  • it's a lot of money for such a little pack

  • The dad loads the kid as the pack mule while he takes the lighter pack. Smart! :o)

  • what is the region that is in the video? looks really similar to where i live.

  • Wouldnt it be easier to have the canteen on yer belt , or the 2 q canteen independantly slung over the shoulder with its shoulder strap ?

  • Of the proteus and the saber cat which would you recoment if you could only get one. I want to use as and EDC and day hiker with possibility of an overnight

  • Kev-I have looked into the Vuture ii, as well as the Sitka, and Kodiak. Im leaning towards the Condor ii and Proteus, because its not a panel loader, and I like to layer my kits. If used as a hiking kit I can take of the backpack and use the waist pack as a scout bag. If used as a BOB(s) I can lose one pack and still have a kit with me. I might use the Proteus as a EDC, not on me, but near or atleast in the car at all times.

Love the vids and the website. Thank you. Keep up the good work.

  • Thank you Kev. Im leaning towards the Condor II.

  • sublimepatriot1776 - have you looked at the Vulture II?

  • Kev if I can ask how tall is Corey? I was thinking about getting the Proteus with a Condor2/Falcon2 but they look like they would interfer with each other? However on the Maxpedition Condor 2 page they show a guy wearing one that looks like he would have plenty of room for both.

  • sublimepatriot1776 - korey is about 5 feet 10 inches tall. I think the falcon II might be taller then the Condor II. But the Condor II is larger in total volume.

  • thanks for your videos..just bought a 700 reminton 30-06 first rifle..ready to start hunting!god bless

  • DUDE this is strange watching this and you ain't wearing the hat.

I know it's you but it just isn't the same

    Great video!!!

  • lmao....you feel naked without the hat huh?

  • wat the fuck is that shit at 6:30 in the river

  • ....

  • Nice!

  • Where's your flynt?

  • over there

  • i live in louisiana..what city you live in?

  • Dallas Texas. You?

  • Where is this hiking ground?

  • info hero thanks man.

  • an observation, I think it would be even better to attatch the water bottels to the belt instead of the actuall pack.

I do not know if there is any harness for it but I would say that when you carry all your gear plus 2 water bottels the weight is about right to consider it.

    as always, thanks for sharing.

  • I agree with this.

  • Always test your gear before you really use it. This is way you must break in your boots, think about the poor idiot wearing brand new boots on a long hike. Nice review.

  • Do you pack MRE's in your kids lunches when you send them off to school?

  • You've been running with too many old fashioned ALICE packs. Its good to see you try out some molle gear. Take a look at TAD Gear, Eagle, Kifaru, SO Tech.

They make great gear also, even better in my opinion.

  • Does Corey get beat up at school a lot because of your videos?

  • Excellant review 5*

Corey has goten taller since the last video that you had him in.

  • A June hike, good lord bring water!

  • Hey, just a thought. Maybe you could loosen those two buckles that go over your pack and put your canteen under them and then buckle the straps to the other side and it might hold the canteen in. It would be on top of your pack and the weight would be equal.

  • LOtS of canteen discussion! Guess it flops on the back!

  • good review and funny too!

  • sometimes you look like john cleese!

  • How old is cory?

  • think 13 or 14 my age

  • Are they called belt keepers?

  • "big word..." Ha ha!, great review!

  • Brilliant Thanks

  • "It's a little bit tiped... and thats alright." No, thats not alright. Your pack should always be balanced. Other than that great review.

  • what is the regular price on it i might pick one p and your coming back kev

  • Awesome thanks for sharring this vid. Me and my daughter do a lot of hiking so this is something that helped maybe making a choice on a good pack. =]

  • I think I like corey's pack. it looks small enough not to get cought on stuff and comfortable enough to run with... just in case of a man eatting big foot or whatever

  • i have a platapus..its a drinking bladder that goes in the top of your backpack...has a straw that attaches to the sholder strap all you do is turn your head and take a sip of water..holds 1 gallon...they are great..

  • you need some military buttpack suspenders for that thing.

  • I carry a M.U.L.E, but that looks sturdy.

  • I would carry my water in a bladder on my back, the 100oz capacity camelbak is great for warm/hot weather hike. Keep the versa pack for other gear and a poncho strapped to the outside for emergency shelter.

  • Great review man!

    Five Stars!!

  • Great review Kev. Hope Ya'll are hunkering down for the pig flu.

  • I am an Eagle Scout and use the Nalgene Bottle, but I do have the same rig you have and it works great for me. I like it for day hikes and going to the state park on hiking trips.

  • are the snaps plastick

  • I THINK That charlet the spider has a crush on your boys, beware of black widowe spiders. love and pece mik

  • You can't put the canteens on the waist straps? That's what I'd do. That or carry the 2qt on a shoulder strap.

  • You could put a one quart canteen one each side to balance it out. Or canteen on one side and food pack on the other? ALso I would connect the canteen to the belt on each side instead of the straps on the side pockets. It will wear on the pockets. Maxpedition is good aren't they?

  • Looks like good gear.

    Thanks for posting review.

  • I wish I own some land to go have fun everyday. That looks like a nice place to go for a day in the open and explore.

    Where is this place again?

  • enjoy these reviews. you can tell some people here on youtube review their kit then just toss it in their closet and never use it.

gear should get worked hard before it's reviewed!

  • Good video Kevin. Might have to go out and grab one of these.

  • sweet vid,do you know of any good sling style paks?

  • I have never used one, but if you do any hiking with it, it will just get in the way. they may work as school backpacks etc, because you ggenerally not much walking is done. just a warning

  • no not that kind lol, theyr hard to describe but they still sit on your back

  • ok good i had you for a fool for a little

  • maxpedition makes a line of packs like those too. There all under the versipack line, or try the gearslingers.

Or take a look at SO Tech, eagle, etc.

  • Good video

  • nice vid, great review

  • how much money you making as a youtube partner?

  • Zero
