    Did the exhaust. Pulled the cats off. And its pretty damn loud! But a good loud. 1st-5th, loud n 6th a low grumble doing about 75mph. it deff turns some heads. I only have one day of tuning on it, and so far no codes have been thrown on the car. Cost me a couple hundred $'s , but I got into the computer and tuned it w/ a laptop. The gain from the mod is very noticeable.

I could really use to pull off the cats because I'm pretty sure I'd be running a completely straight through setup and end up with a much louder exhaust than what you hear. Plus, I think that's why I continually throw catalyst codes as I think they are stopped up. I took the entire exhaust off last yer to fix a weld, turned it on running just straight pipe and it sounded basically the same as you hear in the video. haha

    You're hearing a Corsa system at work, so enjoy it at 80mph. That's about the only time it rings. This exhaust is a single chamber cat-back. You can see through the tube completely as there are no baffles in the muffler itself.

    As far as cats go, they are in need of simulating since I think they're my most recent issue with the check engine light. I have a catalyst code that keeps coming up.

    Indeed. I'll have a few aftermarket things in the near future, but it will never vary visually from what GM created.

  • @unklejade I lied. Wrecked the car, got a fresh yellow paint job on it and left the decals off. I couldn't be happier about my decision. I'm going to create a new, more subtle decal for the side of the car and go from there.

  • I just test drove an 02 ws6 collector's edition JUST like this one same paint ect.. it was cammed, 4:10 gears and long tube headers with full 3in exhaust it was beast!!

    Right on. There's only one Collector Edition and it's the yellow with the feather decals, black rims, head rests, blacked out back bumper, and 3:42 gears. I've seen some people putting feather decals on other TA's saying that they're a CETA car, but that's the only package it came in. There are, of course, other special editions out there, but only one "Collector Edition".

    Right on with test driving one, though! I'm heading for a cam soon, I hope.

    Most people just do bolt ons and keep the stock parts so it can be switched back to stock fairly easily

    Which is what I'll do. The brake rotors have since been changed and there's no way of refurbishing them to throw back on later, so that'll be one of few things that can't be returned to stock.

  • Why would you put mods on a collector car? Now its not all original. Does that affect its value? im not sure about this one, think i might leave it stock.

    Why wouldn't I? From my perspective, cars are meant to be driven, not stared at in a garage. Mods are reversible, anyway, so it's not like I couldn't reverse the process. I'll never sell it, anyway. lol

  • @unklejade thats true.. i was just thinking of it from a collectors perspective.. i have a 2002 firebird as well. its a v6. not a collectors edition. i was considering putting a v8 but im hesitating on it because it wont be all original if i do. and i understand that youd never sell it. theyre great cars.. i have 2 of them!! my 2002 v6 and a 94 Trans am GT. i love em both!

    That's a matter of opinion. Yes, it would be nice to have a manual transmission, but I know guys with built auto's that smoke manuals.

    they both have their advantages/disadvantages.

    They're shorty's. As far as the brand, I'm not sure. There's no branding on the exhaust or headers, so I'm not sure. I'm almost positive that the cat's are FLP, though. They look just like them.

  • Really nice car too me, SOunds great too most aftermarket exhausts on a ls1 dont cut it for me, But I like the sound, I agree with the agressive cam too ;D

    Thanks so much! I learned yesterday that it's a single chamber straight through designed muffler with no marking on it to find out who makes it. It sounds nearly identical to running without any exhaust.

    That I couldn't tell you. I'm not so sure what kind of exhaust system I have as I removed it recently to fix a busted weld and it has zero markings on it anywhere indicating it's type.

    And as far as I know, I don't think Corsa makes a single chamber muffler, which is apparently what I've got.

    Check out my other vid with the exhaust removed to hear the hardly noticeable difference in sound.

  • how hard was the transgo shift kit to install? and i also thought that all WS6s were 6 speed manuals? and I prefer magnaflow myself.It has the more horsepower gains as far as I know.

    it was already in it. And no, somebody lied to you! There's plenty of WS.6's out there with auto's.

    I don't enjoy the sound of a Magnaflow, or many other exhaust systems for the LS1 cars. In all honesty, most aftermarket exhaust sounds I like were always attached to LT1 cars.

  • IDK what engine u are reffering to but on a V8 it is better to go with long tubes b/c shorty headers arent worth the money and you wony really notice but what 5-8 more hp and tq compared to long tube 16-22 hp and tq

  • Agreed. Pacesetter makes long tubes for f-body's and they're $250 and flow the best out of all long tubes built for LS1's. I'm making the switch very, very soon.

  • Yes they do flow very well and are really cheap compared to most other brands. Nice car btw. If I was you I would keep the car pretty much stock and the exhaust, cai, and etc... I would keep. That care will be a money maker.

  • Hey Man I also have a auto and I hear you about the slp loundmonth it is lond at 70mph but I like it but that is me and my girlfriend hates it lol. Also about the hole auto arg I understand where you are coming from I am 6'3 and I sometimes have a hard time getting out of it and I have an auto because I got a sweet deal 6k for it.

  • I'm actually from Cabot, and the WS6 you're talking about is probably owned by Nick Yielding. It's pretty bad ass. He's done a lot of work to it. As far as me going, nah, I've never been. I want to, but have never gotten up and taken myself over there.

  • It improves the firmness of the shifts, and the relay time between putting the car in gear, and the gears actually switching.

  • Ive seen plenty of autos keep up with M6 LS1's. I have an M6 WS6, but I dont see any shame in a auto. Its actually an advantage in most cases cause you dont have to worry about spinning as much and its very consistent.

    Basically what that boils down to was he was liquidating his assets and giving away his potential debts was easier than paying for them in the long run.

    If the car were bigger, I'd be all over an M6, though it's not completely out of the question.

  • I guess so. It doesn't make much of a difference, unless you're a roll racer. From a roll, an M6 f-body will jump ahead, but my A4 will jump faster from a dig. I can tell you that being my size and owning an M6 would be the most uncomfortable drive for me.

  • What's funny to me about the whole M6/A4 argument, is the people that usually do the arguing about it have never owned an F-Body, nor do they know anything about how these cars perform and behave.

  • The Flowmaster American Thunder series is good, as well as the Magnaflow cat-back system they make for 93-97 TA's. The exhaust on my TA is Corsa, though I'm not sure they make a system for your year model.

  • Anything that isn't stainless will rust. The SLP Loudmouth system is too much for me. It has the most God awful drone at 70mph.

    i'm personally running the SLP Loudmouth 2, although i think you should've gone with the Longtube headers instead :P

  • I'm unaware of the type of cam that's in the car. A lot of work was done to it before I acquired it. I can tell you that the car idles at 600rpm and has a slight lope.

    I'm working on the LT's, though. Pacesetters are on the list real soon.
