I just bought a code door handle lock, but then had to buy a separate code deadbolt. My old lock and deadbolt used the same key. How can I have a handle lock and deadbolt without buying two separate code units?

@FantasticBob7000 Are you saying you have an electric coded door handle and a electric coded deadbolt? Which model numbers did you purchase? We prefer a standard door handle and use an electric deadbolt. Or vice versa.

@BuildDotCom @BuildDotCom I bought the Schlage model FE595 keypad entry with door handle, then realized it doesn't include a deadbolt. Then I bought the Schlage keypad deadbolt, but it would be goofy to have two separate code locks on the same door. They also don't fit together.

It sounds like you are suggesting only a deadbolt lock, and separate door handle without its own lock, is that right?

@FantasticBob7000 That is correct. An electric deadbolt with a standard handle set would be a perfect combo. Try to stay in the same brand so the finishes match perfectly.

Thank you for your feedback! We have a video on stripped out screw holes Just search mk5RVsrkDpY. As for a small bore hole, we definitely need a video on it. But in the mean time purchase a hole saw bit for your drill at the correct size and drill a hole in a small section of 2x4. Center the hole in the 2x4 over your pre-existing bore in your door. Then clamp it in place and let the 2x4 guide the bit. But be careful to check your back set before drilling. Older homes may have a short backset.

nice video...would be nice to explain what you can do if your old screws are striped or if the predriled hole in your door isn't the right size (too small)
