  • Another great song by a band that had more talent than most of that era. Why they are not in the rock and roll hall of fame is beyond me

  • I sang this song with a cover band and found it very exiting.

  • Que grande YES y John Anderson..!

Hoy desperté soñando con esta canción y no pude dejar de escucharla en mi desayuno.

  • Great stuff, this is the tour of the Relayer album and they still put in a bit of their history to remind you that you're listening to one of the greatest bands on earth...

  • led into a solo by moraz

  • is this jon anderson ?

  • @vinnothelizard :most definitely Jon Anderson

  • @vinnothelizard Absolutely JON ANDERSON!

  • This is the music I loved when I was a teenager. It seems like a million years ago now. Then I got into Punk and drifted away. But I still love this song. I like the studio version a bit more, it's more energetic. They should have kept Roger Dean, it was fun to look at those neat drawings while listening to the music.

  • I just saw Jon perform solo tonight in Atlanta. He still has an amazing voice. He played for 1 hour and 40 minutes and his voice seemed to get stronger as the night went on.

  • what can i say i fondly remember those insightful teenage days of full discovery and reflexion

  • Jon's singing here is better than even some of the studio tracks. Sometimes on the album, he seems ever so slightly off key to me, but here he's hitting everything perfectly and great feeling. Those two minutes of video were better than endless listens of the CD track.

  • I saw yes 7 times "back in the day", and I was always amazed at what an ACCURATE singer Jon was. And the "standard wisdom" was always that Yes was better live than in the studio.

  • check out the version of this song by a group called the red house painters...

  • original version is best ur trippin! look at anderson he looks like hes been up for to long on one thing or another lol, he was like were doing an acostic slow version tonight boys

  • this is better than the "too notey" original.

  • likewise i cry when i hear really good music from the heart. when its real good music can manifest emotion.

  • Oh man....brings tears to my eyes.

    Yes is a magical band.

  • Something this beautiful should go on forever.

  • this is so beautiful i like this version wayyyyy better :D

  • This is Beautiful......I really love it!

  • Delicious

  • Tremenda version me encanta!!

  • que precioso, narra un poco de mi vida... :D

gracias por tocar para nosotros sus preciosas piezas mis queridos maestros ingleses

como adoro su musica, esta version acustica es genial

  • fuckin a!! this is an immense song!! Also i think Red House painters do a great cover of this!! It's an amazing song! YES are frickin awesome!!

  • GORGEOUS PSYCHEDILIA

  • AWESOME

  • does anyone know what chords he's playing in this version

  • well you can see it in this video, can't you?

  • C#m (Long distance)

    A#m (runaround)

    C#m (Long time....)

A#m (The sound. I still remember, the dream....)

E (I still remember the time....)

    A / Amaj7 (Goodbye...)

    G (To one hundred)

    repeat...

  • thank you very much :D

  • That's pretty close, but I play I'd play a C#m but omit the minor third (so if you tab [ew..] it'd be x46644) I don't remember the name of that chord though.. (the 'normal' C#m sound alright too though)

And then instead of the A#m it'd be a G#m (maybe you meant Abm?)

Also, between "sunshine" and "to one hundred" I'd play a D.

  • Yes, I should have written G#m instead of A#m (somewhat of an embarrassing mistake on my part!). The C#m, if you drop the minor third as you tabbed it out, becomes a C#sus2 (I think), and you can get a nice melody line if you switch between these two chords.

  • Just a tiny addition if you don't mind tranti, Anderson plays a C#sus2 (X46644) instead of the simple C#min. And on the G chord the top notes change with the melody (two one hun-dred > 3 2 0 frets on first string and 3 on the second). Hope this is of any help.

  • Ah well, Spyes23 said it before. I didn't see that message on the main video page. Nothing more to add then.

  • Whether the words make sense or not isnt the issue.......it's the fact that they sound so right.........and thats all thanks to Jon Anderson who is singing for us passing on the message........

  • beautiful!

  • this is fuckin awesome

  • BRAVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is just as good if not better than the original.

  • This is so amazing... probably my favorite Yes performance (studio or live) of all time.

  • I second that comment.

  • fantástico

no me imaginaba una canción tan progresiva en version acústica

impresionante, crei que no tenía un ritmo normal jaja

es diferente a la otra version, qe esta entre mi favoritas

  • Yes, this one's so much more ethereal than the studio version.

  • Y is there not a studio version of this anywhere on youtube

  • i was wondering the same thing

  • there was, they've taken it off due to copyright. :(

  • they should have made an unpluged album... this woulda been awesome

  • absolutely amazing, gorgeous, lovely, etc.

  • Excellent, simple, unembellished version of this song....It still sounds great even without Rick Wakeman on keyboards...Sort of a stripped down "unplugged" version of the song....

  • i thought jon anderson was always lead vocalist.i'm not a big yes fan.the lead singer sounds alot like geddy lee here, anyway this is there best song.

  • Awesome..and don't forget it's from The Fish! Peace♥

  • The sound track of my life

  • I love more that my life!

  • that was gorgeous

  • beyond words..what a beautiful song, what a beautiful performance

  • please....dying for tabs and tuning!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why do you need the tabs? learn right from the video - he's playing it right in front of you

  • anyone know the tabs?

  • there is a portion of this version on YESYEARS the video. I allways wanted to hear the full version

Excellent! I learned how to play this song by watching Jons fingering on Yes-Years.

  • how do you play it?

  • GREAT VERSION--GREAT FEELING

  • oh no you cannot find better acoustic version of this song and surely not the most recent.....

  • wow this is bad, check the other acoustic version its way better

  • its not as good as the other version but this is good

  • As much as I like the album version, this performance has it's own life. Thanks for posting. This is an excellent arrangement with wonderful vocals.

  • Muito lindo, mas eles amadureceram muito depois e tocam melhor ainda..

  • weon es hermosa esta version

  • this is the best Yes video on YouTube!

  • What dvd is this on?When is the story of yes aired? Brilliant clips

  • this is unbelievably beautiful. thanks for posting this.

  • how i wish i could be there...it's amazing to feel that there's nothing bad around you hearing this...

  • jon anderson in his prime

  • I´ve just got the dvd with this version..the most beautiful version of "Long distance"..I´ve ever seen.

  • Well, first of all, Rickenbacker basses are one of the best basses out there in terms of their distinctive sound. Why was he playing a Rick acoustic guitar? He probably had some endorsement deal with them, I'd guess.

  • For the first time I see chris squire play guitar live. It's fantastic!

  • And humorously, it's a Rickenbacker guitar!

  • this is the best video on youtube

  • Thanks! I've always loved this version of the tune and I had to put it up!

  • Nice version. Jon's voice is beautiful and unique.

  • Sweet! I've been looking for this. Thanks!
