My experience with this technique, as I have done this once before, to remove wax is that it works decently. After I did both my ears, I tried using q-tips to remove any wax once per week and for nearly two months I could not get any wax! So it must either remove some wax or push all your ear wax down further into my ear.

i don't know..my Italian grandmother used to do this to me when I was a kid..this and rolled up newspaper buring @ far end..scared the crap outta me and didn't do much good from what I recall..I go to the ENT dr. now and get great results..no more wax..yeahhh

I've been doing ear candleing for over 25 years and you need to improve your technique,

paper plate should be a sturdy ,heavier plate, the oval kind is better and safer, covering the clients head and shoudler. the plate should be covered with foil for obvious safety reasons and you should have damp paper towels around the base of the candle for again safety reasons,just in case cuttings fall onto the plate,they land on the damp towel and once again create a safer enviornment.

try to use it without the ear.. it still get the same result... this is dangerous scam... i used it one time my ear got sticky because of the smoke of wax... it wont suck your wax... instead it give u more wax... DO NOT USE IT for your own sake... people bought this candle and would use it for their children... i repeat! try to buy one and use it just in plain empty bottle of water... then you will see the effect it give to your ear...

@noeltorres1027 You should definitely go to the doctor for them to check it out. I've used a heating pad on my ear before for ear issues. Lay your head on the heating pad. Make surey sure to lay on your side that's hurting with the affected ear on the heating pad. Make sure to put the heating pad on low. This helps greatly with the pain, and it may feel like the fluid is moving around. I hope this helps!

really just use a heating pad, put the heating pad in a pillow case and lay your ear on it over night or for several hours and the ear wax will melt and drain out

the residue that you see is from the candle, however that residue does hold small particles of wax that is extracted using the candle.
