This is one of my all time favorite films. The story is profound and complex, about grief and revenge and forgivness as much as politics. And Kidman and Penn are the best on-screen couple I have ever seen to date.

Oh dear. Duty-bound as I am to watch all Kidman films; only Practical Magic and The Interpreter remain. It seems I'll have to weigh my hatred for Sandra Bullock against my hatred of blustery, faux-Hitchcockian balls. OK man in the mask at the window, let's see what you've got.

hey! I've heard about the interpreter but I didn't know that Nicole Kidman was South African in it!thats so cool, I'm from SA.Definitely looks like my kind of movie, I am so going to watch it!!

The Interpreter also functions as a morality play, asking questions about the value of revenge ... i love this movie... i found it streaming online at

The Interpreter is definitely one of the best political movies ever made. Great and intriguing storyline, perfect acting from duet Kidman-Penn made it look very believable.

@Sw33ts91 But she's poison. Lead actor co-star tend to have dim after or during a movie with her. Penn's next movie was a huge flop. Daniel Craig, Ferrell, Day-Lewis, Jackman were white hot until they starred in a film with her which were all huge flops. Jude Law and McGregor have seen a rapid decline in artistic produciton.
