why are bank robbers so popular?,,,,l will tell you why, because the vast majority of the public havnt got the balls or the inclination to make easy money,,bank robbers are a rare breed of humankind,,they just need to be pushed into a corner and then itys no going back,,, l suppose its more exciting than being a grocer,,,
i like this one as well as the latest one, michael mann is a master of good looking shootouts like HEAT, but i respect 70s shootouts, this is good, especially that last guy's death. you are hardly a tough guy wen faced with death, i'd be crying too ;)
I love both Public Enemies and Dillinger but I prefer Public Enemies slightly. Johnny Depp was the more realistic Dillinger, based on what I've read of him but Warren Oates gave an awesome performance. Also, Ben Johnson (good actor) gave a total bull crap portrayal of Melvin Purvis. Both are great movies though.
the guy driving the getaway car is paul martino who also died in the godfather after he drove clemenza out to the weeds and was shot in the car when clemenza stepped out to take a leak. "dont forget the canoli's"
a great low budget, high quality film. great characters and action. fast paced and well written with a killer cast! though not accurate, very entertaining! the dvd is at walmart now for $5! so is bonnie and clyde also!
Nick Adams was quite good in "Young Dillinger." And this film was superb. The new Depp Dillinger film "Public Enemies," it has actress Lili Taylor, but otherwise, I'm not enthused about it. Johnny Depp? Popular star, but no Warren Oates.
