I can agree with you that they should not take away the "trademarks" like the gunbarrell in the beginning, but I also don't think each screenplay must include the line "Shaken, not stirred", it should be a natural part of the movie. Besides, some of the gadgets of the previous movies were made to impress the viewers, but they are now outdated. My point is, even though the last two movies have some quite incredible stunts, it has made bond a more vulnerable and realistic character.

The card game scenes did not go for an hour. They were brief and considering how crucial it was that Bond didn't mess up it was considerably short (considering what was at stake and the movie is named after the card game) And the Bond woman was awesome. Because you can hear it. Listen to this version and then listen to the rock version.
