  • @Jameswaterslive Yes, because the west creates technology for the betterment of mankind, and without any externalities such as warfare, pollution and misguided political ventures. Oh wait....

Africa is such a shithole because of what the West had done in its search for creating a new future. I don't know about you other folks, but I am ashamed at how the West behaves and for whose sake it carries its goals out.

  • i love this tech

  • am i the only one who finds it ironic that a company called general ELECTRIC produces this?

  • The west, where technology is invented to create a new future.

    Meanwhile, in Africa...

  • N2 engine 4 compressor stages , 2 turbine stages

    N1 shaft 1 big fan , 7 turbine stages.

    30 combustion chambers.

70000 pounds of hrust on sea level.

  • @AnarchyRealmz i think it's safe to say he's not coming back. lol. i agree with your thoughts on consumerism and capitalism, as well.

  • @AnarchyRealmz G.E. is amazing. they are way more innovative than RR or any engine maker you can name in terms of commercial. The fact that they work with Snecma makes them invincible. I am really interested about what you smoked before you posted this lol

  • @Lworld63 G.E has been around for a long time. Why don't you check out how they treated Nikola Tesla back in the day. Im sure the majority of people who work at G.E are good honest people. However The higher ups don't care about the future of the human race one bit.

History has many lessons to teach us...... Wait till someone claims to 100% have solved antigravity or free energy. 5 Minutes later G.E will have the patent down..... Just like with the hydrogen torch aye guys...

  • @AnarchyRealmz they treated Tesla like scum cause it was business strategy. there aren't always nice guys.its like Apple vs. Microsoft. Just competition. You call GE's leaders new world order people, but really they are just a company that likes innovation. I was at the GE aircraft engine facility in Cincinatti the other day and I was shown a concept that I can't detail on, but it didn't run on fossil fuels.

  • @Lworld63 Is that so. Was it a inertia based drive stolen from people like Tesla and Searl? Repackaged and ready to go. Not to help the human race but to sustain profitability...... Consumerism pisses me off. Capitalism pisses me off. No concept of balance. These paradigms will die in 2012.

Then humanity can stop being retarded. But anyway in all honesty i do expect some GE Executives to be arrested this year in the coming MASS arrests of anyone who affiliated with the NWO/ Illuminati

  • @AnarchyRealmz either way its time to jump ship. NWO plans have been sunk. Time for golden age in new Human Civilization

  • @Lworld63 but ooh yes the utterly primitive combustion/jet engine may have been innovated better than before. A device that STILL uses fossil fuels. G.E have antigravity they do. John Searl susd it. Nikola Tesla susd it.

G.E bosses are New World Order scum which is why..... Soon enough all shall be exposed and the suppressed technology will rain down.

  • @AnarchyRealmz and by the way they restrict stuff like antigravity to keep it from ending up in the wrong hands. imagine if an idiot uprooted a whole city. restriction is for your own good when it comes to these things. I am someone who is definitely not new world order, far from it. I'm a conservative. whatever the company does for the good of itself is quite frankly fine by me, cause I am a shareholder.

  • @Lworld63 Bull fucking Shit! Who dare give them the right to decide for me? That mentality may have been how some of them rationalize their actions however Now as in right now we are 100+ years heldback in scientific understanding. Also fixing these issues in old peoples minds is going to be difficult because of the perpetuated bullshit screen for a century+

    Unacceptable...

  • It looks just like a telefunken U-47!

  • i want one of these for my bike.

  • Wow lmao the way this guys voice sounds and the way he's talking, it sounds soooo incredible lol it's like the best new innovation of the century ...!

  • bs

  • I wish these companies went opensource with their products, I want to build one of these at home!

  • It's like russian engine NK-93 of 90th

  • NICE

  • its annular combustor and its not new, they use it the LM 2500 which is old as dick its been around since the days of the DC 10, i know the navy still uses them on ddg's cause i work on them, and GE has a shit ton of government contracts, they make everything for the navy. just sayin

  • @qwunk12 GE's connections with military R&D don't surprise me, they've been around for ever... 1950's?

  • @Impess99 Try 1890 by Thomas Edison

  • margin

  • i got a set of these on my pod racer

  • when I see this clip, I can't wait for free and anti gravity energy

  • Its amazing how quickly they design and build new engines these days. ITs proof if you combine thousands of people together then you get the job done more quickly. In fact its a worldwide effort as the production of aluminium and steel requires a worldwide effort.

  • @210482fmj Asizable portion of this and engines to come aren't made of aluminum and steel but instead of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer. You're right though, it's wonderful what many minds working together can achieve.

  • MYT-engine is still cooler.

  • They are not greeenies, they are people who are smart enough to realise the dire effects of oil.

  • @Nibinaear Agreed. I'm disappointed to see people not understand the terrible effects that burning hydrocarbons have on Earth's subsystems.

  • It's twin-angular; not can-angular!

  • one step closer to pod racing me thinks.

  • hmmm.. and yet GE doesn't pay one dime in taxes to the US government.. u know they don't make any profit from all their businesses

  • i pay $45 monthly for my internet and and it's so slow that i can't watch this 240p

video without being annoyed with the buffering.. Sudan is in a serious time wrap.

  • @aby0ni try right clicking on the video window and then click settings the click the folder icon slide the buffer to at least 10 megs that might help

  • its too bad this will never be used, america has a strict policy against using any new/ clean(or otherwise better) technology :)

  • Why don't they alternate the spin direction of the compressor blades row by row? It would seem to be more efficient. Gains to small to justify the mechanical complexity?

  • @abram730 Then you'd have to have two counter rotating shafts that they were connected to (pretty much impossible to alternate stage by stage) or a reverser gear (mechanical complexity/weight would cancel out the gains.) If you look at some newer engines they will have a counter rotating high and low speed core, removing one compressor nozzel and one turbine nozzle, but it puts a lot more stress on that bearing (much larger difference in speed)

  • Having worked for GE and seen the overblown commercials for the products I worked on, I am continually skeptical about anything they state in these ads

  • Whoah! GE!

  • The gap between GE and RR is growing. A jet engine may Suck, Squeeze, Bang and Blow. But RR engines just suck.

  • @apacheaviator1 LOL. RR engines are quiet though.

  • @iceagescrat1 I work around all these engines and RR's are the

    loudest

  • @bonestock69 Really? That's surprising. I guess GE wins there as well. :)

  • @iceagescrat1 Yea the GE engines are very quiet. I will try to post a video of them running

  • But.. Can it beat Chuck Norris?

  • '

why need too many fan blades,,,

    it is too heavy weight,,,

try few fan blades, more light weight, faster speed

  • @bestamerica LOLZ more blades are for Compressing the air at bigger force, its not like the propeller one.

  • too bad they can't build a washing machine that lasts more than 3 years

  • @lifelearnlovelive

They can, but then they would sell less washing machines.

  • @lifelearnlovelive Or worse: a washing machine so automated that the circuit board fails and locks your laundry inside for the 2 weeks it takes a serviceman to get to it. That happened with my buddy's new Maytag Neptune. They didn't even have a hatch release override on it. Nor a manual drain valve. They thought so far ahead they neglected the obvious.

  • @SenorSpode~ haha.... thats a bitch!

  • @marek0086 No doubt. I'll take "The Oldies" for $500, Alex!

  • @lifelearnlovelive They probably can but they want you to buy a new one after 3 years lol.

  • @lifelearnlovelive , Mine are almost 10 years old..Refrigerator is near 18 years old all GE

  • Where can I buy it? I want one.

  • I'm sold. Where can I pick one up?

  • global warming needs them...

  • Everyone complaining about fuel efficiency is an idiot.

Per passenger per mile an A380 and in fact most civil aircraft will get better fuel efficiency per mile than a 1 litter diesel car. Before you run your mouth off do some research, and appreciate the time and effort engineers go through to try and shut you hippies up!

  • @nojhead Most people are just to stupid to understand cause i remember hearing that a 747 uses (i cant remember if it was for the whole plane or per engine but it might be per engine) 6 gals of fuel a mile but if you truely think about it doesnt it carry a few hundred passengers and than take that in to play and i can believe what you said about it having better fuel efficiency than a 1 litre diesel.

  • Looks Annular to me...

  • Looks Annular to me...

  • @Chumly409 Yes. The can-annular design was new in 1955. What's new in this design is the lack of mixing air holes. That is going to reduce the cost of making the things, and reduce the opportunity for cracking due to thermal stresses. So it costs less, and lasts longer.

And I don't know about the GenX, but a CF6 annnular combustor ( an older, more conventional design with cooling air holes) costs over half a million US, so any savings is a good thing.

  • if they can make an engine that runs only on the whining of greenies, i would salute them.

  • @Endolaylith It's a really good thing for us all, that ignorant people like you aren't in charge of anything important in this world.

  • @Endolaylith if they did we would never run out of energy

  • @fishfinder401 But then there would be nobody whining to run on....0_0 we are gonna run out of fuel no matter what NOOOO..o look I'm whining now were OK..Wait noooooo....OK there we go...noooo....DAMN IT

  • @Endolaylith If they made an engine that ran on anti-green people it would be constantly flooded & be unable to operate.

  • @Endolaylith But then the greenies might be happy and stop whining. So they will end up burning fuel in their backyards so greenies whine again making engines fly again. lol

  • @Endolaylith An unlimited fuel source.

  • @Endolaylith Probably the funniest comment I've seen in years

  • @Endolaylith If only we could make an engine that runs on the stupidity and shortsightedness of people like you...

  • @idontcare80 what are you talking about, i have found the energy solution. you are the short sighted one!

  • @Endolaylith Sorry, but it only makes sense to use a fuel source that is in abundant supply.

  • @idontcare80 There will never be an end to the masses of whining greenies. so it is limitless.

  • @Endolaylith The only reason "whining greenies" even exist is because of the actions of shortsighted morons in the first place! If the moron problem is solved (by using morons as a fuel source) the "whining greenie" problem will also go away. Logic FTW.

  • @idontcare80 Your logic is flawed. There are more environmental issues in the world to whine about for greenies than just energy problems. Animal Extinction, Industrial pollution, and so on. Logic FTW.

  • @Endolaylith But the majority of people don't give a fuck. More morons = more energy.

  • Comment removed

  • @Endolaylith

Aren't all those problems stemming from our extreme thirst for more energy? More people + More (notice "more") technology = More energy. More energy = More emissions of all sorts which, in turn = the Global "crisis" we are supposedly in today. The more you bitch, the more energy you are using, the more you are compounding the problem. So fuck your logic. Math + Common sense FTW

  • @xxschlager420xx Strawman argument + self defeating argument (Your better off taking action than wasting energy debating as you have done) = Fail. Also Common sense is based on socially accepted assumptions = not always right. Please refrain from attacking the person rather than the argument, it's quite immature. Math FTW. I'm not wasting any more time on this I've already harvested plenty of whining to prove my point.

  • @Endolaylith

    Lol Trolling FTW :-D

  • @idontcare80 As a product of the ultimate bleeding heart liberal upbringing, PEOPLE FTW EVERY TIME. Cunt....

  • @garretth48 What are you talking about? Retard.

  • @garretth48 Sorry, that should have read: What are you talking about, retard?

  • rule of thumb: all jet engines are hugely inefficient

  • @rietveen26 You have no idea what you are talking about! Highly efficient and pound for pound the most efficient engines on the planet!

  • wow, very nice video, thanks

It looks like a normal annular combustor to me as iliassBettioui said, not doubble anular?

  • is incredible !

  • Isnt this just annular? i.s.o can annular.

  • no fossile fuels don't you guys get it we do not need fossile fuels, nothing change

  • The unit runs on natural gas which happens to be a fossile fuel.

  • @abmz1970 It's kerosene. And when calculating the fuel consumption per passenger. It's highly efficient. And what other type fo fuel source are you going to use for a jet? Do you know how expensive bio fuels are?

  • @abmz1970 so just put the gas can in the ground to become fozzilised then use it? am i right?

  • @abmz1970 That they are replaceable in many applications does not make them unnecessary in others. Fossil fuels have a place in society, but they DEFINITELY don't deserve the "only" place, or even the top.

  • I cant wait for scram/ ram jet tech to become commercially viable

  • @DieselDownunder I'm waiting for the Cryoplane (Hydrogen fuel plane). Airbus is on the desktop to bring it to life :-)

  • @DieselDownunder SCRAM and RAM jet propulsion systems only operate efficiently at near sonic or supersonic speeds, they can be altered to operate at lower speeds but these turbofan engines are currently and will probably remain the most efficient engine for slow speed flight. I will agree that RAM and SCRAM jets are ridiculously cool.

  • @DieselDownunder probably not happening since that would mean the need for sr-71 like fuselages that require ultra-expensive materials and designs that can't take many people. So no even if the scramjet becomes viable it doesn't mean we'll see scramjet airliners. It's a pipe-dream of the uneducated.

What will happen however is that engines will become ultra-efficient in the following decades and run on highly green and cheap alternative fuels. Put your science-fiction ideas away.

  • @Foxx1981 you glymse in the mirror......good day to you chap

  • @Foxx1981 you glymse in the mirror......good day to you chap

  • Sir i find your retort absurd, likewise i was not partial and quite offended about the science-fiction remark. I will like to extend to you an important contradiction to your argument and bestow upon your goodself some education in the areas under focus, that being that scram/ram jet isnt a pipe dream of tin foil hat wearing sci-fi star trek geeks...its actually something quite a bit more tangeable.....its called REALITY...something you find repulsive as you are no doubt tortured by

  • @DieselDownunder I was under the impression that Scram/Ram Jet design is limited to traveling below the speed of sound. Not that too many commercial vehicles operate above it, but the German V series rockets had a heck of a time dealing with it. So what happens when we want travel faster?

  • @DieselDownunder don't forget impulse or even electric :)

  • nice post thx

  • Dude you are so damn stupid. Is that your hobby? Writing dumb comments on scientific videos? Thumbs up.

  • thank youuuuu.......very interesting

  • Very cool,Thanks.

  • General Electric is the real Umbrella Corporation in the world.

  • Co0l braahhh...
