Thanks for this posting, had not seen it before. Settings and costumes authentic, acting very uneven, good, ok, and absolutely appalling, but it's entertaining! They should have had a French speaking cast (with subtitles) but that wouldn't be A.&E. style, they would be afraid the Americans would get bored.

Je ne trouve pas que Clavier soit le meilleur Napoléon. Il joue juste, c'est vrai, c'est pas n'importe qui non plus, mais de là à dire que c'est lle meilleur... Personnellement, j'avoue que je suis un peu déçu par cette série. C'est pourtant grâce à elle que j'ai commencé à m'intéresser à la période. Mais aujourd'hui, je m'aperçois que c'est une suite d'images d'Epinal...

Clavier dans le rôle de Napoléon, ha ha ha, un rôle sur mesure pour un lèche bottes de Sarkozy. C'est très gratifiant d'avoir un pote président, ça te permet de faire protéger ta villa de plusieurs millions d'euros des "méchants" nationalistes corses. Incarner un traitre au cinéma n'a pas du le déranger. La France est bien à l'image de Sarkozy et de ses potes lèches bottes. De Gaule avait bien raison : "Les français sont des veaux". ha ha ha

@Porodiziateur Être français n'est pas une insulte, quand aux corses ils ne sont aucunement français, ni par les patronymes, ni par les noms de leurs villages et villes, et encore moins par la langue, la culture, les traditions et surtout l'Histoire. Ce n'est pas parce que l'étranger te fout le canon d'une armes sur la tempe durant deux siècles et demi dans ta maison que cela fera de toi autre chose que ce que tu es.

@Porodiziateur Tu sembles ignorer beaucoup de choses sur Napoléon en dehors de l'Histoire sélective, souvent revisionnée et romancée des manuels scolaires. Au départ Napoléon était un nationaliste corse qui admirait Pasquale Paoli, mais comme celui-ci se méfiait de cette famille de traitres(Carlo, le père, et Maria-Letizia Ramolino, la mère, étaient des patriotes qui ont trahi la Nation corse), par arrivisme il s'est tourné comme ses parents vers l'occupant français et contre Paoli.

@Porodiziateur (suite) Napoléon ne s'est jamais battu que pour les seuls intérêts de sa famille (nombreuse) à laquelle il a distribué des prébendes et autres titres, ce qui lui a permis, un temps, de contrôler les pays européens conquis militairement. La notion de patrie chez Napoléon n'est qu’usurpation et mensonge, mais tu peux croire ce que tu veux, c'est ton droit. Pour les corses, quelque soit l'obédience politique, le seul Père de la Patrie restera, pour l'éternité, Pasquale Paoli.

@CorsicaNustrale Sauf que Napoléon à quitter la Corse à 11 ans il a était à l'école militaire dans l'est de la France, donc à moins qu'entre 0 et 10 ans il était nationaliste corse ce que je doute ton histoire ne tient pas debout. Je pense que les corses ont arrangés l'histoire à leur manière. Et puis tu dis que Napoléon n'était pas patriote ?? alors pourquoi serait-il revenu en France pour reprendre le pouvoir pendant les 100 jours si il s'en foutait de la France ?

@Porodiziateur Napoléon n'a pas passé beaucoup de temps en Corse et en 1788 il tente de s'impliquer dans la vie politique de l'île, en vain. Il s'en retournera dans sa garnison d'Auxonne jusqu'en 1789 où il écrira, dans son "Histoire de la Corse", son attachement à Paoli, son idole, et révèlera son attachement à la Corse indépendante et le droit des corses à l'insurrection contre la domination française. Il écrira,entre-autre: "Ne jamais reconnaître les français comme les maîtres".
