It has a population of about 20,000 so it's essentially a town. The tall buildings in its downtown are deceiving, and make it look more like it has at least 100,000. I've only been there in the summer, can't imagine how brutal it must be in the winter!

watching this video made me miss yellowknife..i was there visiting my grandma and grandpa and all my relitives there.:( i have a great grandma who lives there and i think shes 78 years old...i hope i get another chance to see her again. ( i live in iqaluit )

It is the 2nd largest northern town in Canada. Whitehorse is the largest city, with a population of abt 23,000 or so.
Love to go up to both town btw.
