I think this is happening to me too. I used to be able to do some of his style in high school but four years later I just can't do it much anymore. You notice when he fast picks he pretty much just uses his entire arm now, he used to just flick his wrist like a madman. I do the same thing, I just can't do it anymore. The runs he does require extreme amounts of dexterity and stamina and he probably just can't do it anymore. He was like 52 during this show, and is 57 now. He's just getting old.

Is this the greatest solo? no. Is eddie van halen the greatest guitarist? no. But that DOESN'T matter. Eruption in 1978 redefined the way the instrument is played and sounds. Was Jimi Hendrix the best? No, but he certainly changed the way the instrument was played. Eddie's sound & playing inspired generations guitarists (like them or not). You don't have to think he's a greatest or Eruption's the best solo, but the impact Eddie has on the guitar world is undeniable. so have some respect!

Is this the greatest solo? no. Is eddie van halen the greatest guitarist? no. But that DOESN'T matter. Eruption in 1978 redefined the way the instrument is played and sounds. Was Jimi Hendrix the best? No, but he certainly changed the way the instrument was played. Eddie's sound & playing inspired generations guitarists (like them or not). You don't have to think he's a greatest or Eruption's the best solo, but the impact Eddie has on the guitar world is undeniable. so have some respect!

I'll have my say about Eruption, just as I'll defend my vote in the real world from vulgar, loud, braying lawless types, thats my campaign.These people walk among us on our streets and it stands to reason that they respect the real laws as little as the rules they signed their names under here. When you get an oil change, do you want the filter and all the oil replaced, or just topped off and "fuck it lol its a fag car anyway"

@Totofan09 this music is like a street car pimped out like a ricer, with fart pipes, fat tires, loud stereo, loud paint, fuzzy dice, quad wiper blades, plastic trim. Typically ricers park at some lot and show off to each other, whos louder and wider. And thats about it. Theres no race or cruise a la NASCAR or Formula 1, its all just posing like a steroided bodybuilder. Theres no story, just flash and show, which is why I don't much care for it.
