  • On 3:28 Did anyone notice that the South took what would be D.C on a real map?

  • I have played this on Atari ST! Love it!

  • and btw i didn't know you can play this multiplayer:)

  • 1st time when i played this for almost 4 hours i did lose to South

2nd time i lost right away

3rd time i managed to beat South in 1 hour

and you even if i lose to cpu i still love this game so much

  • Where can download this game from?!?

  • remember playing this as a kid...great game back in the days

  • The PC version is superior

  • this was the best game ever ion my cchldhood! :D took my months to look every online for this game

i only remebered the logo wat it looked like:P i feel so proud

  • lol...I know the feeling. Youtube is great for waxing nostalgic about old games.

  • AMIGA VERSION ARE THE BEST !!!!!!!

  • Amen to that!

  • Go North!!!

  • fuck north.... GO SOUTH!!!!!!!! SOUTHERN PRIDE!!

  • i live in the south but i stand for the north and no racism

  • The Nothern States were just as racist during the time period. The time period they were living in general was racist, no matter which side you were on.

Most Northern Soldiers were pissed when Lincoln did the Empancipation Proclamation and announced they were now fighting to end slavery as well as bring down the rebellion. Many Northern Soldiers and Generals went Awal because of it.

  • Besides, General Stonewall Jackson (from the South) was loved by African Americans. General McClellan (North) was very racist and stated that he wouldn't be fighting the war if he thought it was over the abolishment of slavery.

Moreover, unlike the North, the South had some mixed regiments of blacks and whites.

  • @caramon927 the CSA had regiments, but CSA didn't sanction it until the end of the war.

  • bull fucking shit

  • What are you calling bullshit on? Caramon is right. There's a documentary about Stonewall Jackson defying Virginian law and teaching African Americans how to read and write. There's also a book called "Stonewall Jackson: the Black Man's Friend."

As for regiments, Tiger is right. But some Confederates like Nathan Bedford Forest mixed black soldiers in. Instances like this occurred without any official sanctions from the CSA government.

  • Wow that comeback at 2:50 was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Walked right into it. Beautiful play.

  • That was me. :)

  • The time limit is way to long. In the amiga version you had to move like your ass was on fire to stand a chance.

  • Love that game! meny memorys:)

  • where i can download this game and play with PC?

  • Use Google! There are different versions of this game on different platforms, including but not limited to Amiga, NES, and PC MS-DOS. All of those can be played by emulators on modern PCs. However, if you don't own the actual game, but just download and play it, that would be copyright infrigment. However I'm sure you can get a legal copy from places like ebay.

  • A DAMN CLASSIC

  • This game needs to be remade.

  • Indeed, but North & South's charm lies primarily in its simplicity. If it were released for the XBox 360 or PS3 it would probably be panned for not taking advantage of those console's full power, and the rather hardcore audience of those systems might get bored with the game's simplicity.

  • There may be some chance of success for a remake on the Wii, though; there are a few interesting possibilities concerning the Wiimote and its control over your soldier, and if the Wii sports games are any indication North & South's fundamental spirit of simplicity might translate quite well to the Wii, given a careful adaptation to fully take advantage of the system.

  • There is also the possibility of a Nintendo DS version (see the remakes of Final Fantasy), or a cell phone game, but I would rather like to see a refreshingly simple but innovative game on the Wii. Not to mention that it would be rather fun to smash your opponents by waving the Wiimote about like a maniac. :D

  • Simplistically advanced on the PS3, xBOX 360, Nintentdo Wii and DS. Include special figures, like

Generals Ulyssess S. Grant and Sherman for the Union, and Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson for the Confederacy. Large scale battles, similiar to the Dynasty Warriors series, except with better features.

  • Simplistically advanced for sure. But I'd kind of like to make it more like Risk with action scenes than the Total War series or Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

  • I would love to see that. Or even a DS version.

  • I love this game

  • So do I, my buddy and I always play it whenever we're not going to class or studying.

  • What college do you attend?
