I believe you have to be in that MOS until your military contract is done. Then you can re-enlist for another MOS that is available if you do not like your current one. But moving from job occupations to another you have to look into the rank that they are taking, how many slots are available and if you are qualified to enter a new MOS. But if you have questions ask around. Some recruiters are straight fowards, but go ask soldiers who changed MOS-es.
@TheSparkyG it depends on what MOS you pick. Most of my friends who recently got out got job as a contractor and makes 80 to 100k a year. Me I'm taking the long way. I'm getting a college education.
@TheSparkyG if you become a medic you can go to school for about 1 other year and you can become an RN. you can even get your RN while you are still in the army and the military will pay for it. that is what my husband is doing right now. and you can switch your MOS as well to get more training in other areas so you can be more rounded.
I could not be more in alignment with your way of expressing yourself. Uncommonly appreciated and received.

@konic008 - because he went to and passed ranger school... don't let the Ranger tab and the 75th Ranger Regiment Scroll confuse you.

If you want training for a certain MOS, do you HAVE to be in that MOS or can you choose to have the training and go another way?

What does the Diploma actually allow you to do after the army?
