Unions, unfortunately, while initiated for collective bargaining by the underpaid, overworked many, many years ago, have now become the Original Gangsters. They have done more damage to this country than the Mafia. They need to go the way of the brontosaurus. EXTINCT
If Republicans are against it you can bet your ass it will help the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. They want to reduce the sheeples wages and raise taxes on them to help big business get bigger via outsourcing subsidies with tax dollars straight from the middle & lower class paychecks. They are envious of China's 2 class system. G.W. Bush tried his hardest to tank the biggest union in America, The UNITED States of America so elite gain leverage over us. VOTE DEMOCRAT this fall!
Yes they get you high wages and benefits. However, the company shuts down and moves to another country. Then you go say long live the union, right?
My dad lost a manufcaturing job one year ago becasue the unions wanted every employee to have 10% wage increase and some other benefits but the company wouldn't be able to afford the raises. Guess what they did? The moved to China.
Death to all the damn unions. They destroy all the jobs!
This is how people think? America is doomed because of people who lack imagination or better yet can never see the bigger picture. Union or not that company was probably going to move to China regardless. the fact that it never paid out the wage increase means it intended to move regardless of the union demand. But you fail to see a trend of low wages in the US, and you don't see the rising cost of living. you can speak from an individual perspective, but cannot see the picture.
I personally hope every union member everywhere loses their job. But that will never happen because the statists you elect into government will continue to rob the citizens to pay your wages. Even after you have already destroyed the company. But one thing is for sure: I will personally never buy union made, and I am not alone. Fuck you all.

The American work force without unions could drop un-employment in half or more, if we did not have those out of control high wages and overboard medical benefits. I agree that we needed unions when it was started, but its way out of control and not used for what it was started out to be, just like Welfare, its out of control and too many on a life time career to stay on the system, but thats the American way....teach us NOT to work, and we all pay taxes for the same thing three times over...
Why are there so many union videos on Real News these days? I don't see what the big concern is over a lack of union membership. Generally, unions squeeze money out of companies without considering whether they can afford to absorb the costs of their demands. Wages are supposed to rise when companies profit and invest in newer technology--they should not be artificially inflated at the cost of the company success.
Well, TheRealNews support Unionization, that's a given.
But the reason why there are so many Unionization video is because of the segments in one long interview. The 'CEO' of TheRealNews is a strategic person.
I just don't like the lady ramble about the history all day long. I thought this segment is supposed to be why some people are "NOT" supporting Unionization. Obviously, she evaded the question so as to get you not to think about the other side of the coin.
jesus. this is not a "unionization" video. Have you been fed so much zilch that you can't tell what real news looks like? Any intelligent person who knows history or uses just plain common sense understands why its an absurd thought to think about "NOT" unioninzing. Workers need protection in the work force. Employers have their unions--they are caled "lawyers" and "tax loopholes". Tis true. check it out for yourself. Don't take my word for anything. Peace out.
All I'm saying is that this video is biased towards unionization. A very one sided argument.
I know "businesses" and "corporate" sound very evil to some of you, and Unions will always make it sound like so, but what's really going on in today's Union, is that it's motivated by greed. The equation is that simple.
Work condition in the United States is good enough that the Union cannot use "moral" as their arguments.
Love the ending of this vid regarding future plans for a perm. tv channel. Thank god the world can get the TRUTH about what's really going on in the world without manipulated info. by gov'ts. and financed news corps.
The union was so successful as a parasite they drained the host.
They rely on infecting all in as their only method of extending the suffering of their host and eking out more survival time.
The risk of failure is on the shareholder. The employees all flee to other jobs when the host dies, or jump onto the government to suckle on the tax payer.
Yes the risk of failure is on the shareholder but so is the potential for profit. Stratvic, your unstated assumption is that unions kill businesses. Nothing could be further from the truth, business failure must rest in the executive suite - with management.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I agree that the blame for failure should rest on the executive and that they are responsible for protecting the firms from dangers and risks of all types.
However it is uncommon practice to blame the victims of force/threats/coercion/blackmail for the consequences of those crimes.
Unions don't kill businesses directly, like all parisites they weaken the host leaving them vulnerable to other risks.

The amount of contradictions and omissions by this person completely removes her from any serious discussion. In one paragraph at the start of each of these shill segments a graph is brought out showing union reductions and later on she says there has been union growth, well which is it liars?
She also completely ignores the fact that places like France have had stagnate business growth and a depressed economy for decades because of their socialist / communist unions. Short sighted lying fools.
depressed economy? France has a more stable economy. Though they are more willing to put up with higher unemployment which isn't very helpful to them, but its a decent place to live. America gets miserable if you are caught in a recession. Also Germany and many other countries also have some socialist instituitions with health care. I dunno but socialism and communism belong to two different schools. And you sound like an idiot by using them synonymously. The cold war is over dumbass.
I live in Asia and I'm American. Been to Europe very nice place.. There are still countries in Europe that's not doing bad. But you can keep going on and on if you want.
@lordblazer Then you should know Germany controls virtually all money throughout Europe. The entirety of continental Europe is failing because of excess social democratic (aka neo-socialist) spending, spending, and more spending. Greece was the canary in the mine, the rest are soon to follow - and it's showing.
no, the EU's economy is shitty because of their central banking system, and the fact that a lot of the banks there owe our banks a lot of money. It has nothing to do with who gets what benefits especially in a country like Germany where social benefits make up a small percentage of the economy.
Another key point as to why the EU is having problems has a lot to do with rapid privatization, neo-liberal policies, and central banking policies. Essentially the banks control the EU. This is why a lot of people in Europe normally speak out against the EU. As it undermines the very thing it claims to promote. Anyway its problems has nothing to do with having a social democratic economy. It has everything to do with their monetary policy.
@lordblazer FYI, might want to stop watching TYT. And for the record, I am an avid traveler too so there, we have something in common. Working in China is great for entrepreneurs.
@lordblazer "socialism and communism belong to two different schools" They belong to the same collectivist morality. Both seek to use government as a weapon to steal the productive efforts of the producers to buy votes from the takers. The cold war is hardly over when imbeciles like yourself espouse the economic theories that led to the fall of a super power.
Look socialism is not communism. The fact that I live in America which has a mixed economy shows that a little bit of socialism doesn't really hurt. If it did then people would even leave America. Is Social Security really ruining the country? I doubt it. Stop this ideological bullshit. The fact that republicans have now made it possible for people to also be uneducated and proud of it, and spout off mis-information like you have done.do you even know what system the US uses vs. OECD
kmg501, you should check your bias against unionism at the door. There can be growth in a particular union over time while at the same time a general decline overall in the union movement. An example would be the growth of federal government employees while at the same time a rise in the number of non-union employers and thus non-union jobs across America. Get it?
You're an idiot. French unionisation rates are pretty low as compared with other Western countries and have been for a long time. Even so they a good degree of socialisation within their economy and for it they have had one of the highest levels of productivity in the world for a long time. For some time it was the highest. Who has the most productive economy in the world today? Heavily unionised, heavily socialised Norway.......wash your mouth out
Am I right when I say America's most successful period economically was also the period in whih it's unions were strongest?!
The short sighted fools are the free-marketeers who wish to slash wages at every juncture. Sure, individual employers can do it, but they end up free-riding on the decent payment of other employers. If they all do it you end up with a huge decrease indemand & consumption & a downward spiral like today.
Into this unions marched to save capitalism in the 30s.....
