.

  • nice stage setting!

  • he's hot :D

  • the guy looks like jesse mcartney! me and my friends were wondering if it was him (which it probably isnt!) so just comment, rate, and subscribe!

  • Who cares about his voice, He's fucking hot...Oklahoma can grow some pretty Gay boys!

  • my school is doing oklahoma, too! I'm gonna audition

  • I always loved how Jenks was big on teaching OK history.

  • it's finally been decided. my school is doing oklahoma!!! I am soo excited. I am most likely going to be Ado Annie, So we'll see. Watching this show helped a lot! Thanks.

  • OMK YOU'RE ADO ANNIE??!!! That's the best role in the world. Don't be afraid to yell and scream and jump and belt because you're a little girl who cain't say no and are cheating on your fiancee with a Persian Peddler.

  • I know! I am so excited! My directors asked what role I wanted to do before I graduated and I said Ado Annie. Because of that my director picked Oklahoma for our musical. I can't wait!!!!! Auditions are on St. Patty's Day!

  • ooooooh yay! Break a leg! Tell me how you do! Oh how I worship Ado Annie....

  • Ok well I got screwed over so now I'm Aunt Eller. It's a good part but I'm really bummed, cuz I wanted Ado Annie soooo bad. It sux.

  • Well, Aunt Eller isn't bad. Sorry you didn't get Annie, but at least you don't have to do any kissing. :) And, really, Aunt Eller is a GREAT role. She's funny and you can do a lot with her character. Have fun, and good luck!

  • Yeah I'm not too bummed about it. It'll be fun!

  • the guy who was curly at my school has a much better voice :D but its not bad xD

  • haha same!

  • Thanks for posting this play. I love it. The high school I graduated from is putting on in about a month. I enjoyed your interpretation of the characters. Thanks again.

  • i CANNOT wait until my school does oklahoma!!!

  • so curly is a drum major?

  • hahaha thats so awesome.... yeah our school is doin oklahoma... and our curly actually looks like a cowboy! its crazy the interpretations people have!

  • oh my god that guy who plays curly looks like a younger dopple ganger of me

  • my school is about to do this play

  • Lol, so is mine. XD

    4th - 6th grade. o.O It'll certainly be interesting....

  • haha mine is doing it too auditions start in like 2 weeks im thrilled :]

  • Haha, sweet! ^^

Our teacher doesn't know when ours will be yet, but they're coming up! ^^ YAY!

    I'm excited, too! XD

  • Nice voice, but where is the Oklahoma folk speech accent? I grew up in Tulsa, and I can go into it in an Oklahoma City minute! This is a travesty that this was produced in Jenks, OK, and the actors sound like they are from Nebraska!

  • ok aunt eller needs 2 learn how 2 act...

if curly scared u 2 death den make it look like he scared u 2 death...

doin oklahoma nxt yr... im from ireland n even i can get d accent...

  • Nice set...

    Nice voice...

But idk who taught you how to perform but u dont just stand there..

  • Um...he didn't block it...

  • Yeah I understand that lol I could tell... Nothing against him he's got a frickin killer voice but I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong of course, that there's more elements to a great performance than the voice haha

  • we're doing it this year! (hightstown high school NJ) and I tried out and got Aunt Eller!!! btw, curly is adorable

  • congrats! just dont over due it lol this musical was actually in oklahoma so thats more of a natural accent.

  • what part of oklahoma? i mean i grew up in piedmont and uhh we didn't talk like yall

  • I'm doing it. I'm Will Parker haha although I'm british so i'm going to have to work on the accent! :)

  • this is soo good!

  • I tried out for this musical and i hope i make it!

  • were doing this musical!

    tryouts tomorrow!!

  • i saw this play today at Alta High School. it was Entertaining

  • The costuming for this production is AMAZING. It's totally period and everything

  • this is so bad.

  • Oh, well I'm sure you and your little in-experienced ass could do a lot better. This happens to be one of the best High school level performances that I've seen. And I've seen A LOT. So you can kindly SHUT THE FUCK UP.

  • i agree.

  • how big is the place there performin? looks huge!

  • ....and freakin' loaded with dough, as well!

  • my middle school went there to see that play i pretty sure how everyone was chatting about it that they completly loved it. they did a real good job!

  • wow... and I thought our Curly was good...
