Many composers, in the past (Berlioz, Haydn, R. Strauss and others) have dedicated their art to compose music for the last 7 words of Christ.

I did not know this piece of Abel Mizzi: Thanks Alfred!

The music I've used of Abel Mizzi were not composed for the last 7 words, they are funeral marches. Mizzi is a popular and very good composer and well known in Malta.  His son, Archibald (Archie) Mizzi is also an excellent composer and both have some very nice marches, funeral and others.

Addendum to above: A very beautiful composition is the "Cujus Animam" from Stabat Mater by Rossini\Liszt. I used it in my other video "Difficult YES of Mary". I used to play part of it on the organ in church during the Holy Week.

First march is called "On my way to the grave" second is "A memoria di mia Madre". They play several beautiful funeral marches during the Good Friday Processions in Malta.

There is a beautiful funeral march by Melilli - I think it's called "Il Cipresso". Not sure if Melilli is Italian or Spanish.

Thanks John.  My friend Abel Mizzi is a superb composer. He has other beautiful marches. Qormi is very proud of him. I've know Maestro Mizzi for many many years and his son, Archie, is also a famous composer.
