i feel exactly the same. I just cant forget this show, as a guy i get ripped 2 shreds 4 it but my love for the OC is unwavering. No show i have seen before or since this finished has had the chemistry and feel good moments that it had. Why marissa decided to leave the show i will neva know. The peak of her fame surely. Taylor can just rot, she was no marissa and just didnt suit ryan at all.

Is it me or did the writers really just made ryan and marissa drift apart? Like I think even from the start, the creator of The OC kinda new that they wouldnt be together. Maybe thats just me. Does anyone agree? I feel like it was an on and off thing and maybe to show the viewers that sometimes no matter how hard you try if you are not meant to be then in the end you wont be together. In the end, marissa was going to die and no matter what ryan would do to stop it in some way it wouldnt matter.

@TheSpectat0r ya the ryan/marissa relationship was always rocky, they did that for the drama. also, there was absolutely no chemistry between ben and mischa, ever. The real teen couple of the series was summer and seth, and the other supercouple was sandy and kirsten.

I really REALLY wanted them to end up together or at least for Marissa to be ALIVE. But I think her death just made the show & their relationship even more epic. @TheSpectat0r Jack died? No. It's the same thing with Ryan/Marissa - even after she dies, you want to leave the viewers with the image that their love is everlasting. You dont show a whole other relationship. They should've tied up loose ends in an episode or two & then ended it. However, I don't think it was truly a "creative decision" as Josh tried to put it - if they ended the show in season 3, I think Marissa would still be alive because Mischa would still be on the show. sorry, long rant xD
