Hornady dropped the ball on this, except on the .223 zombie max. If they used steel casings, and sold it a bit cheaper, it would be a hit. Who the hell is going to pick up their brass when your getting attacked by zombies?

so glad you did this! when i had seen this ammo for the first time, i was like wtf are they doing here? so i had to call them... simply put it's a light weight fast expanding bullet made for personal defence. as your fantastic video shows it does just that.... glad i bought it.

on the average, HCD costs more (anywhere from $1-$4 a box) So, you take a more expensive round, paint the tip, and devalue it, sell it for less, and call that a win?

Hornady Please make a 10mm Zmax! Thanks Dad for the great vid. The Z-max is a completely different ammo then the Critical Defense in everyway. CD is specialy made for self defense in short barrel handguns, Zombie Max is made for ZOMBIES!!

@machinegun911 YES, these are the exact same bullet as the critical defense, just a green tip instead of the red.. i have not got my hands on the "Zmax" but i Do like the CD line, i use it for Concealed carry. while using Gold dots for home defense. Side note tho. CD sells in a box of 25 while the Zmax Sells in a box of 20 for the same price... Just saying..

Essentially same as their Critical Defense line except 2 changes -- green polymer insert instead of orange, plain brass casing instead of nickel-plated. And in handguns they only cover the basic .380, 9mm, .40, .45 (leaving out, among others covered by CD, .38 Special, .357 Sig, .357 Mag, 10mm, .44 Mag etc.) Both variations are truly excellent rounds, Hornady has done a great job with these ammos. Good vid showing the penetration and expansion.

I found the last 2 boxes of zombie max in 9mm @ cheaper then dirt this pass wednesday. It was may first order from them and I would but again. All the local shops in my area in florida either don't have them or only have 1of the 8 calibers that they are available in. Most online are out of stock or back ordered. They are going to make millions selling this ammo to all the zombie hunters.
