in the 3 car sys...2nd mode...how is that the middle car being sationary be considered in phase wid any of the other two... should 2 be in phase and 1 out of phase as he says in the triple pendulum

Great lecture. The professor made an algebraic error at around 22:30. The factorized form of x2(t) should have an extra overall minus sign.

58.38 - I think the ratio is 1+square root(2) and 1-square root (2).
Not -(1+square root(2)). I did the calculation because we were set this problem for homework.
But a very good lecture indeed.
