  • I want a wayfarer.

  • Hope to join the throng one day, but this keeps me going!

... small matter of a renovation to complete, boat tent to make, figure out the camping rammel and where to stowe it, etc etc

    Matt

  • Excellent video, the editing is good, shame it's in standard definition :)

  • i sailed wayfarer and they are a heavy peice of shit go for the 420 or 470

  • @osamabinpacman Why sail a 420/ 470 when I've got what I can out of them. I can sail a Wayfarer single handed mate. And you can't take a 420/ 470 to the outer hebrides for a week can you, which is what this video is about. CRUISING.

  • Such an inspiration. I've since bought W3163. Thanks for guiding me in the right direction. :)))

  • Glad I was of assistance!

Get yourself down to the Spring Cruising Conference for tips to set your boat up for cruising, or racing in April.

  • my fave video on youtube. love it!

  • 4:46 = EPIC!!! hahaha.. i loved that watched it like 5 times

  • Cheers, I like that kinda weather, may be some more of that in my other videos.

    Thanks very much :)

  • good job

  • Feel invited to join my facebook group - The East Coast Adventurers. You will find there much more interesting stories with motorbikes, boats and hot chicks.

  • Great video. I can feel what you feel! ;-)

  • Thanks, just uploaded another - have a look!

  • Yeah I like this one better than the 2006 video because of the moving footage. Really good effort. Good tune and it's good the pace changes along with tune.

  • Thnaks very much again! That's exactly what I think, and I'm glad someone's noticed the pace changing along with the tune. :-)

  • I agree - she's really cracked this one! XD

  • Really cool vid kate!

  • Super video - I sail a wayfarer in Suffolk. Enjoy 2008 !!

  • we sailed one of these on a school trip, the rudder flipped up, i i was steering so the insturtor shouted at me, then we nearly capsized, it turned into a tacy or whateva they are called and the boom hit me in the head

  • You mean a tack? And that's what happens when you don't duck during a tack. It happened to me in the summer.

  • lol yh thats the one, we had to wear helmets tho so it was all good

  • Great video!!!

    Brilliant music,what is it?

    MF

  • Right here, right now - Fatboy slim. Not my usual listening choice of music, as you may be able to tell from some of my other videos, expecially the RS500 ones.

    Kate.

  • Ecellent production. Lots of work and thought have gone into this. Well done Kate.

  • Amazing work, just getting together so many identified pictures of named boats, let alone the actual video production. I think I'm going to give mine a polish, Right Here, Right Now!

  • Haha! Thanks for commenting :-D

I'm hopefully going to be putting together a 50th aniversary video - ideas needed please!

  • Nice, you've really show cased dinghy sailing for me.

  • I like the use of stills and video. You sure have packed a lot in with plenty to see. These cruising Wayfarers look like they have a fair turn of speed as well. Great work, keep them videos coming.

  • I've shown this to the lads at work.

Half of them think that it's been professionally done! Shows how brilliant this is!

And we've all agreed that the picture of the boat in the sunset at 3:53 is stunning - hats off to the photographer. Likewise with 4:12, 4:15 and 4:19.

You know, I might have to reconsider my words of "You will never get me on a 16ft sailing dingy" after watching this.

  • I should think so! (reconsider your words of wayfarers)

The photos at 3:53 and 4:12 are my Mum's photos, and the others are Matt's and Robin/Gordan's...I can't remember which...

  • Awesome video - can really tell how much effort you've put into this...well done! And it's a really good song! :-D

  • Brilliant, 5 stars. You can tell how much thought and effort has gone into making this video. I think 4 months is quite quick aswell actually, for the length of the video and the quality of editing, plus the fact your computer only lives on 1.5GB of free space!

    Keep up the great skills,

    Jason.

  • Great work Kate. Thanks for name-checking our boat. Watching this has made me want to go out for a sail straight away.

    DB

  • This is just such an awesome video! You can tell the quality of editing and the amount of thought gone into making this.

I love it how you got the splashes in time with the music at 2:56 and 2:59.

  • Thats bloody mint!!!
