I am thinking about buying one of these buggies as a project. The guy wants 750 for it. It is the same body style as yours. It has a 1600 dual port in it but it is locked up. Do you think it is worth it, and what will i have in it to get it running good?
depends on what is locked up in the motor, if it is just the pistons and jugs, about 300.00 to fix. assuming you do the work and the heads are good. what tranny? irs? and is it a kingpin front end? if so 750 is fair.
I'm diggin the green. I'm 17 bout to be 18 and so far I've built an orange one with my dad, then a couple years later shopped the front end and made it shorter, reapinter it yellow, and put in a dual carb 3500+cc race motor into it. Well now were buying a whole nother buggy and two front ends for $400 and I'm deffinetly putting these next builds on youtube..lol just thought I'd share
Don't hit anything with the front end. The steering shaft would make a pretty good spearif the front end moves. That is why the beetle has the part on the steering column that looks like a tube of expanded metal.
Nice S-Rail man! by the way, i have the single port engine,but i how can you tell if it is a 1500 or 1600? the guy that sold it to me told it was a 1500 and i saw it woking on a 1975 VW Bus..
Oh, I just love your car. I wanted to build one but i just don´t know where to start. If you got some time, could you tel me how you did it and what parts you used?
We are allowed to drive on parts of the Autobahn as fast as we like but the pricewe pay is that the amount of tinkering and tuning we can do to our cars, never mind buiolding one,is close to 0.
I envy you and wish you all the best. The car is looking good. Just get that engine tuned up a bit and then post the next vid. I'll be waiting to see how your project turns out.

@samalayork
if you look at the engine case codes you can google them and itll tell you. If the guy modified it than i dont think there is a way to tell
