you know what the weirdest part is? i like super princess peach... in fact i think it makes a better yoshis island ds the the actual yoshis island ds.. its bright, has decent level design, actually stumped me once or twice and brought a new original concept to the table.
Am I the only one who actually likes this game? I mean I just will never understand the hate for it. I mean sure the music isn't as good (though I did like the title sceen's relaxing music and that one track from this game that made it into Brawl) and the other babies crying can get on your nerve more than Baby Mario in the original but gameplay wise this was really fun, I mean so many people get to complaining about Nintendo's games focusing on the casual crowd by having their games *2bcont.*
I mean so many people complain about Nintendo's games only focusing on the casual crowd by having their games be too easy, so they and Artoon make a game that has challenge in it (especially in the later levels where it can be hard to even just try to beat the stage even without collecting all the red coins, flowers, and finish with a max amount of star power) and then everyone hates on it. And to be honest I actually liked the cutscenes, they made this game more story driven than *2bcont.
*Continued* And to be honest I actually liked the cutscenes they made this game more story driven than the original and I wanted to see what would happen next and how it would all turn out in the end (though I will admit the climax fell on it's face) and sure the final boss may not have been as good as the final boss in the original but come on the epic Giant Baby Bowser final boss from the first one is a really hard act to top. I mean yeah maybe not as good as the original in some areas *2bcont
Yeah it may not be as good as the original in some areas, but it at least stays true to the first Yoshi's Island's gameplay formula and at least doesn't stray from that style of gameplay unlike certain other Yoshi games that came after it, its more true to the first Yoshi's Island's roots than Yoshi's Story or Yoshi Touch & Go, and its very better than Artoon's last attempt at a Yoshi game Yoshi Topsy Turvy (universal gravitation for some). I mean I'm just grateful *2bcont*
*Continued & sorry for the long comment* I mean I'm just grateful they made a sequel, I mean I love the first one (technically the GBA ver. since I have no SNES) but even that gets boring after playing through it so much, I wanted to play another Yoshi's Island game with new levels & new bosses one that didn't stray far from the gameplay formula but had fresh new stuff that would make it a new game rather than a port. I guess I'm the only one who was grateful that a sequel to YI was finally made
@Thenumber1yoshi i would have been grateful it it was good and original like its predecessor. but it wasn't it reused the same story with more marketable babies.
@Thenumber1yoshi challenge shouldn't come from just having more worthless collectible doodads. it should come if anything from using learned skills to overcome hard things in the game. if you have good level design and control a player should feel accomplishment from something genuinely hard... fucking collectithon the original wasn't well loved because it was hard it was well loved because it was pure creative fun to play.
@Montork So what's wrong with this one? I mean I even find later stages in the original to be hard (especially the ones where the middle rings are much farther away than the areas you die at for example the level called "The Looooong Cave") I don't get what's wrong with the DS version, sure the story was re-used but not a carbon copy of the original's one (like Yoshi Touch & Go did) and besides who plays a game related to the Mario series for their stories (especially the platformers) *2bcont.*
@Thenumber1yoshi not a carbon copy? the opening is exactly the same with more babies. the story doesn't even make any sense anymore! why are they kidnapping all those babies anyway?
i would play it for fun but its not even that fun with all the repeating levels.
@Montork Obviously you didn't pay any attention to the story, they were kidnapping babies in order to find the star children which would have given Kamek and (adult) Bowser the ability to take over world, in the first game the story was just that Kamek was trying to stop the Baby Mario Bros. from being born by ambushing the stork mid-delivery, so thats what I meant by not a carbon copy, there are differences between the two game's stories, the only thing that's exactly the same is to save *2cnt.
@Thenumber1yoshi wft? why is bowser now an adult and the mario brothers are still infants? oh duh time travel... so did this happen before or after the events in the first game? maybe they are happening at the same time in alternate universes?
@Montork *Continued* the only part of the stories that are exactly the same is save Baby Luigi and if you didn't read My previous comment then please do it explains how Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS's two stories differ from each other which I mean Adult Bowser and future Kamek go back in time to find the star children as for why read My previous comment.
@Montork And yeah the opening is almost the same but did you even bother to at least beat the game? Because I did and actually payed attention to the cutscenes throughout the game that showed that the game wasn't 100% a carbon copy of the original's story, I doubt you even bothered to beat Yoshi's Island DS because here I am telling you to look at My previous comments that tell you how their stories differ from each other.
@Thenumber1yoshi why the f*** would i beat a game that not only bored me but depressed me as well? im not a sadist, i don't find pleasure in playing games i think are s***... i wouldn't finish a book if i found it to be a bore. i didn't finish lord of the rings but like this game i gave it my best shot. i WANTED to love this game but i couldn't, you asked me why and ive told you. i played through the first world... and wanted to cry, i took it in the next day to a local trading place..
@Montork that was two months ago and ive already forgotten most of the "story" it was telling because it was so forgettable. what i do remember is that they used the same background scenery so often it was shocking when there was a change. and the floating mechanics made me constantly think of drawn to life... why should i be forced to play all the way through a bad game to know its bad? i can tell after about two hours of play.
@Montork The reason you don't know the differences between the two stories is BECAUSE you never bothered to beat it and hence why you think both games have a story that 100 percent have no differences between each other.
@Thenumber1yoshi so the argument your honestly going to go with is that no ones allowed to form an opinion on anything unless they have completed something 100%? really? that's complete bullshit!
if i had finished it you would just make up some other half assed excuse as to why this game deserves more attention for no reason.
i never completed chrono trigger but i love it dearly. i know a game that's worth my time and a game that's a waste of it.
@Montork its not my fault you chose to finish such a weak game... or that your defending a game that isn't worth defending. im not going to force myself through something as painful as playing this game just to argue with someone who can't recognize a poor game. I already forced myself to play drawn to life and that was the worst thing ive ever done. sorry you can take your shitty tastes and crappy excuses elsewhere.
@Montork Then I guess Mario Galaxy 2 was a waste for hardly having anything new over the first Mario Galaxy as well other than a few new forms and the addition of Yoshi because if that's your logic between YI and YIDS then that should pretty much mean the same thing between the the two Mario Galaxy games as well.
@Montork Changing opinion? If I recall you're the one who started in on Me when all I said was "Am I the only one who likes this game" you seem to be forgetting that you're the one really trying to force Me to share your own opinion, you keep pointing out the bad things you dislike about the game and all I do is answer why I like the game and why I don't see this as a bad game. You know I thought the Mario fandom would be at least a bit less rough than the Sonic the Hedgehog *2bcont.*
@Montork And I thought the Mario fandom would be a bit less rough than the Sonic the Hedgehog one but as it turns out the people there are just as ungrateful. And don't think you're the only one who hasn't finished something and still likes it but what I mean is you can't know if a movie or book gets better towards the end if you don't see it through, it's almost as bad as complaining about TV shows and movies you only watch about part of the way through. And I was never trying to change *2bcont
@Montork *Continued* And I was never trying to change your opinion just saying why I disagree, I for one found YIDS to be fun and was grateful to have another game that played like it after wanting some sort of sequel to it ever since I beat the first one, I mean the original is fun, but it does get old replaying the same levels over and over again, don't get Me wrong I love the original (but was forced to get the GBA ver; due to not ever owning a SNES) but even the best of games get old *2bcnt.
@Montork *Continued* But even the best of games start to get old after the like 50th time you've played them through, (and yeah I played the extra and secret levels but they wound up being more frustrating than fun unlike when I just played through the game's story but that started to get old) I wanted a sequel, not anything like Yoshi's Story, Topsy Turvy, or Touch & Go, I wanted one that played very closely to the original, and I really didn't mind the extra babies *2bcont.*
@Montork *Continued* I really didn't mind the new babies, and as for their crying, I just follow this one GameFAQS review for the original Yoshi's Island to make their crying your motivation to not lose the babies in the first place, I will agree the music was pretty weak compared to the original though. But if anything I think you're the one who doesn't want Me to have an opinion, because the way you're talking calling My taste in games shitty and crappy really makes it seem that you *2bcont.*
@Montork *Continued* But I think if anything you don't want Me to have an opinion on this game, because you calling My taste in games shitty and crappy sure does make it seem like you don't want Me to have My own opinion, I didn't start cussing at you, YOU started cussing at Me, what do you want Me to do? Agree with you that its a crappy game even though I found enjoyment out of this game? Because it really seems like you want to force Me to share your opinion and views on this game *2bcont.*
@Montork *Continued* Because it really seems like you want to force Me to share your opinion on this game, that I'm not allowed to actually say I enjoyed it, and to say I have shitty taste in games simply because I liked it is just flat out rude to say, I didn't know it was a crime to actually enjoy Yoshi's Island DS, and no I'm not trying to force you to like the game, you're the one sitting here trying to say I should hate it otherwise I have shitty taste in games, that sounds an awful *2bcont
@Thenumber1yoshi you know im going to have to stop arguing with you... your posts are too fucking long and repeat the same shit over and over like your trying to convince yourself. if you can't get an argument across in 3 posts minimum im not going to bother with it... your ranting without thinking your response out carefully. YOU asked why people don't like this game IM telling you why I don't and your trying to find ways to change my mind and asking the same questions over and over. im getting
@Montork *Ok I'll make it short* I just asked if I was the only one who liked this game, you honestly don't see calling My taste in games shitty as trying to force Me to share your views on this game.
@Thenumber1yoshi why are you continuing to argue with me here when you sent me a personal message about it? i told you there if your going to gloss over glaring flaws in a game im going to have to tell you your tastes suck.. or you have really poor judgement on this one. i don't honestly care if you start to share my views or not your the only one whose on the whole "got to change his mind" trip.. i know what i think.. and what everyone i know thinks..
@Montork and up until now ive pretty much just stated the facts. the majority hates this game for its faults that you refuse to acknowledge. live in a fantasy if you want but don't try to tell us this game was good when it wasn't. it just tells me your in denial.
@Montork frustrated with your inability to accept my reasons for hating the game because it seems like any objection i have to this game are being smoothed over by a fanboy. if you've played yoshis island too often go play something else and come back in a year or two.. you will enjoy it all over again. im sorry but your being a troll here whose just forcing a fight because they can't accept the truth. most people hate this game and there is a reason for that.
@Montork Oh no I accept you hate the game, I was just saying why I liked it, but you obviously went too far insulting My taste in games calling them shitty, I'm not trying to force you to like the game but trying to to say you're opinion is the truth and that if I don't agree with you I have bad taste in games is trying to force Me to agree with your views and telling Me I have to hate the game and share your views or My taste in games is somehow shitty.
@Montork And the reason I like the game and will defend it and My right to like it is because of waiting all those years for a sequel more true to the originals, I had to wait through games like Story, Touch and Go, and Topsy Turvy, and considering I had to wait years throughout those games for a sequel more true to the original than those games I was very happy to see one after waiting all those years. Was it perfect? No but then again I was just happy to have a more true sequel than the others
@Montork Thats just the problem, I know what to expect when I play the first Yoshi's Island even if I come back in a year I still know how to beat all the bosses all the stages ect. I don't want to keep coming back to the original because once you've played a game once its no longer a surprise, I wanted something fresh new and still true to the Yoshi's Island series, new bosses, not old ones I've beat and still will know how to beat in ten or even twenty years.
@Montork *Continued* calling My taste in games shitty because I actually liked Yoshi's Island DS, that sounds an awful lot like you trying to force your opinion down My throat and pass off your own opinion as fact (believing if anyone actually enjoyed Yoshi's Island DS that they have shitty taste in Video Games) listen I'm willing to let you have you're own opinion on disliking it but don't go around trying to force Me to dislike the stuff I enjoy insulting My taste in games simply *2bcont.*
@Montork listen I'll let you have your own views and opinion on hating the game but don't you go around trying to force Me to dislike something, insulting My taste in games simply because I don't share your own opinion about hating it, I mean to flat out call someone's taste in games shitty for just because they enjoy something you hate is just flat out rude, its not that I'm trying to force you to like it you just keep trying to force Me to hate it to shoving the reasons you hate it down *2bcnt
@Montork *Continued* Its not that I'm trying to force you to like it its that you're trying to force Me to hate the game by saying I should hate it for the exact same reasons you do and should not be allowed to say I enjoy it at all and saying that all My reasons I like it don't matter but the reasons you hate it do matter and that I should share your own views and opinions on Yoshi's Island DS and that anything other wise is a crime and that I have shitty taste in games, *2bcont.*
@Montork *Continued and last comment* you honestly don't see calling My taste in games shitty as not letting Me have an opinion about enjoying the game and not trying to force Me to have the same exact views you have on the game, why are you allowed to hate the game yet I'm not allowed to actually enjoy the game without having My taste in games called shitty. Like I said you honestly don't see that as you trying to control another person's likes and dislikes concerning games?
@Montork OH and FYI Earthbound trumps Chrono Trigger in the RPG department, at least unlike Chronno Trigger Earthbound isn't a cliche anime RPG with a cliche anime story which are the games contributing to the terrible cartoons in the west copying the style figuring if games like Chrono Trigger can use the anime look then they can use the look and their show will be successful as well, Earthbound unlike Chrono Trigger doesn't do the crappy cliche anime artwork and story.
@Thenumber1yoshi wow i like both games but now you just mad ripping on chrono trigger like that... its funny that you would call the work of the influential Akira Toriyama crappy and cliche when he did the work for the very first Japanese turn based rpg Dragonquest. without "cliche anime RPGs" like Dragonquest there may never have been earthbound flame bate. i was part of the campaigns to bring mother 3 to north America and vehemently defend earthbound. i don't consider ether one better.
@Montork Well excuse Me for having ADHD Aspger syndrome Mild form of autism, I'm not stupid it just makes things hard for Me, and makes Me repeat Myself, besides being disabled does not mean the same thing as the person can't do a darn thing for themselves. And like you weren't hating on My like of Yoshi's Island DS, I'll even admit that Yoshi's Story wasn't all that great (and this is coming from someone who played that game religiously) I'm just happy we even got a sequel,I'll still *2bcont.*
@Montork what i mean by that is we are now a cliche.. two people with aspger syndrome duking it out on the internet over something that doesn't matter. i have it, obsessive compulsive and mild dyslexia. if i didn't spell check all the time my writing would be terrible.
@Montork *Continued* I'll still defend this game even if I turn out to one day not be a Yoshi fan because out of all the contested sequels of Yoshi's Island YIDS is the best out of the lot since it plays nothing like Story, Topsy Turvy, or Touch and Go. Then again the original was a tough act to follow, it can't be perfect, (though the original wasn't perfect either since theres no such thing) I at least was thankful for a game that played like Yoshi's Island after the crap like *2bcont.*
@Montork *Continued* I at least was thankful after the crap games like Story, Touch and Go, and Topsy Turvy (which was Artoons last attempt before YIDS and shows that they had improved miles ahead of that travesty that was Topsy Turvy) You don't like the game fine, I'll be appreciating the fact we finally got a sequel that's more true to the original after having to wait through all the crappy gimmicky sequels I had to see the series go through until a game more true to the original came out.
@Thenumber1yoshi knock yourself out, i feel to opposite, the original was so great the will never be a another. that's why nintendo should give up and in the spirit of yoshis island invent something new.
@Montork They did try something new when they made "Yoshi's Story" most people didn't even like it, they also tried something new with both Touch and Go, and Topsy Turvy, all turned out to not be any good compared to the original Yoshi's Island, thats why they made a Yoshi's Island DS, their "trying something new" wasn't working.
NO ONE LIKES THOSE GAMES BECAUSE THEY WANT ANOTHER YOSHIS ISLAND AND NO GAME CAN LIVE UP TO IT. ANYTHING MADE WITH YOSHI IN THE NAME WILL BE COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL AND RESENTED. god damn seriously.
@Montork I know its not as good as the original, a sequel can only be better than a prequel if the prequel wasn't good enough to begin with, but to Me the DS sequel is a good game in its own right, well I think the people are sick of the two of us, so I'll say we just agree to disagree.
@Montork I mean they were trying new things with the Yoshi series as the games that came after the original one yet before the DS sequel had shown, but the new things they were trying to do with the Yoshi's series weren't working or being all that successful so they tried a sequel to the original. If you mean Nintendo should have tried something new not concerning Yoshi they have games for other characters in the Mario series all the time almost every major well-known Mario *2bcont.*
@Montork almost every character in the Mario series has had their own playable chance to shine, you say they should just leave Yoshi fans hanging forever, like it or not we'd still like to see games with him as the star I don't want the Island series to die, it's pretty much the only game currently that the Yoshi series has going for itself after all I don't want to go back to the Story .touch screen, and tilt gimmick crap.
@Montork And the reason I keep mentioning Touch and Go and Topsy Turvy is because everyone acts like YIDS is the worst game in the Yoshi series when I mention those two games I'm pointing out that we've had much worse Yoshi games than Yoshi's Island DS so YIDS isn't the worst Yoshi game of the lot.
@Thenumber1yoshi but as you can see no one else thinks they count so they consider this the worst game, not because its the worst but because it was a MASSIVE letdown.
@Thenumber1yoshi you already said that 3 times jesus! YIDS is still a mess. its like starwars original trilogy vs. the prequels. the original movies where so good most people hate the prequels just because nothing will live up to the original. doesn't help that yoshi never shuts up anymore.... like someone else i know.
@Montork Well like I said we'll just agree to disagree, I'm sure the people here are tired of us two morons(and yes I mean Myself as well) going on and on, so let's just leave it at we'll agree to disagree.
@Thenumber1yoshi yeah but it had good level design you didn't have to go through the same level mutable times with different babies to get everything. if you looked around you could get everything in the first go. they probably wanted to pad the game out with lots of unnecessary crap just to make you feel like the game was worth your money when all it does is make the game drag. if a games good, even if its short i might want to play it again.. just like reading a good book over.
@Montork *Continued* While it might be true that the Mario RPGs always need an interesting story than the platformers due to being RPGs, the Mario and Mario related platformers don't really need to have heavy stories, I mean since the first Super Mario Bros. the plot to the games has always been save the princess in each platformer. And I really don't see anything wrong with this game, its the one game in the Yoshi spin-off series that plays the closest to the original Yoshi's Island *2bcont.*
@Montork *Continued* And there was a lot of collecting in the original game as well if you don't bother to pick up the flowers, red coins, and bother to collect and keep 30 star points in each level you just breeze right through the game, which is true for both the original game and the sequel, and it does get harder to collect and keep your stuff in both versions, I just don't get why people hate Yoshi's Island DS so much, after games like Touch and Go, Topsy Turvy, and (for some) Yoshi's Story.
@Thenumber1yoshi i don't know why you keep bringing up Touch and Go and Topsy Turvy no one cares about those games or considers them cannon. i hate yids because the original was a creative, beautiful, new imagining of an old concept. it went above and beyond expectations and was obviously crafted with love. it was the swansong of the snes containing a great deal of charm... thats why i hate the ds version it has none of the wonder of the first game and falls flat on its face..
@Montork its embarrassing to play, a shallow copy of something grand. they could have made something special, really pushed the limits of the ds to make something original and groundbreaking like the first title but they didn't!! they made a weak cash in on the now established franchise. i find this the saddest part of all of this.. the people who hate this game loved the first so much that it broke their hearts to see such an empty shell of a game after getting their hopes up.
they should,ve made this for the gba instead,as it would,ve been more cenvience to play it at one screen instead of 2 and hassleling with the stylus, but yeah this feels retro.
@johneymute One problem with that, the GBA was dead in America by the time this game was being developed, Thats one of the reasons Mother 3 wasn't released in the U.S. everyone at the time was playing the DS which was Nintendo's main handheld, it would have been bad business to develope and release this game on a dead handheld as not only would it be shadowed by the Wii hype but also wouldn't have sold as well due to Nintendo's major handheld titles being on the DS with the GBA being dead.
I think this should be called yoshis island 3 or super mario world 3 because yoshi story came out before this and i think yoshi story should count as yoshis island 2
A 2D/3D Sidescroller remake of Super Mario World 3, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World 2 and Kirby would be enough for me to buy a Wii. In fact, only one of those games would be enough to make me buy a Wii. If they would have the same feeling as when I played them as a kid, then I would thank Nintendo incredibly much in almost every way imagineable.
The backdrops and enemies in the old one were actually better than the new one, not to mention there were more and the music was way better, so much so they didn't even DARE put the new one in this video, ugh, we need the Angry Video Game Nerd on this one!
@rcjs2051 ummm i have this exact freaking game so i should freaking know what this game is so it is YOSHI'S ISLAND DS. so shut the crap up fag!!! >:( i have beaten all of these levels and beaten the freaking game so i should know!
@webkinzgirlforever12 Wow you have a game that me and a lot of others who watched this video have has well? Wow, your fucking special! Someone should give you a fucking prize! And no one gives a shit if you beat it,we all did, it's still a pile of garbage that Nintendo should be embarrassed for making. And I stand by my name,as it fits the game better.
@webkinzgirlforever12 yeah rcjs2051 is a fag. and did you notice he keeps watching this video even though he hates the game? the highest rated comment is from him 9 months ago. i think he should stay away from this vid
LAME! How can you insult the name of a mario game legend, like this?? Yoshi's island was awsome, and they try to compair this piece of crap to it? I feel insulted. I am going to go play the original now.
@SaintEianS Amen brother! Yoshi's Island is one of my earliest childhood memories and this... this just ruins them. Yoshi's Island DS is nothing more than someone taking a cartridge casing and taking a massive shit inside it, sealing it and selling it.
i'd like nintendo to make a yoshi game, the ds version's music sucks, extra babies are horrible, the graphics are dull and not as beautiful as the snes version's[which i think has one of the all-time best graphics] and it has some very cheap level design and enemies, it's not challenging, it's irritating
i finished the game, it's ok for yoshi-fans like i am, but for a casual player i wouldn't recommend it, if u got a flashcart, then try it
i have the gba version. one of my fav games of all time. it is so hard though! it took me almost 3 months to realize i am only on world 3! such an underrated game. super mario world was good but yoshi had more freedom in this game.
on yoshis island ds i cant get past the level in world three where u have 2 go up the water fall and the screen follows u and trys 2 kill u so i almost smashed my ds and ive never played it again lol
I think Yoshi's Island DS was ok... But, as I have played the GBA one first, I can say that the GBA one was much harder and more fun than this one is. However, I do like the museum on this game. I wish there was one on the first Yoshi's Island.
there should be a yoshis island 2 for wii, excatly like the original excpect better graphics(kind of like NSMBwii), and different bosses, maybe koopalings?
The DS one rocks too, but the snes/gba is the best. To tell you the truth, I think the addition of more babies and the kangaroo rides are just mere gimiks.
I hated the DS sequel/remake. The extra babies just made it more confusing and shitty. I wish they would make another one, perhaps on the Wii, and stay true to the original.
excatly! the graphics in this suck compared to snes and the damb babies make it confusing wich is excaly what you said. i mean maybe lugui and mario could save baby peach but no more than that lol
@rcjs2051 I somewhat agree and disagree. First of all, I like the extra babies, but this game was harder and confusing because of them. Second, I do think they should have a Wii version, it'd be awesome, especially if it was a direct sequel, instead of being kinda iffy like the DS. I find it sad though that the original isn't on the virtual console.
And IMO the only way this counts as Yoshi's Island 2 is if you play it on the SNES, not some modified version on the gamecube or even an emulator for fucks sake. Respect for the retro consoles!
dude, i hate how all my favorite games, (as far as im concerned the best games too :p) are now on some gameboy, zelda a link to the past, donkey kong country, and now this, idk why i care, i guess its cuz its always been like my certification as an old school gamer to know every lil secret in these, now all the lil guys do too, still couldnt beat us old timers on the SNES tho! lmao
? Wasn't this game cancelled or something well call the graphics all u want (looks like the 1st 1 to me) but it's all about game play and story (sometimes) but hey at least they didn't screw up like the graphics for CBFDLR I hated that Why is conker wearing pants!!!!?
I always liked the original super mario world better than Yoshi's Island, but back then I wasn't wise enough to avoid this game. I don't know why they're making a sequel to this...
isnt it wierd that the SNES game is called super mario world 2? And the japanese version of SMW is SMB4 so that makes yoshi's island SMB5 and this game SMB6!

I stronlgy disagree with people that say the DS one sucked. It was ok, but it paled in comparison to the original.
1. Getting 100% on a level was devilishly hard
2. left all but 2-3 of the mini games (can't remember which ones were left)
3. Music wasn't as good
4. Took away items won through mini-games
I probably have more, but I don't feel like playing it to remind myself what they were. Actually....
5. Less replay-ability.

Thenumber1yoshi 8 months ago
*Continued & sorry for the long comment* I mean I'm just grateful they made a sequel, I mean I love the first one (technically the GBA ver. since I have no SNES) but even that gets boring after playing through it so much, I wanted to play another Yoshi's Island game with new levels & new bosses one that didn't stray far from the gameplay formula but had fresh new stuff that would make it a new game rather than a port. I guess I'm the only one who was grateful that a sequel to YI was finally made
Thenumber1yoshi 8 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi i would have been grateful it it was good and original like its predecessor. but it wasn't it reused the same story with more marketable babies.
Montork 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi challenge shouldn't come from just having more worthless collectible doodads. it should come if anything from using learned skills to overcome hard things in the game. if you have good level design and control a player should feel accomplishment from something genuinely hard... fucking collectithon the original wasn't well loved because it was hard it was well loved because it was pure creative fun to play.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork So what's wrong with this one? I mean I even find later stages in the original to be hard (especially the ones where the middle rings are much farther away than the areas you die at for example the level called "The Looooong Cave") I don't get what's wrong with the DS version, sure the story was re-used but not a carbon copy of the original's one (like Yoshi Touch & Go did) and besides who plays a game related to the Mario series for their stories (especially the platformers) *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi not a carbon copy? the opening is exactly the same with more babies. the story doesn't even make any sense anymore! why are they kidnapping all those babies anyway?
i would play it for fun but its not even that fun with all the repeating levels.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork Obviously you didn't pay any attention to the story, they were kidnapping babies in order to find the star children which would have given Kamek and (adult) Bowser the ability to take over world, in the first game the story was just that Kamek was trying to stop the Baby Mario Bros. from being born by ambushing the stork mid-delivery, so thats what I meant by not a carbon copy, there are differences between the two game's stories, the only thing that's exactly the same is to save *2cnt.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi wft? why is bowser now an adult and the mario brothers are still infants? oh duh time travel... so did this happen before or after the events in the first game? maybe they are happening at the same time in alternate universes?
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* the only part of the stories that are exactly the same is save Baby Luigi and if you didn't read My previous comment then please do it explains how Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS's two stories differ from each other which I mean Adult Bowser and future Kamek go back in time to find the star children as for why read My previous comment.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork And yeah the opening is almost the same but did you even bother to at least beat the game? Because I did and actually payed attention to the cutscenes throughout the game that showed that the game wasn't 100% a carbon copy of the original's story, I doubt you even bothered to beat Yoshi's Island DS because here I am telling you to look at My previous comments that tell you how their stories differ from each other.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi why the f*** would i beat a game that not only bored me but depressed me as well? im not a sadist, i don't find pleasure in playing games i think are s***... i wouldn't finish a book if i found it to be a bore. i didn't finish lord of the rings but like this game i gave it my best shot. i WANTED to love this game but i couldn't, you asked me why and ive told you. i played through the first world... and wanted to cry, i took it in the next day to a local trading place..
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork that was two months ago and ive already forgotten most of the "story" it was telling because it was so forgettable. what i do remember is that they used the same background scenery so often it was shocking when there was a change. and the floating mechanics made me constantly think of drawn to life... why should i be forced to play all the way through a bad game to know its bad? i can tell after about two hours of play.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork The reason you don't know the differences between the two stories is BECAUSE you never bothered to beat it and hence why you think both games have a story that 100 percent have no differences between each other.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi so the argument your honestly going to go with is that no ones allowed to form an opinion on anything unless they have completed something 100%? really? that's complete bullshit!
if i had finished it you would just make up some other half assed excuse as to why this game deserves more attention for no reason.
i never completed chrono trigger but i love it dearly. i know a game that's worth my time and a game that's a waste of it.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork its not my fault you chose to finish such a weak game... or that your defending a game that isn't worth defending. im not going to force myself through something as painful as playing this game just to argue with someone who can't recognize a poor game. I already forced myself to play drawn to life and that was the worst thing ive ever done. sorry you can take your shitty tastes and crappy excuses elsewhere.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork Then I guess Mario Galaxy 2 was a waste for hardly having anything new over the first Mario Galaxy as well other than a few new forms and the addition of Yoshi because if that's your logic between YI and YIDS then that should pretty much mean the same thing between the the two Mario Galaxy games as well.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi i wouldn't know i don't own a wii. i deal in handhelds mostly.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork Changing opinion? If I recall you're the one who started in on Me when all I said was "Am I the only one who likes this game" you seem to be forgetting that you're the one really trying to force Me to share your own opinion, you keep pointing out the bad things you dislike about the game and all I do is answer why I like the game and why I don't see this as a bad game. You know I thought the Mario fandom would be at least a bit less rough than the Sonic the Hedgehog *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork And I thought the Mario fandom would be a bit less rough than the Sonic the Hedgehog one but as it turns out the people there are just as ungrateful. And don't think you're the only one who hasn't finished something and still likes it but what I mean is you can't know if a movie or book gets better towards the end if you don't see it through, it's almost as bad as complaining about TV shows and movies you only watch about part of the way through. And I was never trying to change *2bcont
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* And I was never trying to change your opinion just saying why I disagree, I for one found YIDS to be fun and was grateful to have another game that played like it after wanting some sort of sequel to it ever since I beat the first one, I mean the original is fun, but it does get old replaying the same levels over and over again, don't get Me wrong I love the original (but was forced to get the GBA ver; due to not ever owning a SNES) but even the best of games get old *2bcnt.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* But even the best of games start to get old after the like 50th time you've played them through, (and yeah I played the extra and secret levels but they wound up being more frustrating than fun unlike when I just played through the game's story but that started to get old) I wanted a sequel, not anything like Yoshi's Story, Topsy Turvy, or Touch & Go, I wanted one that played very closely to the original, and I really didn't mind the extra babies *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* I really didn't mind the new babies, and as for their crying, I just follow this one GameFAQS review for the original Yoshi's Island to make their crying your motivation to not lose the babies in the first place, I will agree the music was pretty weak compared to the original though. But if anything I think you're the one who doesn't want Me to have an opinion, because the way you're talking calling My taste in games shitty and crappy really makes it seem that you *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* But I think if anything you don't want Me to have an opinion on this game, because you calling My taste in games shitty and crappy sure does make it seem like you don't want Me to have My own opinion, I didn't start cussing at you, YOU started cussing at Me, what do you want Me to do? Agree with you that its a crappy game even though I found enjoyment out of this game? Because it really seems like you want to force Me to share your opinion and views on this game *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* Because it really seems like you want to force Me to share your opinion on this game, that I'm not allowed to actually say I enjoyed it, and to say I have shitty taste in games simply because I liked it is just flat out rude to say, I didn't know it was a crime to actually enjoy Yoshi's Island DS, and no I'm not trying to force you to like the game, you're the one sitting here trying to say I should hate it otherwise I have shitty taste in games, that sounds an awful *2bcont
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi you know im going to have to stop arguing with you... your posts are too fucking long and repeat the same shit over and over like your trying to convince yourself. if you can't get an argument across in 3 posts minimum im not going to bother with it... your ranting without thinking your response out carefully. YOU asked why people don't like this game IM telling you why I don't and your trying to find ways to change my mind and asking the same questions over and over. im getting
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork *Ok I'll make it short* I just asked if I was the only one who liked this game, you honestly don't see calling My taste in games shitty as trying to force Me to share your views on this game.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi why are you continuing to argue with me here when you sent me a personal message about it? i told you there if your going to gloss over glaring flaws in a game im going to have to tell you your tastes suck.. or you have really poor judgement on this one. i don't honestly care if you start to share my views or not your the only one whose on the whole "got to change his mind" trip.. i know what i think.. and what everyone i know thinks..
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork and up until now ive pretty much just stated the facts. the majority hates this game for its faults that you refuse to acknowledge. live in a fantasy if you want but don't try to tell us this game was good when it wasn't. it just tells me your in denial.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork frustrated with your inability to accept my reasons for hating the game because it seems like any objection i have to this game are being smoothed over by a fanboy. if you've played yoshis island too often go play something else and come back in a year or two.. you will enjoy it all over again. im sorry but your being a troll here whose just forcing a fight because they can't accept the truth. most people hate this game and there is a reason for that.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork Oh no I accept you hate the game, I was just saying why I liked it, but you obviously went too far insulting My taste in games calling them shitty, I'm not trying to force you to like the game but trying to to say you're opinion is the truth and that if I don't agree with you I have bad taste in games is trying to force Me to agree with your views and telling Me I have to hate the game and share your views or My taste in games is somehow shitty.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork By the way I'm not trolling, if I read these comments correctly you're the one who started swearing and cussing at Me like a true troll.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi sigh. battle continued in personal messages...
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork And the reason I like the game and will defend it and My right to like it is because of waiting all those years for a sequel more true to the originals, I had to wait through games like Story, Touch and Go, and Topsy Turvy, and considering I had to wait years throughout those games for a sequel more true to the original than those games I was very happy to see one after waiting all those years. Was it perfect? No but then again I was just happy to have a more true sequel than the others
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork Thats just the problem, I know what to expect when I play the first Yoshi's Island even if I come back in a year I still know how to beat all the bosses all the stages ect. I don't want to keep coming back to the original because once you've played a game once its no longer a surprise, I wanted something fresh new and still true to the Yoshi's Island series, new bosses, not old ones I've beat and still will know how to beat in ten or even twenty years.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi and now that you've finished yoshis island ds its no longer a surprise and is old news. woopie.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork Exactly which is why I'd like a third one.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* calling My taste in games shitty because I actually liked Yoshi's Island DS, that sounds an awful lot like you trying to force your opinion down My throat and pass off your own opinion as fact (believing if anyone actually enjoyed Yoshi's Island DS that they have shitty taste in Video Games) listen I'm willing to let you have you're own opinion on disliking it but don't go around trying to force Me to dislike the stuff I enjoy insulting My taste in games simply *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork listen I'll let you have your own views and opinion on hating the game but don't you go around trying to force Me to dislike something, insulting My taste in games simply because I don't share your own opinion about hating it, I mean to flat out call someone's taste in games shitty for just because they enjoy something you hate is just flat out rude, its not that I'm trying to force you to like it you just keep trying to force Me to hate it to shoving the reasons you hate it down *2bcnt
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* Its not that I'm trying to force you to like it its that you're trying to force Me to hate the game by saying I should hate it for the exact same reasons you do and should not be allowed to say I enjoy it at all and saying that all My reasons I like it don't matter but the reasons you hate it do matter and that I should share your own views and opinions on Yoshi's Island DS and that anything other wise is a crime and that I have shitty taste in games, *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued and last comment* you honestly don't see calling My taste in games shitty as not letting Me have an opinion about enjoying the game and not trying to force Me to have the same exact views you have on the game, why are you allowed to hate the game yet I'm not allowed to actually enjoy the game without having My taste in games called shitty. Like I said you honestly don't see that as you trying to control another person's likes and dislikes concerning games?
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork OH and FYI Earthbound trumps Chrono Trigger in the RPG department, at least unlike Chronno Trigger Earthbound isn't a cliche anime RPG with a cliche anime story which are the games contributing to the terrible cartoons in the west copying the style figuring if games like Chrono Trigger can use the anime look then they can use the look and their show will be successful as well, Earthbound unlike Chrono Trigger doesn't do the crappy cliche anime artwork and story.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi wow i like both games but now you just mad ripping on chrono trigger like that... its funny that you would call the work of the influential Akira Toriyama crappy and cliche when he did the work for the very first Japanese turn based rpg Dragonquest. without "cliche anime RPGs" like Dragonquest there may never have been earthbound flame bate. i was part of the campaigns to bring mother 3 to north America and vehemently defend earthbound. i don't consider ether one better.
Montork 2 months ago
also your getting repetitive again...
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork Well excuse Me for having ADHD Aspger syndrome Mild form of autism, I'm not stupid it just makes things hard for Me, and makes Me repeat Myself, besides being disabled does not mean the same thing as the person can't do a darn thing for themselves. And like you weren't hating on My like of Yoshi's Island DS, I'll even admit that Yoshi's Story wasn't all that great (and this is coming from someone who played that game religiously) I'm just happy we even got a sequel,I'll still *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi yeah i could have guessed...
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork what i mean by that is we are now a cliche.. two people with aspger syndrome duking it out on the internet over something that doesn't matter. i have it, obsessive compulsive and mild dyslexia. if i didn't spell check all the time my writing would be terrible.
classic
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* I'll still defend this game even if I turn out to one day not be a Yoshi fan because out of all the contested sequels of Yoshi's Island YIDS is the best out of the lot since it plays nothing like Story, Topsy Turvy, or Touch and Go. Then again the original was a tough act to follow, it can't be perfect, (though the original wasn't perfect either since theres no such thing) I at least was thankful for a game that played like Yoshi's Island after the crap like *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* I at least was thankful after the crap games like Story, Touch and Go, and Topsy Turvy (which was Artoons last attempt before YIDS and shows that they had improved miles ahead of that travesty that was Topsy Turvy) You don't like the game fine, I'll be appreciating the fact we finally got a sequel that's more true to the original after having to wait through all the crappy gimmicky sequels I had to see the series go through until a game more true to the original came out.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi knock yourself out, i feel to opposite, the original was so great the will never be a another. that's why nintendo should give up and in the spirit of yoshis island invent something new.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork They did try something new when they made "Yoshi's Story" most people didn't even like it, they also tried something new with both Touch and Go, and Topsy Turvy, all turned out to not be any good compared to the original Yoshi's Island, thats why they made a Yoshi's Island DS, their "trying something new" wasn't working.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi your not understanding what im saying are you?
NO ONE LIKES THOSE GAMES BECAUSE THEY WANT ANOTHER YOSHIS ISLAND AND NO GAME CAN LIVE UP TO IT. ANYTHING MADE WITH YOSHI IN THE NAME WILL BE COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL AND RESENTED. god damn seriously.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork I know its not as good as the original, a sequel can only be better than a prequel if the prequel wasn't good enough to begin with, but to Me the DS sequel is a good game in its own right, well I think the people are sick of the two of us, so I'll say we just agree to disagree.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork I mean they were trying new things with the Yoshi series as the games that came after the original one yet before the DS sequel had shown, but the new things they were trying to do with the Yoshi's series weren't working or being all that successful so they tried a sequel to the original. If you mean Nintendo should have tried something new not concerning Yoshi they have games for other characters in the Mario series all the time almost every major well-known Mario *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork almost every character in the Mario series has had their own playable chance to shine, you say they should just leave Yoshi fans hanging forever, like it or not we'd still like to see games with him as the star I don't want the Island series to die, it's pretty much the only game currently that the Yoshi series has going for itself after all I don't want to go back to the Story .touch screen, and tilt gimmick crap.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi talking to a brick wall here.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork And the reason I keep mentioning Touch and Go and Topsy Turvy is because everyone acts like YIDS is the worst game in the Yoshi series when I mention those two games I'm pointing out that we've had much worse Yoshi games than Yoshi's Island DS so YIDS isn't the worst Yoshi game of the lot.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi but as you can see no one else thinks they count so they consider this the worst game, not because its the worst but because it was a MASSIVE letdown.
Montork 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi you already said that 3 times jesus! YIDS is still a mess. its like starwars original trilogy vs. the prequels. the original movies where so good most people hate the prequels just because nothing will live up to the original. doesn't help that yoshi never shuts up anymore.... like someone else i know.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork its like god damn jarjar binks over here
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork Well like I said we'll just agree to disagree, I'm sure the people here are tired of us two morons(and yes I mean Myself as well) going on and on, so let's just leave it at we'll agree to disagree.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi alright partys over then.
Montork 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi yeah but it had good level design you didn't have to go through the same level mutable times with different babies to get everything. if you looked around you could get everything in the first go. they probably wanted to pad the game out with lots of unnecessary crap just to make you feel like the game was worth your money when all it does is make the game drag. if a games good, even if its short i might want to play it again.. just like reading a good book over.
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* While it might be true that the Mario RPGs always need an interesting story than the platformers due to being RPGs, the Mario and Mario related platformers don't really need to have heavy stories, I mean since the first Super Mario Bros. the plot to the games has always been save the princess in each platformer. And I really don't see anything wrong with this game, its the one game in the Yoshi spin-off series that plays the closest to the original Yoshi's Island *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Montork *Continued* And there was a lot of collecting in the original game as well if you don't bother to pick up the flowers, red coins, and bother to collect and keep 30 star points in each level you just breeze right through the game, which is true for both the original game and the sequel, and it does get harder to collect and keep your stuff in both versions, I just don't get why people hate Yoshi's Island DS so much, after games like Touch and Go, Topsy Turvy, and (for some) Yoshi's Story.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 months ago
@Thenumber1yoshi i don't know why you keep bringing up Touch and Go and Topsy Turvy no one cares about those games or considers them cannon. i hate yids because the original was a creative, beautiful, new imagining of an old concept. it went above and beyond expectations and was obviously crafted with love. it was the swansong of the snes containing a great deal of charm... thats why i hate the ds version it has none of the wonder of the first game and falls flat on its face..
Montork 2 months ago
@Montork its embarrassing to play, a shallow copy of something grand. they could have made something special, really pushed the limits of the ds to make something original and groundbreaking like the first title but they didn't!! they made a weak cash in on the now established franchise. i find this the saddest part of all of this.. the people who hate this game loved the first so much that it broke their hearts to see such an empty shell of a game after getting their hopes up.

johneymute 1 year ago
@johneymute One problem with that, the GBA was dead in America by the time this game was being developed, Thats one of the reasons Mother 3 wasn't released in the U.S. everyone at the time was playing the DS which was Nintendo's main handheld, it would have been bad business to develope and release this game on a dead handheld as not only would it be shadowed by the Wii hype but also wouldn't have sold as well due to Nintendo's major handheld titles being on the DS with the GBA being dead.

Yoshi's Island 1 > Youshi's Island 2
A 2D/3D Sidescroller remake of Super Mario World 3, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World 2 and Kirby would be enough for me to buy a Wii. In fact, only one of those games would be enough to make me buy a Wii. no wonder why isn't it so great, it's artoon....
i'd like nintendo to make a yoshi game, the ds version's music sucks, extra babies are horrible, the graphics are dull and not as beautiful as the snes version's[which i think has one of the all-time best graphics] and it has some very cheap level design and enemies, it's not challenging, it's irritating
i finished the game, it's ok for yoshi-fans like i am, but for a casual player i wouldn't recommend it, if u got a flashcart, then try it

@RainSongDream Get the gba version of the original instead.
Mrguy891 1 year ago
this remake is annoying, and is absolute MONKEYS. Although I liked the first one.
ThereAreApplesNow 1 year ago
I guess this is supposed to be a remake of the game, whereas the GBA port is basically an updated SNES version with voices.

i have the gba version. one of my fav games of all time. it is so hard though! it took me almost 3 months to realize i am only on world 3! such an underrated game. super mario world was good but yoshi had more freedom in this game.

just to let you know.. yoshi's island didnt originally come out on the gba. it was first on the snes in like 1998 or something like that...
moshpitman9 2 years ago
This game was...really disappointing. It didn't have the same feel Yoshi's Island had, was Pretty god-damn hard, and just wasn't nearly as fun.
carsr4carpeople1 2 years ago
I think Yoshi's Island DS was ok... But, as I have played the GBA one first, I can say that the GBA one was much harder and more fun than this one is. However, I do like the museum on this game. I wish there was one on the first Yoshi's Island.

there should be a yoshis island 2 for wii, excatly like the original excpect better graphics(kind of like NSMBwii), and different bosses, maybe koopalings?
drummernick34 2 years ago
Uhhh.... Bowser was only a baby at that time, so how do you expect any of the Koopalings to be around?
Spagettieater9000 2 years ago
@Spagettieater9000
i meant with grown-up bowser not baby bowser. sorry
drummernick34 2 years ago
The DS one rocks too, but the snes/gba is the best. To tell you the truth, I think the addition of more babies and the kangaroo rides are just mere gimiks.

I hated the DS sequel/remake. The extra babies just made it more confusing and shitty. I wish they would make another one, perhaps on the Wii, and stay true to the original.
rcjs2051 2 years ago 23
@rcjs2051
excatly! the graphics in this suck compared to snes and the damb babies make it confusing wich is excaly what you said. i mean maybe lugui and mario could save baby peach but no more than that lol
flakyfan1 2 years ago
@rcjs2051 I somewhat agree and disagree. First of all, I like the extra babies, but this game was harder and confusing because of them. Second, I do think they should have a Wii version, it'd be awesome, especially if it was a direct sequel, instead of being kinda iffy like the DS. I find it sad though that the original isn't on the virtual console.
TyrianCF 1 year ago
@rcjs2051 yeah. Yoshis Island on the SNES rocks this thing away
Choppr777 1 year ago
@rcjs2051
the reason this one sucked is because artoon made it, so all nintendo has to do is fire them.
supermariomanfan 1 year ago
@rcjs2051
Don't make the game responsible for your inability to combinating the right skills of the babies, geez...
Eliholz 10 months ago 2
@rcjs2051 i actually liked the idea of the different babies with different powers

this game sucks. the original and gba versions are win. not this one by any means
Darklink32 2 years ago 2
And the music is horrible. They should have hired Koji Kondo again.
Resetti64 2 years ago
This game is still SOOOO cool =D...
And IMO the only way this counts as Yoshi's Island 2 is if you play it on the SNES, not some modified version on the gamecube or even an emulator for fucks sake. Respect for the retro consoles!
Smonjirez 2 years ago 3
How the fuck do you play DS games on a SNES?
LocoRooDude 2 years ago
Yoshi's island was originally for the SNES, the DS version is just a remake.
Smonjirez 2 years ago
The DS version is a sequel -_-
LocoRooDude 2 years ago 2
dude, i hate how all my favorite games, (as far as im concerned the best games too :p) are now on some gameboy, zelda a link to the past, donkey kong country, and now this, idk why i care, i guess its cuz its always been like my certification as an old school gamer to know every lil secret in these, now all the lil guys do too, still couldnt beat us old timers on the SNES tho! lmao
WikidJuggalo 2 years ago
? Wasn't this game cancelled or something well call the graphics all u want (looks like the 1st 1 to me) but it's all about game play and story (sometimes) but hey at least they didn't screw up like the graphics for CBFDLR I hated that Why is conker wearing pants!!!!?

Hmm...I've played the first Yoshi's Island and I loved it.
But why do the graphics look worse in this sequel? Like the design and art looks so awful compared to the original.

ok i managed to get 100's on all levels in the last game and it took forever, i'm ready to take on this next challenge >:D

yeah, and they shouldn't make a sequel because YOU don't like it...
viniciusbarth 2 years ago
I always liked the original super mario world better than Yoshi's Island, but back then I wasn't wise enough to avoid this game. I don't know why they're making a sequel to this...

There is but you can't play as him in the game. I've seen him in about two custscenes so far
LisaMarie216 2 years ago
i guess this is why luigi is mostly scared of most things now, take his experience in the "luigi's mansion"
I still love luigi because he's green and not red.
i remember when i would make my sis play mario so i could play luigi.
Minan3 2 years ago
isnt it wierd that the SNES game is called super mario world 2? And the japanese version of SMW is SMB4 so that makes yoshi's island SMB5 and this game SMB6!
