Great stuff, this is the tour of the Relayer album and they still put in a bit of their history to remind you that you're listening to one of the greatest bands on earth...
This is the music I loved when I was a teenager. It seems like a million years ago now. Then I got into Punk and drifted away. But I still love this song. I like the studio version a bit more, it's more energetic. They should have kept Roger Dean, it was fun to look at those neat drawings while listening to the music.
I just saw Jon perform solo tonight in Atlanta. He still has an amazing voice. He played for 1 hour and 40 minutes and his voice seemed to get stronger as the night went on.
Jon's singing here is better than even some of the studio tracks. Sometimes on the album, he seems ever so slightly off key to me, but here he's hitting everything perfectly and great feeling. Those two minutes of video were better than endless listens of the CD track.
I saw yes 7 times "back in the day", and I was always amazed at what an ACCURATE singer Jon was. And the "standard wisdom" was always that Yes was better live than in the studio.
original version is best ur trippin! look at anderson he looks like hes been up for to long on one thing or another lol, he was like were doing an acostic slow version tonight boys
That's pretty close, but I play I'd play a C#m but omit the minor third (so if you tab [ew..] it'd be x46644) I don't remember the name of that chord though.. (the 'normal' C#m sound alright too though)
And then instead of the A#m it'd be a G#m (maybe you meant Abm?)
Also, between "sunshine" and "to one hundred" I'd play a D.
Yes, I should have written G#m instead of A#m (somewhat of an embarrassing mistake on my part!). The C#m, if you drop the minor third as you tabbed it out, becomes a C#sus2 (I think), and you can get a nice melody line if you switch between these two chords.
Just a tiny addition if you don't mind tranti, Anderson plays a C#sus2 (X46644) instead of the simple C#min. And on the G chord the top notes change with the melody (two one hun-dred > 3 2 0 frets on first string and 3 on the second). Hope this is of any help.
Whether the words make sense or not isnt the issue.......it's the fact that they sound so right.........and thats all thanks to Jon Anderson who is singing for us passing on the message........
Excellent, simple, unembellished version of this song....It still sounds great even without Rick Wakeman on keyboards...Sort of a stripped down "unplugged" version of the song....
Well, first of all, Rickenbacker basses are one of the best basses out there in terms of their distinctive sound. Why was he playing a Rick acoustic guitar? He probably had some endorsement deal with them, I'd guess.
Another great song by a band that had more talent than most of that era. Why they are not in the rock and roll hall of fame is beyond me

I sang this song with a cover band and found it very exiting.
