I got an artbook of his work recently. Unfortunately I can't really see the optimism or humor that he claimed was in his art but I am impressed at how gorgeous it is regardless. Each painting is like a scene from a dream or even a nightmare.

in fact he did describe his pictures as rather funny and pleasent and said that he couldn`t understand why people thought differently.

but in this video the mood is meant to be decent and rather quiet as this has been made as a sign of deference and respect to him as an artist and as a person and also in considerance of his early and brutal death.
