  • Thats... COOL!

  • i think u need more cymbals lmfao

  • holy crap. your kit sounds amazing, and you're an awesome drummer! was that improv? or was it like "planned"?

  • This kit sounds a little bit like a electro kit!

  • You are an amazing drummer! And very nice setup.

  • fat people shouldnt play

  • @toxicsponge i'd like to see u play better than him. u probably suck! ...A LOT!

  • You are one shit hot drummer old son. Respect to you.

  • How much does the full Paragon set cost?

  • @spudsmagicvideos musicians friend is selling a full set of paragons in a neil pert custom package for a little over 4 grand.

  • such a great playing =)

  • Your drum set sounds very good. However you need to get some more cymbals.

  • how much money was your whole kit?

  • I see moongel. But i see you dont have any on your tambortom or your 12 inch tom.

  • Thumbs up if you wached the whole thing because is set up is realy cool !

  • Dude you have the best sounding kit here on you tube. Mostly due to the mics and your awesome skills ;) (aside from your playing, but your ability to modify/change things around) ie no overheads, etc

High five North Carolina bro! Hehe

  • I use the same sticks as you

  • Nice set up dude! When you started sound testing after the 4 count intro, I always think of Ice Ice baby because the the ringing of the toms in the background almost makes up for the bass in the song hahaha. Kit sounds sweet btw.

  • The tom sound really cought my attention. AWESOME sound on them.

Fatass, deep, colorful and big attack. My taste exactly :)

  • That bass drum kinda sounds like it belongs in a Death Metal band

  • bardzo fajnie, teraz Ty się naucz mojego języka... ;p ...bo ja Twój zrozumiałem... dzięki za ocenę... zagraj z Kimś Kolego... bo jesteś dobry... POZDRAWIAM... YOU PRODIgy... THANx...

  • yeah u should do a tour of your DW drumkit tottaly :) this is really nice too

  • Awesome man, your drums do sound great, the maple sound can't be beat, and the fact that they are thin is a plus because its much different than the thicker Mapex nowadays. You yourself are pretty cool about it too, not like some other drum tour videos.

  • u should do a new one on your DW kit

  • thanks, you should do an equipment tour

  • OMG!! I would give my left nut for that kit!!

  • Sadly, I think I would give both of mine

  • @nanopola

    now lets think this through!!

  • @nanopola I wouldn't, I would just save my money, but, then again, I'm a teenager, and, from what I hear, teenagers appreciate their balls more than most people.

  • @nanopola i could give my left nut and some leg's fingers

  • your drums sound amazing!!

  • hey dude you are awesome, i just wanted to know what you do as a day job nowadays? cheers

    Joe

  • man i love your kit and im not even a drummer your amazing at drums, are you going to do any covers soon?

  • DO you know how the bigger toms compare to shorter toms (i.e., 12x9, 12x7" tom) as of sound?

  • hey man, would you say that paragon ride rings out a fair bit? because it sounds like it does on your recording but i know its a really heavy cymbal and right now i have the AAX metal ride and i dunno if it's cutting it. would you say its comparable to the AAX metal in ring and sustain?

  • it's definitely a heavy cymbal, i've got one myself, theres barely any wash at all when riding it, it's a very solid bang sound.

  • kit sounds great... but I would like to hear a little more from the kick... sounds like it is hidden below everything else.

  • could you do a video of your kit with and without mics?

  • Your rack tom, bass and floor toms sound amazing!

How do you tune you toms? Do you press you finger against the center of the head when you tighten them?

  • Basically finger tighten all the lugs evenly, then turn 1/8 turns on each lug(star pattern) until the wrinkles are gone(Press after you turn, not during.) Now usually the smaller the tom the tighter I tune the head. Then lower tunes as I go from small to big toms.

  • How do you hear the mic'ed up drums if your not weariing headphones?

  • @themotocrossman83 in-ear phones. 8)

  • Also on toms I always tune the batter and reso heads the same...no muffling...

  • Thanks man appreciate the reply. I always have trouble tuning my 14, 16 floor tom.

  • Sounds great even without the overheads.

  • Very nice tuning on toms. Are you using something like drum dial or you simply go with your feel ? Paragons are awesome, I wish I could afford the whole set.

  • about how much did that cost you altogether

  • at 5:35 how do you do that roll? i've been trying to figure it out for ever

  • love the groove at 5:11

  • where's your throne? lol

  • im surprised your cymbals sound that good for being paragons, when i check em out in stores they sound like garbage

  • Awesome kit dude.

  • WOW!

    You`re sick!

    Nice kit!

  • hey gotta ask, your paragon ride sounds amazing im thinking about getting one but it was the ride or mics. does the ride still sounds good without the mics?

  • Well if it means anything I don't even use Overheads in any of my vids. All the cymbals you hear only come through the tom/snare/bass drum mic's.

  • completely fucking amazing kit! and your an awesome player!! rock on man.

  • ur cymbal set up reminds me of jose pasillas's kit!

    nice drummin

  • I love the sound of your kit,. For some reason it reminds me of Tomas Haake or Martin Lopez. You kick ass dude.

  • dude you are amazing.

  • are you a professional musician, or is it just a hobby

  • how tight did you tune your snare? i like the sound of it but i can't adjust it on my snare cuz its an electronic set but im getting an accoustic set soon

  • did you get this set of cymbals of thomann?? there is the same one on the site and this is the first place i have seen the exact same cymbals in size and everything.

  • dude whats the smallest tom thing with a coated head on it called?

  • sorry, I think Matter311 should answer that... **cough**DW picollo tom 8"**cough** =P

  • haaha nice

  • that my friend would be a DW Steel Piccolo Tom

  • Fantastic timing man

  • i love you and the way your kit sounds but the things is there is a massive ring on your kick, sounds kinda cool actually, but you need to get rid of it. your still awesome tho

  • sounds like it's the effect he has on the whole kit that adds the extra ring to the kick.

  • lol, cool

  • It's actually the 13" tom resonating when I hit the kick, for some reason when I have them both tuned how I like the...this happens

  • sympathetic resonance is a bitch but it works here for you, the total sound package is really great.

  • theres no need to be an asshole about it

  • Better fat, than stupid asswipe!

  • how do you get this sound?

    what microphone kind are using?

  • i'd bet it's a seur sm 57. i think... those are pretty much the standards, but bass drum would be somethin else though.

  • nice hair

  • I have the same Hi-hat stand

  • Such a great sound. Nicely done.

  • Wow! Nicely done! I've been waiting a very long time for you to give that tour. Perhaps the next tour can be how you record such a fantastic sound?? What to you use as a mixer/software and what to you record on??? You're Awesome!! Effortless drumming! Keep it up!!!

  • 5 stars for blowin my mind

  • whats in that massive rack

  • NC REPRESENT!!!

  • Great sound xD

I love the SABIAN Cymbals, very nice kit.

  • nj lad

  • Thanks for posting matter!

A video we all needed :)

  • nice kit!

  • Thanks Matter, always love your stuff. You are a talented dude. Would love to see twhat gear your running in your rack.

  • dude the video i like the best that

matter311 made is schism by tool

  • Dude, I've been watching your stuff for yonks. I dunno why one of the major kit machines haven't picked you up with some sponsorship yet. They need to send you on tour man. I pay good money to see you in a clinic. Peace.

  • dam that snare when turned off has great depth!

  • You are an amazing drummer. I always watch your stuff and I don't play drums! Quit your day job. You can make a living doing this, I know you have a family, but you can do it. I did it.

  • Sounds real good man. I plan on getting all audix mics for my setup. D2 for the 10,12& 14 tom & D4 for the 16" & D6 for the kick. And for the snare the i5.

  • good god man that kit sounds amazing. What kind of interface are you using? I see a rack over there, give us a little info on that lol

  • WOW now thats a drummer!!

  • What a sound !!!! OmG !!! Amazing kit !!!

  • Sweet kit, and video dude!

Just, when I turned the bass on my speakers up, your kick sounded as if someone was strumming a bass guitar.

Just something you might wanna check out!

    :)

  • hah, i noticed that too

  • dude seriously u need some endorsments or somethin u r fucking amazing

  • Love the piccolo tom dude.

  • sounds good, i like the dw alot more though

  • love the cymbols

  • Awesome video!

  • sounds great, fantastic kit.

  • Your drums sound amazing xD Mine sound like ass, might be why I never want to play them.

  • I wish I could get my toms to sound like yours. You kit sounds great!

  • thanks for the tour i was wondering what cymbols you had i love the orian kit ,always have. i got the gretsch renown maple cause it was cheaper but it has a killer sound I love your cymbols you got a killer kit thanks again for the tour

  • Toms sound amazing! I love the fill at 7:21 - 7:24

Bass drum sounds kinda off, though.. a little bit too hollow

  • sweet beats man and the kit sounds awesome

  • Dude, sounds lovely :) are you using EC1's or EC2's?

  • EC2's, although I would really like to try the EC1's

  • Ah thought so, they sound awesome, really nicely tuned :) I'm using EC1's - very easy to tune, and get nice and high, don't even need moongel on my 8" :D thanks for your reply dude!

  • dam, wish i could play om that

  • Awesome. But I still love your Paistes! I'm trying to earn money to upgrade my cymbals one by one, and I'm thinking of going with your 13" Dark Crisp hats and the 20" Dry Heavy Ride. For the crashes I was thinking 17" and 18" 2002 crashes. Awesome playing.

  • Man, I really love your style of playing. The ease and fluidity of motion in your strokes...it's just inspiring.

  • Nice setup!

  • you have an overtone or a vibration getting picked up whenever you hit your bass. it sounds like an actual electric bass guitar. idk where its coming from though

  • I think it's mix between the bass drum resonating a bit, I don't have a lot of dampening on it, and the 10" tom is reverberating when I hit the bass drum. A little gate on the 10" tom will fix that though.

  • wow dude your amazing

  • sounds really good man, Nice kit too.

  • sweetness
