  • ich liebe dieses lied haben wir mal bei uns im posaunenchor gespielt

  • Had this played by the raf band on my graduation gives me goosebumps still 3 years on awesome music

  • für mein Schatz Ingrid noch mal zum 34 Hochzeitstag... ich liebe dich noch so wie damals... als dieses Lied unsere Ehe einweihte

  • †his music was written by two Germans and is not Scots in origin.

  • @kevbo703

amen, im using this for one of my new songs

  • this music has a real eerie feel to it awesome xxxx

  • This music is like drug. I keep coming back here for more.

  • Does it have to be written by a Scot to be beautiful? Not really. We Scots have adopted it and taken it to our hearts.

  • I <3 bagpipe music and I play them 2 and

I gotta admit out of all the 96 song I know off by heart

that is my favourite. 96 is bad I know, I'm still learning I'm 12

  • @ScottishMusicHD 96 isn't bad!

  • There are two types of people.. Those who are Scottish .. And those who wish they were!

  • Once A Scotsman, Always A Scotsman.

  • One of the first things i i feel when i hear this song is tears coming up.

  • its one of the best versions of this song!

  • It sounds little bit like one disney song that i can‘t remember the name of

  • I am a Taiwanese British and I live in Scoltand. Hoping this song will become our National Anthem for Scotland, so inspiring!

  • should def be our national anthem

  • @tardis709

I think a national anthem should be written by a person who has the same natonality, than the anthem is for.

  • @BingoJoe91 why should a scot write their anthem? i think the most important thing of an anthem is that the people living in this country can identifiy their country with their anthem although it's not written by one of their nationality

  • die bilder sind der hammer oder?

  • i love bagpipes. I'm a St. Clair and wish to someday see the land of my roots. i've never been there but would fight anyone to defend Scotland!

  • thsi should be our national anthem, i hope we become indendent again and regain our old monarchy once more

  • Love this song. My dad is in the Scots guards (regular army) and whenever there is an occasion on the pipes and drums play this. <3 xx

  • merveilleuse musique , j, adore je l, ecoute tous les jours

  • For Christ's Crown and Covenant. Remember the Solemn League and Covenant!

  • @credocovenanter Scotland is the special Daughter of the Holy See, the Popes gave the Regalia to the Kings and granted her indipendance. That is the true Scotland, protestants sold it to England.

  • @adelswardfersen I totally agree! Fortunately most of the Highlands held out for the true Church, notably the Frasers of Lovat! But then one legend has it we received our name from a pope back in Normandy who on tasting our strawberries addressed our ancestor as "Mon bon Fraise!" A Fraser also signed the Declaration of Arbroath. St. Andrew, St. Margaret and St. John Ogilvie pray for Scotland that she may return to the Faith of our fathers in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church!

  • @jeremyaesop1 Actually Catholics were a tiny minority in Scotland and even in the Highlands they were a small minority

  • I don't know why some people hate bagpipes. I love there sound.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, i would be so proud right now if i was a Scotsman!

  • You know this was written by a couple of Germans in the 1980s, right?

  • @cuntylishus and your point is? if anything it shows the popularity of the pipes and scots across the world

  • WHERE can we find the beautiful castle on the picture at 0:35 ??? Tell me, tell me, tell me!!

  • @missSandygallagher The Castle is Eilean Dunon, north west coast, I believe

  • it was to fast

  • My orchestra is playing this.... I practically memorized the bagpipes's part on the violin

  • diese lied kann ich auswendig

  • This is music has brought me to tears, feeling of bravery and patriotic. And I am even not a Scot! Music is deffinitely a universal language for all :D

  • I am bound to remember the Crown British Conlony - British Hong Kong when i listen to this imperal music

  • @FB4822 its not imperial music? its scottish surely

  • @FB4822 Its not colonial music. It was written by germans in the 1980s for the highland games that were being played over in germany.

  • @rowanrockhopper2 Can you tell me more about it?

Thought it was an "old anthem".

  • @rowanrockhopper2 Calm your crack!

  • @Thejazzmantestifies Id rather this song wasn't associated with british imperialism, as its got nothing to do with it. thats all.

  • One of my all time favourite songs

    Cinnidh Scuit saor am fine,

    Mur breug am faistine,

    Far am faighear an Lia-Fail,

    Dlighe flaitheas do ghabhail.

    (Unless the prophets faithless be,

    And seer's words be vain,

Where'er is found this sacred stone,

    The scottish race shall reign)

  • Bithidh an raon air a tuiIeachadh le feur ùr is an raineach a' luasgadh mar fheamainn anns an t-sùmainn. Bithidh siùil gheala nan sgìtheach air an togail ris a' ghaoith, agus lusan beaga, buidhe is geala a' dealrachadh mar choinnle-Bnanain anns a' ghuirme. Slaodaidh a' ghrian reothart thar gàrradh liath na raoin; am measg nan craobh crìon cnàmhach, bolg reothairt san aimsir mhàithreil; reothart gàirdeach feòir ùir.
  • If god was going to wipe out every nation but one and he asked for the most proud nation of them all, me being canadian would say the scottish.

  • miss british hong kong so much when I hear it again.

  • 18 people are english

  • This song is from Germany, German production!!! Yeeey :D

  • @punkyfunky07 does it make you feel more german? ulrich(archie) and mick wrote a great scottish tune!

  • is there any words to it?

  • @celticmystt it is indeed. As is Flower of Scotland and probably many many more songs written for and performed on Pipes and Drums. Music is not so much about who wrote it or where it originated or even what instrument(s) it's played on, but how it makes you feel.

  • this accually brings me too tears :O love this makes me so proud to be scottish :O & it reminds me of my nana(L)

  • How simply beautiful this is.

I found it by looking for Highland of One More Time, and I am grateful to have found this unique piece of music. I think I can listen to it all night long...

I just adore melancholy and if you add some pictures of moors, old castles, abbeys, hills and glens, I'm completely lost.

  • Sends shivers up ma Scottish Spine :-D

  • A Scottish tune, composed by a German, and very important to the Army regiments and police in Northern Ireland. A piece of music that brings many people together.

  • im getting married on the 29 of April, 2011 and this will be our wedding song! it will be the perfect song to see her walking down the isle with her dad giving her away to me! It is so touching and the feelings are deep. I can't wait! I LOVE YOU BABE!

  • This song is written by a german man

  • Who the fuck are the 18 people who dared disliking this beautiful piece of art?

  • @Sidhartha007

The answer to that is those 18 people who dislike this video are either unpatriotic or just simply have no appreciation for the beauty of the sound of the pipes that played this song

  • I would much prefer this to FoS as the "national anthem"

  • This is truly beautiful. Thanks for posting it!

  • i walked my beutiful daughter down the aisle last saturday to highland cathedral,i thought i had my emotions in check until we both walked into the church and heard that magical pipe tune, then i lost it,amazing day

  • @bain2thebone: My Wife was walked down the aisle by her Father to Highland Cathedral played live by a Piper and Drummer. The simple beauty of this song touches my heart each and every time I hear it. My Wife said afterwards that she felt she had her emotions in check right up until the piper started.

  • @ThaFlava My daughter is 20 years old and says that she would want this for a wedding processional. When I was married we used Trumpet Voluntary and Trumpet Tune. I can't listen to this without tearing up each time.

  • I'm not Scottish or Irish...But I grew up in Canada, and came to love the high Shrills of the Bagpipes...The last time I saw them was at the 2009 Sta Claus Parade here in Toronto

  • Many, many thanks, it's beautiful. have a look at the channel yngland jana, she has sung in German ................... also very emotional.

  • who is singing at the beginning of the song in the backround???

  • @amaretard andTheJustine0909 this song isnt scotish its written by an german songwriter

A whole host of her relatives from Ayrshire were all there too. It was a special day for us all.

  • Id give all the tea in China to the Scotsman that can listen to this song and not feel the most immense pride and love for our beautiful land.

  • @amaretard as an Englishman who has lived in Scotland for 8 yrs and grown to love the country it has the same effect!

  • @amaretard Seems strange to think that it is such a 'recent' composition, and German at that!

  • @amaretard tea please

  • @BTJE123

Are you Scottish? Or a bitter Englishman. I'll get in touch with China in the meantime.

  • Im a member of the ATC and I recently attended a Regional Parade in memory of those lost for the right of freedom. We gathered around windsor castle, where we waited in the foreground. We could hear the many poeple cheering outside. The gates opened and the bagpipes started. I was on the highlander's drum, I tapped. The sun was setting through the opened gate. 100 more bagpipes started and our sillouette army moved towards the crowds. Simply breath taking. Thankyou for that experience, lost ones

  • Terry Mechan (1998) There is a land far from this distant shore Where heather grows and Highland eagles soar There is a land that will live ever more Deep in my heart, my Bonnie Scotland Though I serve so far away I still see your dreams, cities and streams I can't wait until the day When I'll come home once more And so Lord keep me from the harm of war Through all its dangers and the battle's roar Keep me safe until I'm home once more Home to my own in Bonnie Scotland
  • @r4mabo Yeah, those r the ones! Great song, we play this at ATC... I play the Drums...

A lassie from Ayrshire and a lot of her relatives travelled over for her big day. (Men in kilts obviously). Good old Scotland.

  • AMAZING!! My concert band at school played this.

  • played at grandads funeral, never forget

  • Isn't it funny that German music makes so many of us feel Scottish?

Then your children will smile again Rise Caledonia, let your voices ring In this Highland Cathedral of our God and King Whom joy and liberty to all will bring Come let your heart with love and courage sing.
  • Lonely the exile o'er distant seas

To the land where their fathers lie
