@TrailRider9664 Take the Mustang. It has OBD2, which means you can tune the engine for more power by plugging in a tuner, where you can't with the Camaro. They switched to OBD in 1997, great advice you should never forget. :)

There's a BIG difference, and misunderstanding... The GT500 Mustang is tuned and built by FORD themselves.. Shelby has had ties with Ford since the beginning of the Mustang.. and SVT (Special Vehicle Team) is Ford's own team. So, until a Camaro that is tuned by Chevrolet themselves, I will wait around in my Ford-tuned Ford vehicle, waiting for your Chevy.

And if you knew ANYTHING about what the hell you are trying to argue, you would know that the crank in the new 5.0 is FORGED STEEL, made to withstand power of up to 800 horsepower.. And ALL the Modular V8s (4.6L, 5.0L, 5.4L, 6.2L) are 6 Bolt Main Caps, which also allows it to handle power like that. READ YOUR SHIT so you don't make yourself look like a dumbass.

What about the 427 and 428 made in the 60's that SMOKED Chevrolet AND Chrysler? The 428 CJ was THE BEST engine in its time. The 428 CJ made the Mustang the most powerful muscle car in 1969. They rated it a 350 hp to keep insurance down, even though it was WELL over 400 hp.. And it made something like 475 lb-ft of torque.. I've never heard of a Chevrolet 427 making numbers like that back in 1969..

And do you want to know who made the most powerful engine in the early 60's? It was Ford. Have you ever heard of a 427 Cammer? It is a FE-based engine with HUGE heads, and single over-head cams.
@Texarmageddon Another thing I think Ford did an awesome job doing, was producing the 5.0 with a forged crank from the factory. It is capable of withstanding around 800 horsepower I think it is. I read somewhere that none of the internals need to be changed unless you plan on more than 800 horsepower, or somewhere around there. It might have been 700. I just know that the Shelby GT350 has the 5.0 with a Whipple S/C and makes more than 600 horsepower.

Worked at the KC assembly plant for 8 years. Worked in Paint Trim Chassis and I.P. lines. I would never buy a FORD. They are cheaply made and way over priced. The workers that build your car are generally drunk or high. I've even seen beer cans in door panels numerous times. Management only cares about production not quality. Many laws are broken in production. I've even seen beer cans in door panels.
The mustang was ok before they put the new crap tail light design. But Camaros all the way I have a 2011 2LT/RS and would never give it up, not even if I was offered a shelby gt500.

Another friend with a 2010 Mustang that had to be put in the shop after a few months. My Cavalier was put in the shop once, but was cheap to fix up... and my Camaro hasn't had any problems. Both cars have over 100k miles.

I am a LT1, and LS1 fan and about to own a 02 SS, but the new camaro is ugly, and slow. The GT out runs the SS FFS. I would take the new GT it handles, looks, and runs better.

Just traded my 2008 Mustang Bullitt for a 2010 Camaro SS/RS and there is no comparison. The Camaro is a much better built, looks better and is faster! You can sell fast ugly cars, good looking slow cars, but the Mustang is slow and ugly!

Comparing the SS1 or 2 to the Gt500 is stupid. Why don't you compare the Cobalt SS to an NSX. Neon Srt to an S2000. Mustang Gt500 to a Z06. At certain price ranges that concept just fails. The only cars that break that trend are the Zr1/ACR Viper/ GT-r
i can't say the rear is very nice at all on the Camaro, and from what i have seen, the Camaro has limited view on the inside, thus it has major blind spots, and that is mostly due to the high belt line, and small windows, also Mustang is the only car out of the three (Camaro,Challenger,Mustang) to give the people in the front seats, the classic option to rest there arm out the window, because the belt line doesn't go up to your shoulders high in the Mustang
the camaro's are huge, square turds...they are so big and have terrible visibility, not a big interior for how big the car is, and the 0-60 60-0 1/4 mile times are .1 secs less or the same as the mustang.
I would pick the Camaro either, because it has a lot of history. Camaro SS was one of the best muscle cars, and, if you ask me, still is. When you think of a muscle car, the first car that pops up, is the Camaro SS. Chevy all the way.. Cheers!

...but you can't see out of the camaro. I'm 16 and a huge car buff, the camaro has more car 'sex appeal' with its parts in movies such as transformers, but when it comes down to it... the mustang is the far better car. Don't get me wrong, the camaro isn't bad, just not as good. I get to take a little test drive in the 6.2 camaro this spring because I know a chevy dealer, but I'm still gonna wish it was a good ole 2011 5.0

@TrailRider9664 Take the Mustang. It has OBD2, which means you can tune the engine for more power by plugging in a tuner, where you can't with the Camaro. They switched to OBD in 1997, great advice you should never forget. :)
Plus the Mustangs from 1997 to 2004 were the best ever made, in exception to the 2011. lol :)

You know, everyone always compares the GT500 to the Camaros being upgraded by people like Hennsssey, and whoever makes the 'ZL575'....
There's a BIG difference, and misunderstanding... The GT500 Mustang is tuned and built by FORD themselves.. Shelby has had ties with Ford since the beginning of the Mustang.. and SVT (Special Vehicle Team) is Ford's own team. So, until a Camaro that is tuned by Chevrolet themselves, I will wait around in my Ford-tuned Ford vehicle, waiting for your Chevy.

I also love how Chevy puts a big block in the Camaro to compete with the small block in the Mustang. 5.0 vs 6.2, who wins? 5.0 does, by a lot. xD It's just hilarious to me.

And if you knew ANYTHING about what the hell you are trying to argue, you would know that the crank in the new 5.0 is FORGED STEEL, made to withstand power of up to 800 horsepower.. And ALL the Modular V8s (4.6L, 5.0L, 5.4L, 6.2L) are 6 Bolt Main Caps, which also allows it to handle power like that. READ YOUR SHIT so you don't make yourself look like a dumbass.

But in today's world, it is considered a Big Block because of the displacement.

Ford's 6.2 is not a physical Big Block, since it is built from the same platform as the 4.6, the 5.0 and the 5.4. it's a Modular engine.

The terms 'Big Block' and 'Small Block' ORIGINATED from GM.. Back in the day (and even now) they only had 2 physical engine sizes.. the small block (327, 350, 400, etc) and the big block (427, 454, 502, etc).. But later on, Chevy guys started calling the physically larger Ford engines "Big Blocks".. Even though Ford went by series.. 385 series (351M, 400M, 460), FE (352, 360, 390) and the 289/302/351W..

What about the 427 and 428 made in the 60's that SMOKED Chevrolet AND Chrysler? The 428 CJ was THE BEST engine in its time. The 428 CJ made the Mustang the most powerful muscle car in 1969. They rated it a 350 hp to keep insurance down, even though it was WELL over 400 hp.. And it made something like 475 lb-ft of torque.. I've never heard of a Chevrolet 427 making numbers like that back in 1969..

@embarqdo The Mustang with either the 428 CJ or the 429 BOSS were right up there too. I think 11.5s or something.. not 100% sure though.
Another interesting fact is that the 429 BOSS is a Hemi. (The only thing that makes a "Hemi" a Hemi, is the shape of the combustion chambers. They're HEMIspherical.)
And do you want to know who made the most powerful engine in the early 60's? It was Ford. Have you ever heard of a 427 Cammer? It is a FE-based engine with HUGE heads, and single over-head cams.

@Texarmageddon Another thing I think Ford did an awesome job doing, was producing the 5.0 with a forged crank from the factory. It is capable of withstanding around 800 horsepower I think it is. I read somewhere that none of the internals need to be changed unless you plan on more than 800 horsepower, or somewhere around there. It might have been 700. I just know that the Shelby GT350 has the 5.0 with a Whipple S/C and makes more than 600 horsepower.

Worked at the KC assembly plant for 8 years. Worked in Paint Trim Chassis and I.P. lines. I would never buy a FORD. They are cheaply made and way over priced. The workers that build your car are generally drunk or high. I've even seen beer cans in door panels numerous times. Management only cares about production not quality. Many laws are broken in production. I've even seen beer cans in door panels.

Just a bad oil pressure sensor.. very cheap replacement to an aftermarket one.. You don't have enough substantial evidence to prove reliability and neither do I. Second, learn the effects of displacement. FYI, Ford made a N/A 5.4 making 385hp and 385lbs/tq (2000 Cobra R). Where was the 2000 Z06 again? @Texarmageddon Ford's aren't very realible at all. I know a lot of people complaining about Ford. I have a buddy with a broken down 2001 Mustang. Another friend with a 2010 Mustang that had to be put in the shop after a few months. My Cavalier was put in the shop once, but was cheap to fix up... and my Camaro hasn't had any problems. Both cars have over 100k miles.

comparing the SS1 or SS2 Camaro to a Mustang GT is stupid, it should have been a GT500 Mustang, as that is the ultimate factory edition of the Mustang, but then the Shelby would have wiped the floor with the Camaro heap, also in 2011 that 4.6 V8 is being replaced by the all new ass kicking 5.0 V8 with 412HP and with the 305HP 3.7 V6 as the base, all i can say is, Camaro watch your back, Mustang is putting on a bigger horse shoe to kick your ass

Comparing the SS1 or 2 to the Gt500 is stupid. Why don't you compare the Cobalt SS to an NSX. Neon Srt to an S2000. Mustang Gt500 to a Z06. At certain price ranges that concept just fails. The only cars that break that trend are the Zr1/ACR Viper/ GT-r

i can't say the rear is very nice at all on the Camaro, and from what i have seen, the Camaro has limited view on the inside, thus it has major blind spots, and that is mostly due to the high belt line, and small windows, also Mustang is the only car out of the three (Camaro,Challenger,Mustang) to give the people in the front seats, the classic option to rest there arm out the window, because the belt line doesn't go up to your shoulders high in the Mustang

Camaro is a great car, but lets not forget Mustangs started it all in 1966 and have been in production since. We are talking a 45 + year history and I rather drive a Shelby Mustang rather than the SS but as we all know its these two are like brothers, always fighting :))
