@OneMeanDragon That would refer to a 5 string (BEADG) tuned down by a whole step (ADGCF) like a youir 4 string (EADG) tuned down 3 1/2 steps (ADGC) to mimic the lower 4 strings of the tuned down 5. Read ALL of the small print just below the first measure of "tab" for this song

@handgun1 Using a pick on bass greatly limits how far you can go with your right hand. Not really a good choice in my opinion

@globalgemo: I don't have any problems with pick, fingers, or slap/pop. I am mainly a finger player myself, and prefer it to any other style because I've used it more, but I don't think picks limit your right hand at all. I know that's your opinion, but in my experience I've been able to do just as much, if not more in some cases with a pick.

@MasterBassist6993 Well if you use your fingers along with a pick then it's obviously not going to hinder your right hand so much but if you only use a pick then you don't go as far as you could with your right hand. I'll admit there are some things that definitely seem impossible to do without a pick but if you work at it long enough then you should be able to do those things.

@globalgemo: true. I thought chords on bass would only be possible with a pick until I saw Steve Harris. Then I developed my own style with that, using a picking technique starting from the shoulder, but strumming with my fingernail. but really the only times I use a pick are for Tool songs and rediculously fast stuff that my fingers just cant keep up with.
