  • The rolloing stones are okay, the beatles are the best band EVER! the stones just copied the beatles. Lennon/Mccartney wrote the stones entire first album for them.

  • the most overrated band ever behind Beatles and Led Zepp. That don't mean I don't like them.

  • @RnSTutorials How are they overrated?

  • @RnSTutorials that could possible be the most retarted comment that i have ever read if you think there OVERrated then you would not like them the correct thing to say would be they are the most influencial bands greatest bands and most popular

  • hey, check out my song "ruminate" on iacmusic.com; i'm seeking a contract..

  • i will listen to stones until the day i die

  • Mick rolling his eyes at "Lets spend some time together" haha

  • Keeeith richards the best

  • why did they accept to change let's spend the night together for let's spend some time together

  • @jebavepartout; They accepted the censored lyric because they'd enjoyed a good relationship with Ed Sullivan. Back then, to perform your song on Ed Sullivan meant watching it go Top-5 before the week was out

The Stones weren't about to let two words from the "B" side of their record cheat them out of seeing the "A" side - "Ruby Tuesday" go Top-5 in the US. So, they did what CBS wanted - "Ruby Tuesday" went straight to #1 and "Let's Spend The Night Together" charted at #55.

  • la

  • KR plays piano? I've read his book and I never knew he did. Does not really surprise me though because he's a musical genius.

  • @Yellow4494 It does actually say that in his book :)

  • Seeing Mick's big lips and big blue eyes up close is the most beautiful thing in the world.

  • LOOOOOVE YOU BRIAN !!!!!

  • To the chap whom said they didn't contribute to the industry. YOU MUST BE JOKING!!

    How old are you, 10!

They were and still are one of the original great rock bands.

    Go and listen to Justin

  • @fashiznit78 do u realize how stupid you sound saying that? go ahead continue to listen to lady gaga, pitbull, etc. i will listen to the rolling stones ACTUAL MUSIC

  • Haha, 1:17 Jagger rolls his eyes at having to sing "let's spend some time together"

  • Did they really appear that many times in the Ed Sullivan show or are there clips from other TV shows here?

  • @fredmila They appeared 6 times on The Ed Sullivan Show. 10/25/64, 5/2/65, 2/13/66, 9/11/66, 1/15/67 & 11/23/69. Twice they played 2 songs, on all the others they played 3 or 4 songs. In total they played 17 songs on the show.

  • @jbrown1169 Thanks for the info

  • Someone said the Beatles were "pop";. They were just a little more than pop. If you think that's all they were, you haven't listened to much of the stuff they did. I do think the Stones were a little bluesier and heavier, but who knows what direction they might have gone if they had stayed together? On a different note, how can anybody not love the Stones?

  • love this "informational" to promote the dvd set. THE STONES LIVE WITH "LITTLE AMPS" but big soullllfullll sound......live on Ed Sullivan.....and in living color.

  • Goddamn, Mick Jagger is fall down gorgeous!

  • Didn't know they were still appearing on Sullivan's show as late as 1969. Pretty much till the end. He finished a few years later

  • AS ALWAYS, TWO STEPS BEHIND THE BEATLES.

  • Keisha Richards looks amazing

  • yeahhhh...!!

  • Brian Jones was so great !!!

    Great band !!!

  • i was never into this group, i dont know y i could not like their music that much

  • @newamanece me too. i just think they looked great doing it.

  • @violenthues I think I know why i was never into these locos: their music is not dance-able; back in those days at least. The music we would dance to was santana and music of my country, more like the cuban music (merengue, salsa, cumbia). But NO WAIT Rolling Stones, their music is more like for heavy drinkers and drug addicts.

  • @newamanece i see what you mean about it not being danceable. and the drinkers and drug addicts, lol, in some cases you are right.

  • @newamanece Why watch the vid then?

  • @KellyGreen5555 somehow it showed up in my computer and I clicked it

  • 1:19 - 1:30 mick had apparently snorted 1/2 a bag of coke prior to that particular performance- nice

  • The Wikipedia article on "Let's Spend the Night Together" is apparently wrong, if that clip of "Gimme Shelter" is from the Sullivan Show. It says Ed banned them after the "Let's Spend Some 'Time" Together" appearance. Somebody with a sober brain should go fix it.

  • @jimfliptx He did ban them but allowed them to come back, if that makes any sense.

  • 1:19 Definitely one of the highlights of all Youtube music videos, the compliance of Mick to Ed's rules and the eyes rolling to sing different words than the original. Different than the Lizard King's little deal........

  • Satchmo & Ella- the Stones are in pretty intense company!!

  • Comment removed

  • Joan rivers was ugly back then and now HOLLYYY COOWWW!!!

  • happy 2012 cyberfriends!! nice looking dvd set looks a l lot better then the bootleg versions we all bought at our local record shop clear picture nice job sofa ent. watching the dvd the singles 1962 - 1970 feeling the old days 80's where are you ghost mossass peeps

  • lol look at charlie at 1:08 :D

  • So the eye roll actually happened!

  • One of the all time great bands....

  • loved Brian Jones

  • What is the song of 0:38 minutes?

  • @TobiasP99 the last time ,do you know what the song before satisfaction is ? the very first one

  • @bobluman4 'Paint it Black'.

  • @kwapaz thank you !

  • @bobluman4 the first song is " paint it black " , with brian jones on sitar.

  • @bobluman4 Paint it Black.

  • @TobiasP99 The Last Time

  • whats the song at the very start before satisfaction ?

  • CREO QUE ERES UNA PERSONA QUE SIMPLEMENTE NO SABE NADA HECERCA DE LA BUENA MUSICA Y POR ESO PIENSAS ESO

  • Fuckin Rolling Stones!!!!!!

  • Keith started looking hot once he got on the smack: 0:56

    Weird.

  • this would be an absolutely dreamy gift for the whole family to watch over the holidays ((=^.^=))

  • can we at leat have one song at a time?

  • The Rolling Stones are the reason why I started playing guitar! What's that guitar stood behind Brian called? Does anyone know??

  • @kemcyPeace

If you mean the guitar at 1:13 it looks like an Epiphone Casino.

  • @CrAzyUT00BP00P5 aye man they're 2 TOTALLY different types of music how can they copy?

  • they copy the beatles all the time.

  • @CrAzyUT00BP00P5

They did NOT want to be anything like the Beatles at all... Keith has said this a number of times and the rest of the band. They wanted to be the "bad" boys who fit in with the dirty blues and jazz lovers. Although they did admire the Beatles and hung out numerous times in the studio and even provided backing vocals, they were there own band. If you are referring to the clothing style and hair style, you need to look at other bands of the time also.

  • @CrAzyUT00BP00P5 Maybe you just don't know The Beatles enough.

  • @CrAzyUT00BP00P5 Why would you even say that?! haha

  • @CrAzyUT00BP00P5

No! They are nothing like the Beatles! The Beatles are pop whereas the Stones are heavily influenced by the blues. They were friends but actually ensured there was no competition because they had a completely different sound.

  • I love how Jagger rolls his eyes when he sings the changed lyrics.

  • I NEED these dvds.

  • GO DARTFORD!

Birthplace of Vox amplifiers and the Rolling Stones!!!

    Dartford...

The "Home" of British Rock and Roll!!

  • HMV in Edmonton,Alberta,Canada does not carry the 6-show version of this DVD in their catalog, therefore they would not put it on order for me. Why make two versions and one is missing two shows and the booklet? Anyway,I bought the 4-show version which was available at the store. I just feel a bit cheated. At least I have ALL of the T.A.M.I. Show on DVD. I can never get enough of the Rolling Stones. I saw them live in Seattle in 1981, I have numerous DVDs and CDs by them. I even have Rock Circus.

  • the best...

  • Ha ha ! Keith Richards is wearing a Nazi coat ! Does that make them all Nazis?

  • So, I guess they didn't say "Girl we couldn't get much higher" Oo

  • Can someone tell me the name of the song at 0:32? thanks.

  • @TheInvincible1997

    Ruby Tuesday

  • love kieth's german jacket in 0:59

  • I hope some kind person will upload the stones performing 'The Last Time' from their return to sullivan early in 1965. This DVD is a real treat for those us who saw them performing in glorious black & white via rabbit ears and 1 dinky speaker.

From what I've read and heard Chuck Berry was furious with the stones using his song (Around & Around) to open sullivan while he sat in prison. Not a happy berry camper I'm told.

  • @raynefallz1 I read something like that also. Anyway STONES FOREVER!

  • This "ENTIRE" video is nothing less than "WONDERFUL!!!" Check out Mick singing at 1:18 - ""Let's Spend Some 'TIME' Together!?!?" That of which Jim Morrison refused to do in '68 while singing "Light My Fire!" Jim sang the word "HIGHER' despite what he was told!?!?

Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Flip Wilson, Joan Rivers, Rodney Dangerfield, and, The Muppets, were great, too - but, the Stones were the "SHOW!" :D

The Rolling Stones were "ALWAYS" the show when they played - and, "PLAY!" :)

  • haha sullivan made them change 'lets spend the night together' to 'lets spend some time together' so when he sings it at 1:18 mick rolls his eyes

  • @kaiserkeller61

if he had some balls like Jim Morrison did he wouldnt have changed it haha

  • @Rush1013 Oh I don't know. Which one of them is still breathing?

  • @talkingwall

Haha, like that has anything to do with who they were. John Lennon is dead and Lil Wayne is still alive, does that mean that Lil Wayne is more talented then John Lennon? I dont think so. That was a pretty stupid response to a comment I made that was a joke.

  • @talkingwall well their all still breathing and as of their last tour were still rocking better then most others half their age.

  • @Rush1013 Then you wouldn't have a set like this to buy. Jagger was smart. Morrison...not so much.

  • @CityslickCaptain

Hahahaha, did you really just say that Jagger was smarter then Morrison? You have no idea what you're talking about. Even Jagger would agree that he had nothing on Jims intelligence and poetry.

  • Stones were rocks answer to the sanitized beatles...I loved the Beatles and grew to appreciate the stones...but they were the kids your parents told you not to hang out with..LOL!...the Beatles looked like they would probably try to feel up your daughter...the stones wanted to shag em...

  • If I don't get some shelter..I'm gonna fade away...lyric...

  • Ruby tuesday....and it's just a shot away....

  • What are the songs at 0:32, and 2:02? I've been trying to find out for so long.

  • During the Stones' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, the band was deemed so lewd that Sullivan himself felt it necessary to apologize for allowing them on the air.

  • LOL! Watch Mick roll his eyes when he sings the alternative lyric. The Stones shouldve refused the Ed Sullivan show, fuck that backdoor fascism. Spending the night together aint gonna hurt anybody.

  • 1:09 wow they looked clever:P

  • I won´t be called a NAZI (cause Im a confessing antiracist) but Keith looks damm got in this Wehrmacht jacket at 0:57

  • Which is the song played between The last time and Everybody needs somebody to love??

  • @TheTioSachShow The name of the song is called "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow?".

  • @robstones1968 Thanks, that's a long name...

  • @TheTioSachShow "have you seen your mother, baby, standing in the shadow?"

  • @ravaefava1 Thanks :)

  • Ed sullivan looks a little bit like nixon

  • @folladordeprostis You're absolutely right! He was Nixon's lookalike!

  • Sad the doors only performed once

  • What songs are they singing in this?

  • R.I.P. Brian Jones

  • I'll buy this, but why is the abridged version coming out first? It's going to suck waiting for the one with 6 shows.

  • MICK JAGGER IS GORGEOUS!!!!

  • I guess the youth today can only imagine what impact on our culture that this had back in the day. I still remember th firs time I saw the Stones on Ed Sullivan. Seeing the Beatles first apppearance in February 1964 as a 9 1/2 year old culture-head that I was as the class artist, I thought the Stones were too raunchy, then later with my own maturing age, I learned to appreciate them. It was all a great experience back then. -Mark Seibold, Retired IT Technician, Artist-Astronomy Educator, PDX OR

  • @cosmiclight my grandma payed for the first ticket when I saw them in 66 , I's fourteen and had my old man known - it was a package of 6 , and the Stones of course came on last ; when they did Lady Jane it was like all hell broke lose as he threw Roses into the audience...

  • Blu ray?

  • Watch our cover, from ARGENTINA

    Dead Flowers: /watch?v=SwwZnTcrZwo

    The best band ever..! ♪♫

  • i hate how ed sullivan pointed at them at the beginning

  • Charlie Watts fan here. In one segment he looks like John Lennon. In the next a Neanderthal. Cracks me up.

  • It's about time! Can't wait to see the complete video. Totally classic and long overdue!

  • "Let's spend SOME TIME together......" !!

    More innocent times.

  • @exaudi33 The look in his face when he had to say that was awesome.

  • Never heard about the Stones doing numbers 7 and 8 (above) on Ed Sullivan. Is this right?

  • Never heard about the Stones doing numbers 7 and 8 (above) on Ed Sullivan. Is this right?

  • i'm down

  • The one coming out on November 1st also comes with a 24-page booklet with rare photos and an article written by rock journalist Greil Marcus. These discs were done from the original master prints for pristine picture and sound quality.

  • Brian with sitar looks very epic and keith on piano looks epic too:)

  • The Rolling Stones, the one and only group on the world whom always appears without a bassist man, Hey.... wait a minute, there is one in this video on 2:19..

    Aleluya...!

  • Brian Jones rules

  • @MikeEder He ruled for sure; every guy wanted to look like and be like Brian Jones back then and then of course we learned what he was really like. Very tragic story.

  • LONG LIVE THE STONES! Amazing performances.

  • Finally! This is a must.

  • Just found both sets for pre-order on Amazon!! Just search "6 Ed Sullivan Shows Rolling Stones"

  • Comment removed

  • I have been waiting a long time for these full shows. I remember watching The Stones performing "Gimme Shelter" on the show in the late 60s and can't wait to see it again!

  • @gemaalexia That November 23, 1969 show was truly incredible! Gimme Shelter, Love in Vain and Honky Tonk Women!!!

  • Love the Stones! Can't wait to get this set!
