  • Disagreeing with macro does not mean you diagree with evolution or any other valid scientific endevor just macro but they always say you disagree with science is science so infallable none can desent I think not. Just look at the global warming bs and how scientist tried to manipulate information to make it look real.

  • @glendaweil Dissent for dissent's sake is rather infantile. Do you have reasons to reject what you call "macroevolution" or even to believe that there's any difference between micro- and macroevolution? Very well, go ahead and present those reasons. Once you're provided with answers and evidence that your objections are baseless - and you will - all we ask is that you drop it and SHUT THE FUCK UP! Science is not infallible, but it trumps mythology every time. Evolution is real, live with it.

  • @Kalevala87 Never said evoluion was not real just macro evoluton or te we came from apes bs so you shut the F up and try to comrehend.

  • @glendaweil You read my post and try to comprehend, fuckwit. I said that if you have any reasons to selectively reject what you call macroevolution, go ahead and present those reasons. They will be invariably and utterly debunked. They've been time and again before. There is no distinction between micro- and macroevolution. They are the same damn phenomenon observed on different time scales. Your failure to understand this changes nothing.

  • @Kalevala87 Your the one with no proof just micro X mllions ofyears just has to equal macro guess what it does not.

  • @glendaweil Umh, yes it does. Unless you can explain what that magical, invisible barrier that you think prevents organisms from undergoing speciation actually is.

  • @Kalevala87 Magical and invisble yea that describes macro.

  • @glendaweil Don't deflect, dimwit. Explain how this magical barrier of yours works. Until then, evolution is fact and you are a moron :) *pat pat*

  • @glendaweil Oh, and so is global warming. Denying reality because it makes you feel better doesn't change it one bit.

  • @Kalevala87 well global temps are cooling not waming wake up.

  • @glendaweil Not really, pal. But again, reality won't change because you fail to accept it.

  • @Kalevala87 Wrong again nitwit.

  • @glendaweil Nope, fuckwit. The temperature records are public domain. Just look them up.

  • @Kalevala87 Yea especially the doctored ones from the climate scientist in england that had to falsify there data so it would coincide with there BS GW theory.

  • @glendaweil They never faked anything, but if you feel that way feel free to look up the ones from the NASA Goddard Institute. Same results. Boy, it must suck to be as stupid as you are. I feel for you.

  • @Kalevala87 And accepting this bs does not change the truth that we are closer to another ice age than anything.

  • @glendaweil More empty words without a shred of evidence to back them up. Loser :)

  • it must be nice to have the shine on his forehead to help light the way for his quote mining...

  • A silly man with a big chair but no hair.

  • He should be removed from office as being against science.

  • Evolution is a Godless lie! The National Center for Science Education is merely an affront for the Anti-Christ!!

This country needs to return to the strong Fundamentalist Christian ideals that it was founded on! Don't let another negro into the White House as Satan works through colored politicians!!

Repent now or burn in the Lake of Fire for a thousand eternities for questioning God's unconditional love!!

there's no way on earth your comment from a month ago was serious..if it was, then my question to u is, how did u gain access to computer technology while living in the dark ages?

  • I wonder if when Don McLeroy started going bald he called it micro-baldness, and these days (now that he's lost most of the rest of his hair) he calls it macro-baldness.

  • To be honest, it was just my own superstitious mother that provoked my investigation of evolution. People in positions of power, like McLeroy, will certainly have a more devastating impact on christianity than my dear mother. Anyway, I say, go ahead and teach the "controversy", humanity needs more atheists! McLeroy is so delusional he can't see he's partly responsible for killing his own god, but I guess that's what happens when people believe in immaculate conceptions and resurrections. Idiots!

  • It's kind of funny. I used to believe in evolution as well as god, but this sort of controversy led me to reconsider why I ever believed in god. Thanks to people like McLeroy, I studied the evidence for evolution, which in turn, led me to question the existence of god. Now I'm an evolution-believing atheist. Thanks McLeroy; keep up the good work; keep teaching the "controversy" and soon everyone will be an atheist! Just imagine the scientific discoveries that will be made when that happens.

  • Wow, all this mumbo jumbo about micro and macro evolution and "controversies" regarding evolution! No wonder why people have this stereotype of Americans being "dumb", I feel sorry for you Americans, look at what crazy people are doing to destroy what would have been the greatest country on earth.

  • Yeah this IS kinda puzzling. Here in Europe, nobody (even the most fundamental believers in the very religious country of Poland) believes the Earth being 6000 yrs old. US is really unique on this. But all things considered the US also have the most outspoken critics and leading scientists, who debunk these superstitions. Peace to you all in USA

  • I'm ashamed to be an American.

  • Don McLeroy seems to believe that macro and micro evolution are different mechanisms which is a view only held by creationists. The only difference between the two is time.

People like Don McLeroy should be removed from boards of education around America. This war on science will put America behind nations like China and India, especially China where religion is band.

  • "especially China where religion is band".

it hasn't been banned for quite some time now but they make you register and people cannot just make a church they have to have it approved by the Government. Its a good way to cut down on con-artist

  • watch?v=5xtk2n3ai1s

  • @omiteru We're already behind China and India.

  • How is science a controversial subject in the science classroom?

  • Somehow, controversies regarding one specific process of evolution disproves the entire scientific field for the creationists. They also love to impose the impossible standard of evidence for one particular field of study. Then, they turn around preaching their unsubstantiated hypothesis that never stood the standard of scrutiny they impose on the other theory. They are such hot headed hypocrites.

  • Why isn't he excited about "teaching the controversy" in theories of gravitation? That's a FIERCE debate! Or how about "teaching the controversy" about the Periodic Table? Chemists are deceiving our youth by pretending periodicity is an accepted truth, when it's "just a theory," and has lots of holes, uncertainties and exceptions (lanthanides my ass--you can't just shoehorn fourteen elements in the middle of a period!).

And these bozos have the gall to claim "censorship."

  • Ah HA HA HA HA

I loved you comment about lanthanoids!! Classic!

Damn that make believe F-orbital! Those Mendeleevists/Schrödingerists are just making up stuff to make their theory sound valid!

  • Creationists like McLeroy love to use words like "macroevolution" (one species giving rise to another) but if you then try to follow up and ask them to define "species" they will never give you a straight answer but instead revert to some B.S. about baramins or "created kinds"

What a bunch of disingenuous bozos*

*To Bozo the Clown, sorry no offense intended.

  • Creationists don't know the difference between micro evolution and macro evolution. The only difference is time. Actually, both are made up words by creationists to try to make a distinction that doesn't exist.

It is really amusing watching creationists make false arguments that are inconsistent with "basic scientific principles."

  • oi! what a tool.

  • McLeroy opposes evolution, but he doesn't even understand it.

Why is he making educational decisions about something he doesn't understand?

  • Or, another way to say it:

"McLeroy opposes evolution, [BECAUSE] he doesn't even understand it."

I don't think I've ever heard an argument against evolution from someone who actually understands it. Some people think that ignorance of a scientific topic is the same thing as an argument against it.

  • He very simply doesn't know enough about science or evolution to do more than just take quotes out of context. It's an underhanded approach more typical of a con artist.

  • Toward the end of this video, McLeroy claimed that he was not quoting any creationists in his presentation. Actually, an analysis of his list of quotes shows otherwise.

Indeed, McLeroy apparently lifted his list of Stephen Jay Gould quotes from a Creationist website. The quotes are nearly identical, in the same order and with the same punctuation. But it's the presence of an identical citation error in both lists that clinches it.

Google "Collapse of a Texas Quote Mine" for the details.

  • Like forensic science, evolution leaves its indelible mark in the fossil record, the genome and in comparative anatomy. The fact that Linnaeus and Darwin got animals and fossils pegged so accurately long before genetics was linked to their development says a lot for science and human observation. Darwin got it right 150 years ago. Why can't Don McLeroy get it now? He is falsely trying to create controversy where there is none. Evolution is the sole explanation for life as we know it.

  • Ya gotta love how people CREATE controversy where there is none, and then refer over and over to the subject has "controversial." It's like starting an argument, and then calling your opponent "argumentative."

  • **facepalm**

  • What are his scientific alternatives?
