Well, Cairns tend to eat a lot, so keep their meal scheduled well ans stick to it. They tend to dig a lot also, mine literally dug a hole through our couch. When I disicpline my dog I use a very firm tone, but not angry. Say it once and with firmness, and your dog should listen to you after a few times. If they get overly anxious I would suggest lightly smacking them on the rear with a newspaper. It helps reinforce the tone mentioned earlier. That's what I do, and it seems to work. Good luck!
Aww... that's adorable! That's common with most dogs, including mine. He used to tug on my jeans when I tried to leave the house. Eventually he did grow out of it, but he still whines when I leave. I would suggest training him to sit when you leave and give him a treat right before you close the door. Then give him a treat when you return so that he looks forward to you leaving and returning. I hope this helped, thanks for asking! Good luck!
I love my Cairn. The breed tend to have allergies and they like to dig and chew a lot but overall they're very obedient pets given you train them properly. They're hypoallergenic so they're great for someone with allergies to dogs. I totally think they make good pets.
So. Damn. Cute.

I think it depends on how early you introduce the dogs to each other. My dog is pretty friendly to the other 3 cats he lives with, but they hate him.
I don't think you'll have much of an issue honestly, Cairns are pretty friendly creatures.
